Pinkd you'll get through this chick :)
were all here for you x

Shegar I've cut down on amount of caffiene I've been drinking. Its now 3-4 cups a day. I'm having severe withdrawel systems bad headaches and shading hands. Used to be worse but ive dropped down from 15, now that was awful, I was in, total agony.

    But it does get better

Having a down day, I'm in agony with my legs so im ignoring my phone and hiding away. Sometimes I think we need to, to try and time to wind down. Yesterday was really stressful, ds2 had a major panic when we were out shopping.poor thing, so we came back home and had pizza fromlidl and home made crotain potato salad and watched a space film.

OH has taken them to school so I just pick ds2 up for 3.
    Sorry for whining :(
Got tons to do, but don't have the energy :(
Social group for boys.tonight, ds2 lives it but I really can't face going but I will.
  • Morning everyone.

Very quite here today. Got a lot going on with such limited time. I’m starting to feel like everything is a battle. But, I’m determined to make a difference this year. The stubborn child is coming out!

I am making a start with the de-cluttering today. Starting in the bedroom. We have loads of things just sitting there collecting dust. So it’s a good place to start. The bathroom isn’t too much of an issue (Just sorting out the bundle of) shower gels, shampoo’s bath soaks is driving me insane. I managed to re-gift a lot of the gift sets that we was given over two Christmases ago. This year we received a tone back.

Convinced that people are trying to tell OH and I something…….

Then its headed down stairs to the kitchen. One of the worst offenders. We have no may (Very cheap) pots & pans that I brought months ago that’s useless and what I consider as dangerous.
This is where I’m now doubting myself: Do I just get rid of these and pay a little more for more quality items that will last us longer or remain with the ones we have until their unusable? What’s the OS thing to do?

I have also started making a list for clothing for both of us. So its out with the well worn tatty stuff.

WOW, puffed out just writing the list….Is it bed time yet?

Seems some of our regulars haven’t been on for a while. Hope everything is okay with you all.

And welcome to our newbies x

  • Hi All,

Struggling a bit today. I've made myself a step by step list. Perservering so far, have determined I will stop work and go to the gym early today and then come back and bake something. I've some cinnamon chips (like chocolate morsels but flavoured) I absolutely love cinnamon so nicked these off my mum. They sell them in the states so sometimes one of her pupils' parents will bring some back for her. Normally wouldn't eat this sort of thing but special treats do us all good every now and then. Haven't decided what to make with them yet--thinking some sort of oat biscuit might be nice.

Hope you're all feeling positive today. Hugs to all.

I've heard some war-time frolicking tales today. By gosh In shocked! Brings home the idea of getting on with things as best you can when the chips are down doesn't it?

So busy covering sickness that I have not had time to think - still not finished till 7.15 tonight and doing the weekend shift to boot (but tomorrow I have a 3 hour break ;) )

I called my on call on Weds night to authorise a paramedic. One of my ladies needed help. I've already grown attached and worry about my own ability to cope when sad things happen but she's ok. I left her with a cheese sandwich and sliced apple at 1 with the promise of salmon and boiled pots for her evening meal later. It's like I don't do a job but my family is growing and ever so needy of me. Nice to have a purpose but I'm tired. Sheila, 'tis not easy eh? :(

Work are going to put me through my NVQ level 3 as they think I have supervisor potential. I'm not even entertaining the idea until I the girls are mid teens.

Ashamed to say but cheese on toast for the family's tea because I can't be bothered! I need shopping and have to get it delivered tomorrow as daren't let DH food shop - he isn't frugal and gets swayed by 'special offers' that aren't savvy.

I had 3 coffees yesterday and did the evening shift with a headache - caffeine is brutal!

fuddle bless you for being so attached to your clients already, if only there were more like you but don't forget to draw the line somewhere or you will get drained

SQ good luck with the decluttering. I am doing it too, it's hard but very liberating when you get rid of things which you never use but hold on to for one reason or another. Nice to think that most things will help someone else too via CS donations. Take it little by little. Good luck with the sugar reduction too.

px87 and fpk just pace yourselves

Hugs to everyone else who is struggling
  • Afternoon Toughies, it's raining again and cold this afternoon so not nice to walk out in but we did!!! Popped into town this morning for a few things I needed and the wretched bus left a few minutes early so I missed it by seconds, I wasn't the only one either there were 4 of us all trying to catch the drivers attention but he was not going to stop, Grrrrrrr!!! Had to spend an extra hour pootling about but was very disciplined and only looked, didn't buy!!! Never mind, just annoying not harmful eh?

It looks as though tomorrow is going to be dry here so I'll see if I can do a wash and actually dry it outside, that is the best way to get it smelling clean and fresh, I love getting the dry washing off the line on days like that. I've been shocked at how much meat seems to have increased in price since christmas and it seems to be across the board in all the supermarkets they're charging £4 for 500g of mince down here which is really too much so I'm looking at either padding out mince with some soya mince to make it go further or making sure I put in a couple of vegetarian options into the meal plan each week and use lentils and kidney beans and chickpeas on a regular basis as they're much better value for money. Tomorrow I'm going to make a Chickpea,Lentil and Spinach Dahl for lunch with some basmati rice and I'm going to make vegetarian Burritos with homemade refried beans for one day in the week which will suit He Who Knows, he likes spicy things. On Mr.Ts reduced shelf this morning I was horrified to see a small leg of lamb rediced to £17.75!!!!! last week they had several beef joints reduced to £15 - £16, who on earth has that kind of money to spend on a small joint of meat, not me certainly. I also wonder what happens to reductions that don't get sold, do they just get thrown away at the end of trading? it's wrong if they do, surely selling them is preferable to that but not at that kind of price eh?

It's going to get colder over the next few days and I went into the storeroom and got my heavy waxed jacket off the hanging rail, it's not fitted me for a little while and now I've lost some weight I can get into it with space so I'll be warm and waterproof in the cold, lovely!!! Look after yourselves, Lyn xxx.

My, it's been a good day today. I went to a funeral (OK not fun, but I didn't actually know the person - the Rev was taking it) and then on to have lunch with an old friend. We were in the vicinity of Aldys so popped in. I don't often get the opportunity so was very pleased to stock up on some camembert bakes and some of their version of Nutty/Chocolate stuff that I use when I bake brownies. Came home to a phone message from our friend who has been waiting since the begining of December for the results of tests to see if her cancer has returned. It hasn't and we are dancing! She has already outlived the doctors' prognosis by over 2 years and really thought that this was IT. She is a wonderful person, always cheerful and funny, keeps us all entertained and does so much for what she calls 'the less fortunate'(!) that you would never believe that she is terminally ill.
She is the one whose oncologist told her that she was using up precious NHS resources by not dying when she was supposed to. No, we didn't believe it either. Anyway, we are granted her lovely presence for a bit longer.

Off out tonight for a meal with some more good friends. They are having a torrid time financially and I feel awful that they are using their scarce resources to feed us. I have bought some flowers and a bottle of wine to take them but I would love to have taken them something more helpful and practical. I fear that they may have been upset if we did, so comfort myself by thinking that maybe something as useless as flowers will feed their souls and make them feel a bit more cheerful. I'd still love to help them but this is a difficult situation and I wouldn't dent their pride for anything.

Fuddle: I want to say ,"Keep a professional distance and don't get over-involved with your clients," but you wouldn't be you if you did that. And in any case, when I'm old and need carers I want someone just like you. Just look after yourself a bit and otherwise ignore my 'mother-hen' tendencies.
