Aw that's nice of you to say boultdj but I generally don't have anything interesting to say. I would probably bore you all witless.;)

It's been two years since having the little one. Time passes way too quickly. It's been the best two years of my life though.

2 years!! It dosen't seem that long ago.

    Hope all goes well Jem.
More planting ahead today, as well as taking DD to her Irish Dancing competition, which as you may remember from last year doesn't do good things to my blood pressure ...

I think I am going to clear a big piece of the membrane off the only big bit of soil left in my garden and let the mint spread, as it's free rabbit food. Or am I going to live to regret it do you think?!

    Morning everyone

I thought after such a lovely welcome I would come out of lurkdom. This is such a nice thread and feel like I know you all after following all the other tough threads.

It looks like a nice day here so after a couple of hours sorting stuff in the house I'm off into the garden to weed through the veg. Perhaps some allotment time too.

Before that sorting the kittens. A stray has given birth in my shed and apparently it's my responsibility to sort them out. I have managed to rehome two but still one to go. DH wants to keep one  and we already have two rescues. Plus I have to pay for the mum to be neutered tomorrow to stop another litter. Bye bye £55. It's so bad locally with strays there is no way any of the animal charities can help.

I hope you have a nice day. Off to play with the astonish again (told you I was dull;))

That's a lovely thing you are doing with the kittens and the mum Parsnip. Good luck with them.

Just a quick pop in. I've read everything since I last popped in, but not sure I'll be able to reply properly. I will be keeping several of you in my thoughts, however.

The clothing seminar was very good yesterday, although we slipped out at the break. We both admitted that we didn't want to spend any money on food so OH went and got some bread and we made fat sandwiches and had those in the park. The birthday drinks were lovely, and we both had a nice time. The husband of the birthday queen is a colleague of mine and said some very encouraging things which was very nice to hear.:o Then, on the way home, we met another friend on the bus that we haven't seen in awhile. His partner is working away for most of the summer. He has had a tough time recently and been working a lot, but we think we've managed to coax him to come over for dinner one night. They're doing up a house and don't have a proper kitchen.

About to head out to meet the new nephew. It is a bit of a long journey for us, so we're taking the clipboard and the meal planning info and will be finishing that up so we can head to the shops on our way home. Tonight I'm hoping to get around to deslugging the garden again. I think I removed something like 15 fat ones yesterday morning and the garden is smaller than most people's bathrooms! There is also a local cat who seems to have mistaken my garden for a litter tray. I spread down coffee grounds yesterday, so will have to a look today. Hopefully she hasn't dug up any more of my poor broccolis or dislodged any more of the slug defences I have set up.

I think its time for me to get a wriggle on, as my OH would say. Hugs to all who need them.

Parsniphead, I don't know where you are, but hereabouts there is a charity (Feral Cat Care) which helps with the cost of neutering & chipping stray & feral cats. I believe the Cats Protection League can also help. We have a feral boy living at the end of the garden, who we're feeding; I'm borrowing a trap from them to get him to the vet to be checked over, neutered (if not already) chipped, de-flea'd & wormed. Then it's up to him whether he wishes to stay out there or come into the warm with our other 3. We've agreed to go halves on vetinary costs and OH will sign a Gift Aid form too, plus our vet gives a special discount for rescues. Might it be worth your while seeing whether there's any help from smaller charities available local to you? The RSPCA just laughed; our local branch seem a bit clueless, TBH.

ETA: Fairyprincessk, cats hate the smell of citrus fruit. If you mince up orange or grapefruit peel & scatter it on your garden beds, they'll stay away. Has to be repeated weekly, but it does work.

Morning toughies, its taken me ages to catch back up, :)

well we have managed it and we are officially on holiday:j:j

but it has been hugely stressful had school PTA stuff on the go all week and struggled for time, but we made it, have left a few bits at home by accident so will need to buy replacements but nothing expensive thankfully.

I am in full alert mode and am expecting little sleep as we are in a caravan and DS9 keeps escaping and racing about, poor research on my part means we are less than 100 feet from a lake! which is a bummer.

But we got here in one piece and there hasnt been too many meltdowns, OH meds have kicked in so he is calmer and DS15 was given anti axiety meds this week too so they should kick in at some point too.

Sending hugs to all and will try to keep up internet signal allowing :)

    Question (again!)
Where to buy large muffin trays to bake these wee individual quiche thingies?
