Morning all.
Stil, Great news about the little one.!! Hope she enjoys the party.
Cornish, fab you finally sold your car.
Another late day today. I have doctors at 6, Then will have to wait around for prescriptions no doubt. I have a few for OH from the dentist too.
Then, We assumed that we was having a quite weekend, Now that's changed as we've been invited out for a birthday meal.
It seems i'm never going to have a quite weekend to get our place in order and get rid of half the clutter we have.
I am hoping to get most things on ebay, But with it all changed since I last used it, I don't know whether its worth using now as friends has told me its more expensive now.
One thing I do "need" is a new umbrella! Mine broke yesterday whilst I was out so I was walking around with a wonky brolly!Future goals:

Morning toughies - sounds like there is lots of positive vibes around this week which is lovely to hear.
We are mad busy and there are lots of appointments this week as well, having to start looking at colleges for DS15 for next year and about to start the battle to get a full support package paid. Eeek.
Have also been racing through Christmas shopping, I did start in August but lost momentum, maybe through indecision and partly through OH not being helpful in helping me decide. I made the decision this week that he isnt here enough to be able to offer any sort of meaningful input any more so its all down to my decision making this year. So I have hit the internet and made a good indent, meaning I have three of the four kids all main presents bought and just the little bits to go. DD19 needs a new phone, so thats next on my list to organise.
Have even got alot of the other presents for people sorted as well, hoping to have a baking day next week and make mini Christmas cakes for the teachers.
I am barely managing to do everything I need to at the moment, so once December hits I will fail dramatically unless I get this done now. I have set myself a deadline of 28th November to have Christmas shopping all done and wrapped.
With school plays, dance recitals etc December is horribly busy and I need to clear the time to not be rushing from one to the other -last year I was sat in one childs play panicking I would be late for something else, I really want to enjoy it this year.
Popped into Mr T this morning to buy the selection box offer ( buy 2 get 2 free) and they have finish rinse aid £3.50 a bottle - on offer 3 for £2. I bought twelve bottles and was expecting to have to argue that they had overcharged me - but the full amount came off, so I got 12 bottles of rinse aid for £8. Our machine appears to have an addiction to rinse aid so this was really good value for me.0 -
Morning all.
Have snatched a few moments here out of what has been a ridiculous week. I'm still trying to get my winter clothes sorted out, most of my clothes - summer and winter - are in piles all over the bedroom floor. Have to get them sorted and stacked away before any prospective ministers come round to look at the manse. Horror!!!! There are 101 other places that also need to be cleared up. It would be fine if the rest of life stopped while I attended to the house. Unfortunately funerals, coffee mornings, visiting sick people, giving talks to various groups, shopping, cash and carry visits, writing magazines and a zillion more activities still have to be organised. When we move I am NOT going to get involved with any churchy stuff. Mind I did say that when we arrived here.
I did have a quick flip through the thread last night but can't remember much.
Well done on the car sale Cornish. It's lovely to have a bit of spare cash behind you. I am seeing if there is anything I can sell before we move. I decluttered my old sewing machine to my DIL's son's fiance's mother at the wedding, so one thing down, only about 57 things to go!
I am also going to over haul my finances. There are Direct Debits going out that I think I might prune. For instance I have been paying a dental insurance for about 20 years now and up till now it has been OK. I've had everything done free and only paid a minimal amount for a crown. However, the rules seem to have changed and having lost part of a tooth I have been quoted over £700 for a crown. That seems excessive to me so I'm not sure whether to continue the insurance or not. Sod's Law will be that I immediately need a lot of treatment if I stop it.
Just thought that it has been over 20 years since I had a crown and perhaps £700 is perfectly reasonable now.
While writing this I have answered the doorbell once and the phone 3 times so I'd better stop and get on with some work.
Hoping everyone is feeling better than they did, or at least can see light at the end of their own particular tunnel.

Monnagran a crown on NHS is £200 max - I was at dentist yesterday and memorised the poster to stop myself passing out!0

Hi Monnagran - I have just had a crown done and it cost £200 on NHS.jac. x P.S. I am about the same age as yourself and on basic state pension (no pension credit) so it should be the same for you I think.0

Monnogran check to see if there are any NHS Dentists taking on patients in your area."When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us" Alexander Graham Bell0

Morning, well it's morning here.
Crowns! Don't get me started on them. I had one done last December into January this year. It cost a fortune but Canadian dentists are expensive. I have insurance through work and the husband has insurance from his work, so you'd think mine would have been almost free. Well, nope. I was $900 out of pocket after the "specialist" drained both of my dental plans. Prior to this one the most I'd ever wound up paying was $50. But the tooth involved this time was a bit of a freak and needed specialist care, double rooted and some other freakish thing.
My Christmas shopping is nearly done. It's the wrapping I'm not looking forward to!
I have to book the Collie in for his winter hairdo. Which means I need to get something nice for his groomer. They always do such a good job.
Have a good one!0 -
Hi everyone, had a busy day again. Yesterday I ended up working up all day. Then today I have been to aldi first thing with mum. At 830 in the morning the car park was already nearly full. There was definatley more in the store shopping this week. Took DD for her pre op assessment, all ok so 18th is still the date for her nose job, seriously she has major nose bleeds.
Went into work, said collegue has been given 3 weeks off and has to attend a councillor, they will decide then if they are able to work. She did admit to drinking at work, not sure I want to work them........ will it be the same?? I just don't know.
I am now waiting for OH to come home, and its looking like I have a good few days off. Ebay listing here we come !!!
Take care everyone xBSC member 137

I went into our local Aldi this morning and it was heaving, I've never seen so many people in there and it's the very first time I've actually seen all the trollies gone from the store at the front of the shop, they were all in use, it has to be good for the company but I really think it's because more people are struggling to make ends meet and the produce is so reasonably priced by comparison with the other SMs. I also went into Mr.T for a couple of bits and everything has gone UP yet again. The l/f greek own brand has gone up from £1 to £1.10 it seems to change every time I go in, I wonder how the justify these constant price hikes, it surely cant be right can it? It feels greedy to me as a shopper and I've stopped buying much there at all.0

Just got back from a Aldi, heard the woman on the tills saying they had been told their store was up 25% on visitors and. Morris ons down the road was losing customers every week..
Got a pork roast in the oven for dinner tonight, also roasting off a ys chicken for tomorrow and Saturday when family over . Think I'll try and squeeze a parkin in seeing as the oven is on. But my house is toasty warm .
P's Aldi have Xmas spices in for 99p so stocked up on them. Xtoday's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.
Living on my memories, making new ones.
