Poor bloody postman just came to the door, sodden to the skin, and delivered a handful of stupid sales leaflets, junk mail. Imagine how it feels to have to trek round every single door in torrential rain, up farm tracks and down long driveways - just for that! It's a good job I'm not a postman lol I'd take them all back to the shops and tell them to deliver the bloody stuff themselves!0

Hello everyone. Shesh you lot recharging your batteries. 7am-10pm shift for me Sat, Sun. Cream crackered!
Interesting reading your weightloss stories. You are dark horsesIm now a size 18 although a lot of that is my chestage. I really need to get to grips with my weight especially as my lower back is already suffering from the job. We have strict H&S rules, have hoists and slip sheets and what not but theres time when you do have use your own strength to keep someone in a roll position who cant help you with supporting the weight.
Because of the shifts Ive been snacking in the car during break minutes and en route to homes. I have been coming in really hungry and devouring cheeses at 10.30 at night. So very not good! So a long hard look at my diet too as well as planning better when Im on the weekend shift.
Weddings. Ah princess. The money you spend doesnt make it anymore special and being from a mum who got married I value the decision we made to try for my eldest (before we were married) more than the fact we are married! Ive never been one for complete tradition and because of the relationship I had with my mam and that my dad died when I was little - well, it was a whole load of money that we didnt have (as it was serving debt!) It wasnt until DD was with us that I hated being an unmarried mother and wanted the same name as my husband and daughter. We seriously considered change by deed poll (as we didnt see the point of spending a lot of money for something we already had in our eyes) but thought for legal reasons we had better do it properly. We got married on a holiday on the Isle of Arran, just us and DD, a couple of kind local witnesses - all for the registrar fee, nice outfits and a £60 Argos ring (I do have my grandmas wedding ring now though)
What Im saying is that although I see marriage as not as important a deal as I maybe should, I do value my family a great deal and are very lucky to have the relationship I have. Marriage hasnt had any effect on that at all. Its most definately not about the moneyEnjoy your planning Princess - make those purse strings work extremely hard so you can enjoy your day without any lasting financial bits and bobs adding stress to your relationship.
Shopping ordered (Im not venturing out in this - boy are we tired of wind and rain?!) and I cant be bothered - there, said it. Ive ordered soups and cuppa soups to bulk out the stocks. Still reeling from power outages in our locality but I saw the power company working late last night so hopefully people have their power on now.
I am going to take up the hems on the curtains in our room later though and put the SC on for rice pud for desert tonight. I was wanting to take kiddies over the skate park with their scooters but weather spoiled that.
Only 8 hours work this week and a weekend off. So relieved. Tired (dare I say it, not used to hard graft)0 -
Morning all, didn't wake up until 915 am so late for me. Youngest DD had to see the doctor as she has a horrendous cough and after the OP part of the nose is still not healed. After a couple of checks they think she has astmah. Will find out for definite on the 9th.
OH is at work and very busy delivering parcels from people ordering in the sales I suppose. I intend to loose weight so then I will actually need rather than want new clothes.
SQ my daughter keeps saying she is bored, not a lot I can do as I am leaving soon for work.
FUDDLE, I too struggle with eating while working - I graze on crap. Today I have packed lots of fruit and for lunch I had rice and ham. Fingers crossed I manage to keep on with the plan.
Just looked out and the fence is definatley swaying in the wind. I hope is can stay up and its an expense I haven't factored in really.
Must dash, take care xBSC member 137

Lurker on this thread, but popping in to say hi and congratulations on all the weight loss. I've lost a lot this year and feel way better for it, save for being cold all the time. I now have little stashes of fleece blankets around the house for anywhere I sit a while, and that's keeping me warm without blowing the budget on the heating.
We have a lovely old house, but boy is it draughty, despite considerable efforts to make it less so. I also braved the Next sale on Friday and have two big chunky jumpers for £14 each, so that's definitely helping.
Will toddle of to have a look at the weight loss thread. Still got a bit to go, but need to balance that with being sensible on the weight vs muscle. I'm 5'9" per the docs (I always thought I was an inch shorter), so I'm not going to be teeny.Fitter is definitely better though...it's great when OH asks me to slow down sometimes now when we go walking.

The weather has turned our routine upside down today. It was raining sideways at 5am and blowing a gale so the dogs didn't get their long morning walk for the first time in months. Went to work early, back now and waiting for Dh to finish so dogs can have late afternoon walkies. Thank goodness the rain has stopped for now. Rotten to have bored youngsters on days like this - I remember it well:rotfl: mine are just glad to have an excuse to stay in bed for as long as possible now.
No spend day today, using up various fridge stuff. Just drinking large glass of HM juice to try to counteract rotten cold I have - carrot, ginger, lemon, pineapple, apple, kiwi, clementine - lush.
Have a large pan of mixed veg cooking then everyone can microwave a portion with whatever they want for tea later as I don't feel up to spending ages cooking this evening.0 -
Afternoon all.
I’m having a quick break before carrying on with a whole list of duties that haven’t been done because of the Christmas break (Ok, More laziness kicked in & spending time with my family was considered more important) But alas, It must get done.
We have a very small house, therefore we’ve decided to get the Christmas decorations down and put away for this year.
We’ve also got baby ruby here as her mother & father decided to lock themselves out their house so their waiting for a locksmith to come and baby is fast a kip.
I’m struggling to get back into the swing of things. Especially DF. Side of moneysaving.
We have received another bill through the door this morning, One we was told long ago that we had paid off, But apparently we hadn’t it was a case when we contacted the company with the debt, They had no records because they sold the debt on. I hate to think that these companies can get away with these tricks. Its unfair on people who are actually trying to make a difference.
But alas, Its added to the ever shrinking debt folder.
I’m also going to be looking at opening another savings account for odd money to be collected up in so that’s another lump sum that will be able to be paid once saved.
Anyways, Baby is calling, Will come back later. Take care all xFuture goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -

im sick of the wind and rain too0 -
Yes it's miserable weather here too, and still gusty, but the good news is my neighbour has just popped round and told me that she is responsible for the fencing that came loose just before Christmas and will be replacing it. Result! Other than that we are plugging away, we've all been ill which is why I haven't been on here much. I took down some of the xmas decorations today as I can't stand them too long after the big day although I love them beforehand. I have fallen badly behind with shopping/meal planning though and badly need to get a hold of it all before the budget is blown. Not that there is a budget!
DH has a job interview on the 7th, so fingers crossed for that one.0
