I hope I'm not teaching my grandma to suck eggs, and apologise in advance if I cause offense, but you can get caffeine free coke and tea bags.
No offense taken bluebag...........On my way back from hospital on Tuesday afternoon I stopped and got 80 decaf tetley tea bags , which I have been using from that day onwards , im doing very well with them , and will never go back to normal tea bags.........
Last night I popped to local shop and bought 6 cans of diet de caf coke , so all my stash of diet normal coke ive got will be given to the family.......I also liked the diet decaf coke............So as far as I can see and how im getting on with the decaf I wont ever be buying drinks with caffeine in.......
Felt real groggy this morn, irritable, headaches bad , but this afternoon first time in 3 days im feeling somewhat better , so lets hope im over the worst, never thought the dam stuff had such an effect on my health, no wonder drs tell us to give it up............Plus without caffeine I only use the loo 3 to 4 times aday...:D...............
I hope you are all okay and now its Friday , start to look forward to the weekend...:D...Sheila0 -

Hi all, have just had a couple of days in a wet Cardiff. We went to see OH aunt who has gone into a new carehome. My they are lovely people there, it felt and looked like a posh hotel but the people living there and the staff where very nice. Aunt staying there hates it, she said when the staff laugh they are laughing at her, and that they are trying to poison her. I must point out, she is being assessed for dementia. She made us wash her glass and get her fresh water as it was contaminated. So to all the carers out there, I applaud you. We only went there for a couple of hours and it was exhausting. The people we met in Cardiff were so nice in any place that we visited. Didn't do any shopping but plenty of window shopping.
Last week end we removed the stud wall we had put up between 2 bedrooms when our girls were little. I am now looking for a desk for DD room. Tried bidding on landofbay but it went for stupid money. So the search continues, will try the local charity shops. I am not in any hurry so I can keep an eye out for a bargain.
Kidcat I don't envy the toothache, I am the worse wimp at the dentist. I cry before I even enter the reception. Hence why I have to go first thing so I don't scare children.
SQ I am decluttering too, car boots and facebook buy sell swap and land of bay. If I still have it then charity shop. I do donate some stuff but the pennies come in handy towards the cost of paint for the room after its been cleared out.
I still have a code for the sun holiday if anyone wants a priority booking number. We wont be going so it seems a shame to waste it when one of you lovlies might want to take your kids away for a weekend very cheaply. PM me if your interested, if not I will send to the recycle bin LOL.
Well must get some more washing sorted. take care xBSC member 137

Kidcat, hope you got to the dentist and are feeling better now. X
Hubby is a bit better today, swelling has gone down a lot but he looks decidedly grey. Just been and stocked up on his fruit - my goodness he can go through a lot of grapes and satsumas, then DGS comes for the weekend so they sit eating them together:D
Went to Mr S and was , again, very angry at the prices:mad: thats exactly how I looked while I was walking round. Very few ys's unless you love bread sauce but couldnt think of anywhere that needed re- plastering so left them. We buy packs of custard creams, double row of biscuits for 46p? Now they are single rows and 30p each  very naughty. So Monday I will be making industrial quantities of twinks hobknobs and freezing them. I think I will be re-assessing our luxurious lifestyle, just have to be toast for one meal and beans for another now instead of pigging out on both at once :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light

I will get my caravan0 -
Lynn know what you mean the price of meat is ridiculous. We've been having more veggie based meals recently. Lidl the, meat looked oday but even the price there was to high.
The lads enjoyed social club, so glad were home now, my dad took us and OH bright us back so no taxi fares for us.
No idea what were doing tomorow, might try and go for a walk tomorow in the forest or along the beck for a wander.0 -
Good Morning everyone,
Thank you all SO very much for all your hugs and good wishes........I cannot tell you how overwhelmed I felt when I was reading them all. I've been ill since 2010 so it's kind of become my life now - most of the time I do just fine but, as I mentioned, every now and then I have a little blip when it all gets on top of me. For those that were curious, I've had most of my stomach removed so the feeding tube goes direct into my bowel. I am attached to a machine 12 hours a day (I try to run it overnight) and the "feed" provides me with 1500 calories a day. It's especially formulated to contain everything you need. I can drink, albeit slowly and also have some top-up drinks from the hospital (but they are truly disgusting!!!!) When they remove the tube, rightly or wrongly, I will try to sustain myself with MacDonald milkshakes!! They are nutritionally very poor but they do provide a massive amount of calories! So hopefully I won't lose too much weight but I'll probably end up with malnutrition for a while.
Today is a lovely day down here on the Dorset coast - the sun was out when I took Dexter out this morning, although it was a little chilly. It's just so nice not to have to walk him in a downpour!
My OH is working all day today - as I think I mentioned, Monday is a 350 mile round trip to Chelmsford Hospital so he's swapped his day off in anticipation. And for me, well, I have something quite exciting planned.............I've only just learned to use a sewing machine and I absolutely love it so I've just signed up for a patchwork and quilting course that starts this afternoon. It's designed just to show you the basics (making the layout, cutting out etc) so I'm really looking forward to it. Boredom is my biggest problem so hopefully this will help!!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend and my sincere thanks again,
Debbie xxx
PS Hugs to everyone who needs or wants them!!0 -
Morning all
deb - what led to your stomach being removed (don't answer if you'd rather not). I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for you to try and keep your calorie intake up when you have such a big barrier. Hope you enjoy your patchwork class. I prefer to do my patchwork by hand, time consuming but relaxing. I use the machine to back and bind cos I'm not that daft.
Blue skies here this morning but the ground is very wet so it must have rained at some point during the night. DD1 and her BF and a big group of friends went to London last night to hit the clubs....she doesn't "do" clubbing, she's much more of a jimjams, good book and a hot choccy girl. They stayed with some Uni friends with halls close by but due to the amount of them they didn't get any sleep. She had the foresight to get the first train home and is tucked up in bed..I doubt I'll see her before lunch time.
I must admit I'm finding the meat prices a bit ridiculous at the moment. Our local butcher has gone out of business and I really can't afford the farmers market prices. I tend to stick to the supermarket 3 for £10 offers. A chicken will do us a roast, a curry or pie and then stock for a soup or for risotto. I make the mince do 2 meals too but by changing how we eat it...the meat becomes the addition rather than the main event.....so one half becomes a chill to either go on top of a jacket potato or nachos, the other half is stirred through pasta in a bake. I then typically go for a different pack each week to add variety, might be pork steaks, might be gammon. I then get a decent stock of "variety" in the freezer for those months when I don't have the budget for more meat.
We do have at least 3 meat free days a week but luckily we are all on board with this and enjoy vegetable based meals.
No plans for today, the house is tidy enough that I'm not even going to bother with housework (aside from loading the DW and WM) I made the mince and tomato sauce base in the Sc yesterday so half for tonight's pasta bake, the rest will go in the freezer for later in the weeks chilli.

Morning all, have just finally finished catching up with everyone and getting all the housework caught up with. OH is cleaning the cars and hovering them out. And I get 5 mins on here.
We are nipping to the local charity shop later as they have some furniture in, we are after a desk still. The one I was watching went for £50, more than I can afford. We did look in ikea when we came home on Thursday but still didn't any.
I managed to sort the contents and the car insurance. We used a comparison site and got the contents for half the price on the renewal and the car was nearly half price. We will be receiving meerkats too. I have chosen the baby one, it looks sweet.
Well must get on, DD has rang for taxi service by mum!! take care everyone, enjoy the sunshine. xBSC member 137
