mama67 hello! haven't heard from you in ages, how are you? x
Well i'm feeling a bit better lol, OH cooked our tea, very basic but we all fancied egg, chips and beans. One of those meals that you don't appreciate till you have it.
We haven't left the house the boys didn't want to leave so we just played games all day and watched Deep Impact, oh the class. the boys enjoyed it though and we ended up having a big chat about terraforming Mars, extinction levels all sorts.
I left my diet for xmas, but i'm back on it soon enough.0 -
I'm not weighing as part of losing weight, I just stick with the eating plan that is working for me and wait for the current set of clothes I'm wearing to feel and look too big. I get so terribly discouraged when there is no weight loss despite working hard to get one, that is the danger point for me as I often felt it wasn't worth carrying on with the trying to lose weight campaign. I'm fitting clothes I've not been able to get into for the past 3 years and they're a bit loose so I am much motivated to keep on doing what is working for me. I can't do clubs, I've tried in the past and found they've set me very unrealistic targets, one even suggested my ideal weight would be 8st.10lbs no way, nohow could I ever reach that, no matter how hard I tried so I just work to the next size lower and the weight doesn't matter at all, only that I feel better. I guess it's whatever works for each of us on an individual basis?0

.
Hi good thanks.
Have just been snowed under with the business which has gone on in leaps and bounds thankfully, since we started 1 Mar.
We get alot our work through FB and some nights I am still sorting out queries for the s/h furniture side at nearly midnight. We thought it funny to start with but then for some shift workers that is their 7/8pm.
It has been nice to have a couple of quiet weeks where we haven't had an alarm going off for get ups etc.
As it has been quiet I'm trying to catch up on here and some other online places, and am getting there slowly. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
MAM 67 & VJS MUM......... ( im 56 ),VJS MUM.........We both have accepted the next step is permanent care, we are now awaiting for the visit to get things started from our case worker at SS..........................
I dont think it will happen for a few weeks. but tomorrow he goes into respite for a week, so im really looking forward to the break, even if I am at home I can do things a whole lot slower so that I can recharge my nearly flat batteries again..!!
Christmas was hard work, we went out for both the days a few hours each day , but with the over excited GC it was all too much for him , too many people laughing and talking all at once and a tv in the background done him in..................We all kept saying to the GC can you quieten down a bit cos poor grand dad dont feel well, but it was christmas and children do get excited.................................
Im also going to try to get some weight off in the new year, try and look after myself a bit better when ive only got myself to look after , get some of this stress taken away from me , hopefully my diabetes will settle and it will all fall into shape..............................
I had my face scan done on christmas eve , they told me that the ENT dept will be in touch with me in 6 weeks so I should then get an appointment to see my hospital consultant to see what they found..................
Well im off to bed in few mins , feeling very tired since tea time, but then thats not unusual for me , I could sleep for England........Take care all...sheila

mama67 thats fab news with the business!
Its really taken off hasn't it?
Its like that with us, its mental getting emails and calls all times of the night.

Hello all
Glad to see you've had good Christmases by and large - it's wonderful to have a few days with no alarms, being able to recharge the batteries, etc! DH closed down his business and will have had 9 days off by the time he re-opens, the most time he's had off work in over 4 years, penalty of working for yourself. We all really needed it though, we've watched far too much tv, eaten too much rubbish, and so on, so very lazy!!!
Lots of my friends keep asking about New Year resolutions, but I find it too stressful! I have a few aims for the next year, but they revolve around my family, my mum and my mental health - those are more important to me than some of my friends' resolutions.

I was just going to say the same thing, I found it gave me a good kick start when I was trying to drop some weight last year. I'll be back for my usual post Christmas careful eating...:DPiglet

Hi everyone
Cheapskate - you have the right idea with your new year aims, mine will centre around my health (physical and mental), my family and friends and our home. The things that matter most.
Mrs Chip - so glad you are back posting (I know I have said it already!)
Cornishchick - hope you are reading, how are you?
Shegar - hope you got a good night's kip love
((((((((VJs mum)))))))))
Pops - if you are reading, have tried unsuccessfully to PM a few times and reply to your blog but can't seem to do either. Will try again later but in the meantime, glad you had a nice Christmas day and all the very best for the New Year (in case I forget later!)
I went out yesterday as I had been in for days. Drove to retail park to get a refund on a couple of things and queues into a full car park so drove straight in. Thought would have a mooch in town instead, ditto queues so headed in different direction to sansberets where parking was ok.
Wandered in without even a basket for a mooch, found a few bits including choc coin bags for 30p (keep for Easter bags I make up) and a toiletry gift set in the sale, paid and took back to car. Back in with a basket so I could carry a bit more, straight to the sales shelves and a woman had piled a trolley high with virtually all the gift sets etc in the sale, talk about greedy.
I did get a couple of YS bits (rare for me due to times I shop) so we had posh quiches for tea with the last of the nice veg. The rest of the root veg is looking very sorry for itself so making a vegetable casserole today with sausages for tea.
DS9 is getting fed up. He appreciates his new toys and bits but wants to see friends. I texted everyone who might be free and we could invite ourselves over to and all busy plus I already knew one friend is off to a wedding and another a funeral.
Weather is abysmal and forecast same all week, no cheap cinema tickets tomorrow, can't afford to do much else out and DH needs quiet to revise.... I am trying to keep harmony!
Couple of days with friends here or at theirs Fri and Sat and poss Thurs but that doesn't help today. Oh well all part of the life learning process. Despite all the new toys, DS7 is most looking forward to making a massive robot out of Christmas packing and the box the dehumifier came in - so something to keep him occupied at least today.
Realised that I totally forgot to top up on bread, milk and fresh veg yesterday so will need to pop out today again. Will do me good to get out. Will try and talk DS9 to come and shake off his fedupness

Morning all
Grim here, blowing a hoolie and so dark. We're off to meet some friends for a catch up and a game or two of bowling (well, kids will bowl, we will sit and chat). DDs then want to go have a look at the sales as they have Christmas money burning a hole in their pocket. Will have lunch out as our new years treat, we won't be doing anything on new years eve/day aside from silly board games as both DDs BFs will be here. Nice and relaxed.
Need to give the fridge a good sort out later and get it scrubbed out, will get the last of the Christmas stuff used up/souped/frozen and make a list of what I need for the next few weeks. Going to sign up for an online shopping delivery package to save us going to the supermarket quite so often (which will help my spendy elves who always seem to be in the trolly). Our nearest @ldi is 9 miles away so although I like shopping there it seems silly to keep wasting petrol.
Anyone up to anything exciting for new year?"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
