Dear Kidcat: I know just how it is. The Rev is also one who stands in the way of people trying to do dodgy things and is being hounded out because of it. She, like you, can only be honest and therefore is a threat to those who have their own agenda. For your own sanity I beg you to get out of that toxic situation. The Rev is a strong person but she has been almost destroyed by the amount of nastiness she has had from people who should have been supporting her. Fortunately virtually 100% of 'ordinary' people here have supported her and are distraught that she is going. One of the shops in the High Street actually started up a petition to keep her here, and got 1,500 signatures in a very short space of time. I put 'ordinary' in quotation marks because they are really the most extraordinary people I have met.
You too, Kidcat, will probably have your supporters but it seems to me that nastiness will always win - in the short term anyway. I am already seeing the stabbers-in-back getting their come-uppance, and you will see the same. It's not much consolation but you are doing exactly the right thing in making a dignified withdrawal. You have enough problems to cope with, you don't need more.

Written 6 cards tonight. Only 65 to go.

You're six cards ahead of me Monnagran...

Tell you what, I won't send them to any of you (not that I have addresses for you) if you don't send them to me. That's already saved us all lots
  • SQ. I've been doing the same thing with vouchers, always mean to take a peek to see if anyone uses them or the staff remove them lol.
I've been known to stop people from buying something at full price when there's a better offer ie coffee at 200gs plus 50%free so 300gs for 4 . 99 when they pick up a normal 300g jar for 7.99.. mind you one person looked at me as if I was mad.
today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

    Morning folks

Blooming cough woke both me and DH up so decided fairer to DH to vacate our warm bed at 7am. Can't seem to get going at all. Had breakfast with a pot of tea and thought I'd be an early bird on here. Have tons to do which is probably why I can't get going that and had a cold/cough thing for ages and feeling a bit worn out.

If I list tasks here might help me tick them off! Need to:
    change all beds
wash whites (DS9 has no school shirts and its carol service tomorrow eeek) and sort dry laundry
    Sunday baths
    write Xmas cards
nag boys to write class cards and make 8 more homemade cards
put up cards we have received so far on string
sort out mountain of food bought last week - do inventory and find storage
sort chest freezer -all randomly chucked in since defrosting
defrost little freezer (might not do that today)
    sort/clean fridge
cook dinner with enough for college meals for DJ next week
got out on a family "Christmas walk" - will do at least once every week til early Jan for us to see other houses' outside lights and decs

that will do for now I think
    yawning SQ :)

morning, SQ I too like to give my 'excess' vouchers away. I try and be careful and give them to someone who looks like they will honestly benefit from them. I really don't need much shopping only fresh stuff at the moment, we have quite good stocks but as always if there is a bargain - I buy it!! Washing powder/liquid is never bought full price, and I have 4 waiting to be used.

Last night was relatively quiet for once, maybe the rain and strong winds helped!! I had a newish collegue to work with, and the questions come in thick and fast. I honestly couldn't answer them, I just said because that's what we do. Maybe I should more inquisitive?

OH is attempting to wash my car, I did wipe the headlights and rear lights plus the number plates. We have lots of farms near us, so the roads are covered in mud.

I too need to write the dreaded Christmas cards, I haven't even attempted to start. I think I am takeing mum to do my nan and granddad graves over near Skegness today. We usually pop in a little pub for a hot chocolate to warm up after, no alcohol as I am on AD.

Today my headache has 'fingercrossed' finally subsided, I started with a migraine on Wednesday. Not feeling as drained, but OH had tidyed kitchen and living room before I woke up. bless him x

Well must crack on, washing to do and cards to enscript with festive jollies. take care x

It looks like DS2 has given me his stomach bug, so there goes the plan to get the rest of the Christmas presents today. I am really hoping that I get over it quickly and that the rest of the house doesn't go down with it.

Oh well it might force me to concentrate and get the rest of the sewing done.

    Much love to everyone xxxx

Hope everyone feels better soon, seems a lot of stress related migraines and bugs going round.

Need to get a jar of mincemeat to do pies today, cant believe I have run out of the ys ones I got 2 years ago  Other than that all Chrimbo cooking done.

Dgs has finally started sleeping till 7 am on Sundays after 3 1/2 years. I have always had an inkling that my dear neighbour ,whose habits are written in stone, still had his alarm going off at 5.15 in the summer and 6.15 in the winter which was waking DGs. Either the batteries have run out or its died a death at last. OH's nightmares always start at those times too and DGs uses his bedroom when he stays. Wouldnt mind the man retired 10 years ago.

Lots of bits to do today so I can hopefully put the decorations up tomorrow so think a bacon butty is needed to fortify my resolve. Net curtain need changing and the windows need a wipe first - not my favourite job but might warm me up a bit if nothing else.

Oh Ginny don't. Yesterday I had a flash of ooomh and excitement for New Year, started clearing and chucking stuff out - but it didn't last long and I sat back down here again. The windows was one of the things needing done...although the weather this week is horrendous I could still do the insides. I will do it.
    After this cup of tea.
    Probly.
  • Hi all.

So that’s Christmas done here. Just waiting for the remaining bits to arrive from online sales.
Cards written out 2 weeks ago, Posted.
House decorated & tree up about 2 weeks ago also.

Now, All I need to do next weekend is head to the local market to get some fresh fruits, vegs & meats.

This year, We can finally sit back and enjoy the run up to Christmas.

Ginny, Shame your not nearer. I have some unopened jar meat from last year. Not going to get around using it now.

SQ, I’m just as bad when it comes to lists, There everywhere. I have quite a bit to do, But I think I’m going to space mine out over the course of this week rather than pushing myself today. It seems I can’t shift this head cold that baby gave me. So I’m doing something easy for diner, Hot bath & early night for us!!
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy

Is there anything that will give a polish/shine to cushionfloor vinyl? I got new bathroom stuff in a black/silver sort of shale tile effect, and it shows every footprint and is seriously bugging me.
