Kez, sorry to hear you keep having trouble with those ladies - have a blast at the party to make up for it!

DS wasn't keen on hallowe'en this time, so had a dress up session at home, made some spooky biscuits and did pumpkins. We only opened the door to some friends, who texted beforehand, so didn't have to spend much on sweets either! Not a grouch, but he had such a bee in his bonnet about it that it didn't matter; having said that, we only got one lot of children besides the friends anyway, very quiet!

Early appt at the dentist today, then lots of housework, ironing, trips to the tip, so we have the weekend sort of clear.

We're switching energy providers, kidcat, have had a welcome email and can log onto new account already, less than a week after applying. Account says we'll be switched by the end of November, very quick! Like you, this tariff is a touch higher than currently, but one rate for each fuel, so much easier to keep track. Only got deal until spring 2015, but that will do us for now.

    A xo

Been having a quick 'catch up' with you all.

Fuddle Enjoy your new home - I'm sure the 'oldies' round you will get to love you as much as we do. As (dare I say it?) an 'oldie' myself its lovely to have young families in the neighbourhood.

DH & I did Halloween duty last night - DH loves it 'cos he puts on a mask when the children come to the door to frighten them back - they all love it so we get plenty of 'returns' each year. Choccy bowl nearly empty thank goodness! One lot came with quite full 'goody buckets' poor parents - kids will be on a sugar high for the next week ;)

Mrs L - I love cows too - such beautiful brown eyes & long eyelashes. Never too sure about sheep & goats though. I find the way the pupils of their eyes slant a bit unnerving!!

Monnagran - LOVE Pam Ayres - I know you'll have loved her show & so glad you could have some time for yourself for a change

Hope every one has a good day

    Morning everyone,

    Enjoy your weekend Mrs LW.

We had fun yesterday, went into town to buy a couple of poundshop bits to finish kids' outfits. DS9 was a zombie cowboy and DS6 a witch. Then back to finish making them and decorate the front. An early tea and on with the outfits and face paint whilst simultaneously answering the doot to trick and treaters. Some friends joined us once the menfolk arrived back from their toils so there were 2 sets of parents accompanying 3 exicted boys.

We have lots of T & Ts here and plenty of houses to visit, lots of fun with the costumes and decorated houses, the sweets and cakes were just a bonus. Some homes had run out of sweets the time we reached them. One man hid in his wheely bin and burst out the top with a roar every time people approached the house - DS6 jumped out of his skin but still enjoyed it. Such a good atmosphere in our local area. Usually we walk further but our boys' friend has extra needs and can't walk long distances and boys insisted we walked into town earlier rather than drive so we stopped when the going was good.

Then back to our house for boys to have a play and as adults hadn't eaten we sent the men off to the chippie to fetch a late supper. DS6 was over the moon being allowed to stay up way past bedtime, creep in to the kitchen to sneak chips off our plates and eat (a small amount of) Halloween goodies.

Had one slightly dodgy experience with some teens after dropping friends home. They watched me park up and get out of car and I wondered why they were staring so intently. Then saw their makeshift outfits and they said trick or treat? I said it was a bit late for trick and treating but I would see if we had anything left. When I returned one of them was swearing, I gave them the benefit of the doubt (and didn't want any trouble) and assumed they were "talking" to each other and not directing it at me. One of them did said thank you politely as they left so that felt better. It was a bit strange though and after that I took down the outdoor decs and locked up for the night.

Having a quiet morning. I woke too early again like you kidcat but couldn't go back to sleep. Will have a bit of a tidy up and chill out and then same friends back here after lunch.

    sq :)

I got a letter yesterday from our gas supplier saying prices rising from 1st Dec and they expect my bill to go up 13%! I am in a deal til the spring and as we are not high consumers, not sure if it's worth paying the exit penalty. I am going to look at the t&cs though as I know some deals you can get out of if you do it within x days of price rise.
  • Morning everyone.

Feeling very rough this morning. Brother has managed to pass his germs to me & our youngest brother. So we're both coughing, sneezing, ect.

We had no t&t last night. We never do, Because we're in the back of a cul-de-sac, Most parents limited their children to staying on the main road. Rightfully so too. I cant believe the amount of children that was out without an adult until late last night.

Got dentist again today. Means another sedation. Just for xrays. Because my previous dentist has managed to loose 2 of the 6 I've already had done. Think its going to be a long afternoon!!

MRSLW: I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Kezlou, Enjoy your party. Hopefully you will be able to let your hair down.

Hugs to anyone who needs one.

Kez, please continue to post. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's a open forum. Not everyone on this planet, let alone this thread, can agree on everything.

Sounds like some of you had a fab time with your kids/t&ters. We didn't get any, the village is quite good, you don't knock on anyone who isn't obviously open to it. The years we have encouraged it we've had lit pumpkins on the drive and candle jars up to the front door.

I'm feeling very run down this week, really strange sore throat (feels like somene is pressing on my windpipe and it's hard to swallow) but today is a quiet one so hopefully my body can fight it off. I started taking supermarkets own version of ber0cca about a month ago which has helped my energy levels loads, I think it's probably why I'm on the verge of this thing instead of actually suffering.

Need to pop out for some essentials, today's essentials are satsumas, milk, a bottle of wine and some chocolate! It is Friday after all! DD1 got paid yesterday so she's itching for a look in primarni, DD2 gets her pocket money today for the month so I guess that will be wisely (not) spent too!

Pooky Try gargling with soluble aspirin (if you can take it) it really does work wonders for nasty throats - I use cheapo sm variety
