  • We had a fantastic evening, so many kids I lost count but I've nearly finished the 6 dozen cakes I made this morning and have just a few kitkats left. Had real fun with the decorations I made a spook to hang in the big apple tree with an old sheet, a newspaper, a carrier bag, some black tape and a wire coathanger, put out the lanterns with tea lights in and some jars with tealights in all down the drive so the littlies could see thier way to the house and made the pumpkin as non scary as I could, smashing evening, lovely kids!!! Lyn xxx.

I just bought three small pumpkins the eating kind, a green one, a striped one and an orange one from the farm shop, and inserted plastic fangs from wilcos and gave them drawing pin eyes, something I saw on Pinterest. We'll eat them for dinner tomorrow.

We don't get trick or treaters here...too rural. DD was hoping to get some, she'd made some spooky halloween crayons to hand out too, they were well received last year, but she was in the next village, loads more kids there!!!

    Xmas Saver!
We had a total of 3 knocks. :(
2 were on their own ( with parent) and one was a group of 4 ( with parents). So a massive 12 sweets gone. If I had known that was going to be it I would have let them take a handful each. I limited it to 2 each incase I ran out. :rotfl:
  • Well only 4 lots of kids here, still half a tub of hero's left.
like opening Pandora box,:) the Temptation!!!
I have made gf cup cakes, they are in the oven now. Hope they come out all right. Lemon ones tonight, if it works then plan to make vanilla ones tomorrow. I didn't use flavorings, I used a lemon, tomorrow plan to use a pod. As noticed all my flavoring all had "MAY " contain gluten...so didn't want to risk it.

I meant to post this earlier but got sidetracked. From the BBC:
14 low tech ways to keep your house warm over the winter.
Most are low cost too - I'd never heard of chimney balloons, currently my unused fireplace has a couch up against it and large sheets of black sugar paper taped over - a bit unsightly.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • :( Gf cup cakes. Fail. In fact they sunk in the middle.. any suggestions Guys?

    Evening all!

Glad you enjoyed the lights Kidcat :)

fuddle your home sounds lovely and perfect!

Well we a kind of good day, had a run in with the witches and it took every ounce of my self control to stop myself from going over and smacking them all with a wet fish.
They were extremely nasty to my youngest and lets just say the staff got involved and were told if they didn't control themselves and they kids then they would have to leave. Its disgusting they created so much tension and were so horrible to other people who i have no connection it was unreal. They spent the entire time glaring at me and watching my every move. Truly horrid.

We went to family fun day with four really good friends, saw a few other peeps and chatted to them. It was all going really well, lets just say me and LA were so doped up it was real. So we were all in a fit giggles. afterwards we all went to LA's house and scoffed lots of yummy home made food.

We were all then supposed to go to halloween party but when i found out the witches were going, i thought no way not a chance. I've dealt with them sober but drunk no way.
So we all decided not to go and had very up set children.

Came back and watched 8 legged freaks, i am truly traumatised i hate spiders. For the time ever we had halloweeners, sad i know.
So we got rid of half a bowl of sweets, but as soon as the rain started they all stopped coming. Still plenty left for us!:o
It was lovely though seeing they costumes aww

Couldn't make ds2 go to the scary walk, it was just to much for him, OH wasn't impressed but in the end we just came back.

But apparently i have to go another halloween party tomorrow night, lol i am required to dress up and enjoy myself haha. I was told i had no choice and i'm expected to torment lots of children with my witchy tickling hands muhahahahahah
So no getting out of that one then lol

DS2 really enjoyed wednesdays spooky party, it was very busy and loud so it was a bit much for him. But he enjoyed playing with my friends children so its all good.

Just shattered but everytime i close my eyes i see spiders urghh

P.S regarding my commment to pops about being judgemental i do stand by it. I am fully standing by it. As far as i am concerned i get enough of it real life and people shouldn't be judged by how they dress, what profession they in etc

If anything has been said and if this person has said something nasty directed at myself on they blog i will be having them done for slander. I would never write something nasty towards them instead i have been fully honest and open, which is why i did state previously that i felt safe and secure on thread about pulling this person up.

But if people wish me to stop posting that is fine by me, i will not be bullied by this person and i feel sick writing this as i've it had all day off the witches and i am emotionally and mentally drained by it.

We have a 2up 2down tiny little dwelling but is sandwiched between two houses so hoping to pinch some of their heat ;) its night storage heaters and have no idea about how they work so any info would be great. Also on an electric prepay meter. I know it's more expensive but at least I can control my usage.x

Storage heater's are expensive, and I can only tell you how the old style one's work, but here goes, you should have 2 dial's, 1 marked input the other marked output, the input is how many 'bricks' are heated[that's how it was described to me by the council enginer when he came to do check's] and the out put number's contol when and how long you get the heat for, so if I was you I'd try the input at 1 for a few day's and read the metre every day, and if you want heat all day set the output to 1, if you just want it as a 'very hot last thing at night' heat then put the number up as high as you can, anything inbetween will need experimenting with.hth

p.s, welcome to your new home.

Morning toughies, I have been awake all night, and of course now its almost time to get the kids all up I find my body wants to sleep, so am trying to keep myself awake and going.
OH has gone off to Edinburgh again, he arrived home at 6.30 and left again at 2.30am, which is definitely not safe. He must have had less than four hours sleep and doesnt function without sleep. He wont now be back until midnight which means another day and night with no respite from it all - and another evening of hell when he isnt here at bedtime.

I have switched energy suppliers and its all due to go through on Monday, I know a few others have recently switched, can I ask if you think it was particularly quick this time? I was expecting it to happen December time, based on previous experience, but this has been two weeks.

Its costing me alot more than our last deal, but it was in the same range as all the available tariffs and at least its fixed until 2017 so I can budget and wont be worried about next years rises when they happen.
