  • Hi Burtha,

Sorry you are not feeling so good. Do you need to check with your hospital consultant in case anything has changed.

    Sending you lots of hugs.

    Much love

AOT, will ask the little old man for his before he leaves. He buys the mirror paper everyday so I near enough know I will. Hes recently widowed, and he pops in the bookies everyday has a cheeky 50p bet a cup of tea with a biscuit and 2 hours of company with the other people in there. He is in everyday, we are bit of a care in the community really - some just pop in for the free drink. It doesn't matter at least we know they are well and are not lonely for a little while.

Well need to go, take care all x

I've finally done one of the jobs that I've been dreading and putting off for ages to my shame.........I've emptied, scrubbed, disinfected and cleaned the fridge!! :D It is going to feel good to be able to open the door and not look at it in dread.
Ok so I'm still in my nightshirt and quite shocked the postman with the combination of that and a pair of pink marigolds, but it's done.

I hope you feel better soon Burtha ((((hugs))))

grandma247 I love the bag, the flowers are gorgeous. I wish I could crochet, but I always end up in a massive tangle.

nuttyp I started out knitting very wonky scarves, but I've gone with the idea of learning a new thing with each thing I knit. So with this cardigan I need to learn to pick up stitches at the edge of a garment. If you can cast on, knit, purl and cast off then there are lots of different things you can knit apart from scarves. Add on increasing and reducing stitches and you are most of the way there. I find youtube videos very useful.
I hope that the Dr's are able to fix the problem with your DM's heart and that she is fit and well again very soon xxx

I'm wondering which of the other jobs that have been hanging over me I should tackle next. I'm not sure I'm feeling strong enough for the cupboard, wardrobe or airing cupboards of DOOM! They might have to wait until the weekend.

Just remembered that I haven't gone the minced beef out of the freezer to make meatball subs for dinner, so had better do that now.

    Much love xxxxxxx

Everything's gone very quiet on here...

Nuttyp, thank you for the heads up on the Mirror Aldi voucher earlier in the week. I expected it to be in next Thursday's. I got to the corner shop in time to pick up two copies.
DS has agreed to take me down to Aldi as soon as he comes in from work, around 8.30 ish.

I am so pleased your Mum is giving the coach a go, Fuddle. I found it a very pleasant journey.

I don't think I mentioned using my new soup maker that I got from Am@zon Vine- reviewed on the link, you'll know which review is mine. :D
I am very, very pleased with it.
Maybe it isn't totally OS but at 600w, it probably saves a lot of energy from not having the hob on for forty minutes to make a pan of soup.

I have loved looking at all the crafty things that folks have made. My skills aren't good with wool and fabric. :(
Time to go and make a steak and mushroom pie ...
PS - Burtha, please do get checked out.

Burtha: Let me, hypocrite that I am, repeat what everyone else is saying, Get thee to a doctor.
My family say that I will never go to the doctor until I hear the death rattle, but that doesn't stop me dispensing good advice to others! Hope you feel better soon.

Grandma: Loved the bag and am envious of your crochet skills. I once saw a lovely patchwork quilt made entirely of squares cut from men's old shirts. I was so impressed that I immediately started collecting old shirts. There is a bin bag full of them somewhere in the house. I have moved several times with them thinking that I would have the time to make something good out of them. Perhaps next time!

Had a scintillating time in the cash and carry today. It's my turn to do the lunch for 70 next week and I am giving them Lincolnshire sausages with cauliflower cheese, tomatoes and potato wedges followed by blackberry and apple crumble and custard. I don't mind at all doing the lunches but sometimes have difficulty catering for the vegetarians, diabetics etc. The Veggies will be fine this week but I am desperate to find pudding for diabetics. There are only so many times you can offer them fresh fruit salad, mousse (sugarfree jelly with whipped up evaporated milk) and diabetic ice cream. Anyone out there with other ideas?

I see that Zara has obviously heard about our Mia Grace Joy and has been so bold as to copy us. Well, she obviously doesn't have a granny called Joy so she missed a trick there.

Nothing much else to reprt today so will take myself off to bed.

    Night all

    x

Sdg I loved your cardi colours. I taught myself to crochet when I was making something for my oldest when he was a baby and it had a crochet edging.
Granny squares are easy, they grow quick and if you keep going you have a bed cover :) You tube is fantastic for learning how to do all kinds of things.

  • Morning everyone.

Been on sofa rest since Tuesday night. I seem to have caught a virus of some sort that’s going around. Many people who was at the funeral has also been brought down with the same thing.

Dragged myself out of bed this morning to help my mum for a few hours. So hopefully a change from the four walls might help.

Really disappointed that I missed the first aldi voucher for the year. Just never had the energy to go and get one. Suppose there is always next months.

Anyway - Its just a quick one from me, Hope everyone starts to feel better soon. Hugs to all. x
