    Evening all

Well done on selling the car Cornish. I've been eBay listing for 2 days, have put some bits on the local FB selling pages too. I want rid of the clutter and need to start tucking some money away to get the house repointed next year.

Finally fished making my door curtains today, the last one was a "insert rude word here" as it needed to be a three layer one. It's for the doorway between kitchen and dining room, we have no room for a door so it needed to look pretty from both sides when pulled....typically one of the fabrics was a lot narrower than the other so I've had to be creative. It's got a thermal layer in the middle and the differnce in temperature when it's pulled across is unbelievable.

Dinner was a supercharged parsnip and spinach soup to start with a jacket spud and beans for mains, cheap and cheerful but lovely and filling. I could eat jacket spuds everyday with a pile of beans or salad.

Nice to see you back Byatt and Jem :)

All happy chez stilty today - the power of a nearly 5 year old nagging has wrought wonders overnight (and maybe a twinge of conscience) and DD was presented with a birthday invite this morning as the birthday girl is apparently 'desperate' to have DD at her party. DH was quick to reassure mum that of course whichever one of us brought DD would stay for the party.

I've spent all day at a meeting of a parent carer forum that I belong to and also managed to volunteer myself for a couple of other things - will be good to get out and about a bit more doing grown up stuff which was one of the aims (all be it fairly way down the list) of DH not working. Will be useful for both myself and other parents contributing and will also give me something CV wise for when I am finally able to do some sort of work again. (Plus they pay travel expenses and provide lunch - what's not to like!!!)

Pooky can you tell me more about thermal curtaining.. I want to make a door curtain for my single glazed kitchen door, the cold is terrible in there when the wind is from the north. I wanted a light pretty curtain more than a heavy cosy one, and thermal seems to be the best idea. What kind of material do you get and where do you get it?

You can buy thermal curtain lining by the meter, just have a google and I'm sure it will throw up plenty of sites.

I actually used a thermal, blackout lining I already had (well half of one cos it was meant for patio doors).

It's fab stuff. I've got thermal linings on all my curtains even though we're fully double glazed, it makes a huge difference.

    Evening all,

Great news stilts about DD, just shows what a child can do :)
thats why i joined the parents / carers group, a way for me to have adult conversations and get away from the norm. Also i wanted to give something back for all the assistance they've given over the past year,

aOT - know how you feel, i've had to up my meds to. The cold biting me. My backs knacking, really thought i may have to get the crutches again. :)

pooky thanks for tips regarding the curtains, can you guess what i'm going to doing over next few weeks ;)

brr jem, we love snuggling up in bed, sometimes i put the little on in my bedroom. Myself ds1 and 2 all clambering in with a hot chocolate and i read them stories. Yes i know were weird. We used to watch tv but we don't have one upstairs. All on the wants list though.

    well done cornish chick!

princess know what you mean we live in a world of credit. Right now were living off our overdraft and its rubbish. But everything has been paid for so far via cash.
The counselling sounds like its doing you a world of good :D

mar oh i can smell your soaps from here lush :)

Didn't go to my friends tonight, she isn't very well at all. Our children weren't happy but when i explained the situation ds2 calmed down so we sat with our drinks snuggled under the blanket watching scooby doo and walking with sea monsters.
DS1 and OH were out running, total nutters.

Well got a meeting tomorrow with the parent forum then back on with fast team. Looks like i'm going to be out from 8am to 8pm. Long day but the kids like the evening group.

    Morning all

Lovely and sunny here, 1st load nearly ready to go on the line then plan a 2nd load to go out on the airers. No probs with DS6 this morning going in to school and both DH and I got lots of "you're the best mum/dad/parents yesterday eve and this morning" (which we don't usually get) so good to see him happy again as he usually is (so much so in our house we say "as happy as DS6's name")

DH is working from home so save on train fares and get to spend a little quality time together at lunchtime having lunch or whatever ;).

Then rest of day generally cleaning and tidying round before coffee morning at mine tomorrow. Decided not to stress about baking cakes for once so bought some in FarmyFodders (very good value too) so have enough time to sort the house out.

Bin day here today... feel annoyed as usual at the perfectly good stuff chucked out that could be rehomed. Sometimes I stop and look at anything that could be rehomed but DH would see me today and I am determined to clear our clutter out first.

Feeling proud of myself for managing to prise open the old skylight in our bathroom after many years of being closed, took a lot of effort and cleaning out gunk. I tried in the past and couldn't do it but finally it's done. This morning no condensation drips in bathroom falling on our heads RESULT!! Still needs more cleaning, the grills are clogged and difficult to access, think I might have to climb on flat roof to clean from outside too, not looking forward to that but needs must. First steps in jazzing up bathroom, its sorely needed.

Ok washing ready, back later when I have me tea break to read posts and reply

    take care me luvvies
    sq :)
