It's been a home for waifs and strays here over night with the girls BFs who got stuck and both needed to stay over. Ones now gone home, the other has been told not to return until tomorrow....poor lad is so upset....he's welcome here but I can't keep him indefinitely.

About thirty years ago i visited a project on bad headache and migraine relief done by a university in Scotland and they found that imagining your hands getting warmer and warmer. Something to do with blood flow from the brain as far as I can remember.
I found dabbing forehead with a drop or two of peppermint oil helped and a cold cloth on head and neck. Not so good when drops of oil went into my eyes and I had to frantically rinse them with olive oil or any oil I could get my hands on!!
It certainly took my mind off the headache!:o
Went shopping with dds today and treated myself to a new jacket/coat at De*****m's sale. DDs talked me into a style I would not have thought of and a size smaller than usual and I saved £35 :j:j
Realised the coat i wear most days was bought for snow and heavy rain and although originally expensive (tkmaximus) makes me look a bit like "a puir wee soul"! Decided to smarten myself up a bit (preferably in sales and discount outlets.)
Family ecstatic I made home made pizzas tonight and feel a bit embarrassed as they cost very little to make.

Why would anyone think being treated like carp would not make someone unwilling to stay and that treated even worse when they wanted to leave would not change their mind? They are not exactly the brightest bulb in the box are they?"This site is addictive!"

Elona its complicated one side I thought were friends want me gone as I stand in the way of them doing some very dodgy stuff. The other side (head) wants me to say for the very reason I do stand in tbe way of things going very wrong.
However I cannot take the stress and strain so they will have to find a way to reign it in without me.0 -
Evening everyone
Nutty you are a lovely lass reminding us every month about the shopping vouchers and giving spares away. I love doing the same. I get vouchers for farmyard foods (don't cost anything) and if I see anyone with a biggish shop (need to spend £25+) I whip out me vouchers!
Today I cut out the Al-diddlydees vouchers and decided against using one (pasta sauce) and so left it propped up in the pasta sauce shelf. I have one final £5 off voucher to use there next week and will leave all the spare money off vouchers tucked in with the items I don't want to buy. Will be a nice surprise for people - can't wait to do it!
I also let people with small baskets when I have a bigger shop in front of me - unless I am dashing to school then I might say sorry and explain why I can't let them sneak in front of them. The look on people's faces is great and they will often shout out a 2nd cheery thanks and goodbye when they leave the store.
Pinkdebster - you are an inspiration cooking dinner when you can't eat it. Just make sure you have alternative treats to food so you still have a different but special time. I would say I don't know how you manage but of course you have no choice. One "good" thing is at least you won't have to diet in the New Year!!
Oh and I have only wrapped one present (and that's only cos it needs posting!) so next week I will also mainly be wrapping presents... well and attending all the events at school and rest of food shop and doing lots of that horrible stuff being with H.
lobbyludd - love the friendship gift idea which I am cheekily copying. I have a couple of friends I don't usually/always buy gifts for and don't want them to feel they need to reciprocate. We only buy for our children and some family/friends' children and no adults (sometimes DH and I exchange small gifts) so buying for friends is particular special for me.
gotta go and chase little SQ to bed... he's taking as long as possible going little monkey

Maryb, thanks so much for the link to Simon's Cat Santa Claws - I fear that will be Jeeves to a T! Had some friends round for tea today and he showed off shamelessly when he realised they were all cat lovers .... nearly knocked over several mugs of tea, stole some bits of muffin (???!!), then knocked a lamp off the shelf. The house habitually rings to one of us sighing or shrieking "Oh, JEEVES!". He likes to get under the tablecloth and squirm his way over the table, regardless of what is on it. But he is very lovely. Really.0
