Finally managed to read todays posts through properly
SQ - you are doing the very very best you can and that is also an achievement, I have said it before but sometimes standing still as it were is the greatest achievement we can hope for, I have goals every day that I aim for but I make them achievable, its back to that SMART thing every goal should be simple, measurable, achievable, realistic and time based. My biggest goal and challenge daily is getting everybody up, fed, washed dressed and into their educational settings on time, if I manage that I have won the day
Cornish ((hugs)) its not an easy path you are walking at the moment, I hope it feels a little easier knowing we are all here ""holding your hand" and wishing you well.
Princess - ((hugs)) you are clearly at a point where you need some sort of answers as to the future of your treatment as the uncertainty is making things worse, can I suggest contacting your GP for advise, they may be able to get answers for you or can tell you who you will need to speak to. Failing that every health authority has a Healthwatch group who can often(in my area) get answers others have failed to find:)
Havent been to dentist as the swelling went down over night, I did call the dentist but they said as it was down and no longer agony I should wait until it flares again
I took my bags of old kids clothes to weigh in centre today - they took four bags only and paid £15 for them, which whilst not a huge amount has given me back a huge amount of space and helps with my private battle to get my bedroom looking at least respectable and not a dumping ground0 -
Thank you everyone for your lovely messages, I've had a lovely day for my birthday He Who Knows brought me a cuppa in bed this morning and a slightly stale hot cross bun with a lit tealight balanced on top of it, you can't be uncheered when your day starts like that can you? We went to my favourite garden centre for lunch and had jacket potatoes, lovely and then the postman delivered a surprise present from DD1 which is a book - A Concise History of Sweden which is fascinating and explaining some of our character traits to me and letting me understand why I'm me!!! DD2 is ringing this evening and I'm cooking Pork Schnitzle, potato gratin and red cabbage with apple for supper, yummmmmmmmm!!! so I've really enjoyed my day, even got a dry walkies with my boy and Sue and Charlie so I'm perfectly content. Thank you all for the friendship and companionship you give me day in, day out, I appreciate it very, very much, Love Lyn xxx.0

Hi there.
Interesting morning at the jobcentre. We got to talk to a lovely lady who basically agreed with all we said. Apparently the problem comes when a decision has to be made about sanctions as they are not the decision makers. It is all passed on to another dept who don't know the people concerned, have a 'tick box' mentality and don't actually care very much. She depairs of the current process. She also agreed that some workers in the JC are rude, manipulative and completely devoid of human compassion. She said that people should complain more, at which I gasped and explained that this was a sure and certain way to get sanctioned. She gave us the lowdown on various steps customers could take when they had been sanctioned, which was very rarely explained to them.
I took careful notes!
She was appalled at some of the things I had to tell her but said that there was little she could do as "we are all constantly being watched and assessed."
Did you know that the first time you were sactioned it was for 2 weeks, next time 6 weeks, then 3 months, then six months. If you ever got sanctioned for 6 months the next one was for 3 YEARS!
Anyway, that's enough of that.
Fuddle: It strikes me that you have always had to take care of your Mum when it should have been t'other way round. You have been more than caring and generous to allow her to come and stay with you. How she gets there is her responsibility. I'm not even going to mention your so-called sister, it's a one way traffic as far as she is concerned.
CC: You are another one who is bearing almost intolerable burdens with humour and grace. You do know, don't you, that we are all with you every step of the way.
And all the rest of you who have problems on top of problems, I salute you all.
SQ and anyone else who mourns the lack of organisation in their lives.
I have never seen a tombstone yet with "She kept a tidy house" written on it. No-one is going to say at your funeral. "I did admire her clean floors and lack of cobwebs." Live your life the best way you can. There is no invisible report book chronicling your failures and no ghostly committee wagging their fingers and tut-tutting at you.
Mrs LW: Hope you are living the life of Riley (whoever he is) and being spoilt rotten today. If anyone desrves it, you do.

Glad you had a lovely day Mrs L, could you post your red cabbage recipe please
.
Just ordered my first piece of sheet silver to use on Friday - gulp - a piece 0.5 of a millimetre thick, 5 cm wide and 18 cm long cost something over £33 . I have to think very very carefully what I want to make, can't aford any wasteage.
Glad you have got thind sorted in your head Fuddle. MiL regualrly travelled all over the country by National Express, and she had a false leg, so it's quite possible for older, less able people to use them. Sometimes, when people say they can't do something, they mean they don't want to, which is quite a different thing!
CornishChick - (((hugs))), stay strong, we are here if you need us.
Hugs too for everyone with poorly OHs, sore mouths, the blues and all the other stuff that life has chucked at them - what a rocky ride some are having!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Happy Birthday Lynn - glad you've had a lovely day - X
Big hugs CC - can't say it any better than monnagran (again)
Well today has been meeting central - was over at County this morning with regard to the new children and families legislation coming in and the whole new SEN system, then home for some lunch and half last weeks (oops) OU work, then off to pick DD from school, just had telephone call from the paediatrician and off out to PTA AGM in a bit (you'll all be pleased to hear I'm going to sit on my hands and not volunteer for anything - got enough on my plate already).
Bottle of wine is in the fridge chilling for when I get back!
Got a bit of good news to day when I got the mark for my last essay, which I'd had an extension for, done in a rush and had no confidence in whatsoever (in fact I was convinced I'd be lucky to scrape a grade 4 pass) and I'd got 78!!!
My new hairdo has been much admired (again) - it really has given me a lift, I feel positively glam at the moment!
Hugs to everyone else who wants or needs one - X0 -
I'm late to the party, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mrs. LW!
Princess, I think you should ask your counsellor the next time you see her what the plan is. It is perfectly reasonable to want to know how things will play out. She might not be able to tell you in that session, but she can go away and find out for you. Big hugs, and keep fighting.
Cornish Chick, very special hugs to you.
Stilty, Congratulations! That is a big well done to you!!!!:D
Off to make some tea. Hugs all around.x0 -
Fuddle
So glad you are not falling for the guilt trip especially as any guilt should be your Mothers.
Monnagran
Loved your post :A
MrsL
Glad you had a lovely day , you deserve it.
DH has birthday tomorrow but we have a family funeral so need to set off early to drive to Welsh border, see relatives, drive to crematorium, then drive for a meal. We decided it would be too much driving to try to get home the same day so have booked in a good B&B for tomorrow night.
Suggesting we put extra heavy coats and boots in the car in case weather turns bad. Better to have stuff and not need it than vice versa.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Right, off to scout the internet for more fertility places that may offer DD egg harvesting and storing incase she looses both ovaries.0 -
Happy Birthday Mrs LW :beer:Must use my stash up!0
