Sorry, mine isn't the best due to a sacroiliac joint disfunction flare-up, otherwise I'd send it down to you!
Thanks floss,
just had a cuppa and one of DHS painkillers, same ones as doc prescribed for me, but he gets free prescriptions so feeling better. Going to do the tidying in bits and stop for cuppas and cake or chocolate, for medical reasons of course:Atoday's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

Hello to all. Is now lovely and sunny here but morning was grey and cold.
I've been very saddened by the way the atmosphere on here has changed because when I first found you all earlier this year I was so relieved and delighted at joining such a welcoming, caring and supportive thread. I agree we all have our own opinions and cannot agree on everything but would hope we can get back to supporting each other without arguments.:)
Talking about hostile marriages - my parents never agreed about anything and always did their level best to upset or annoy each other. It was a terrible atmosphere to grow up in and so very sad that even at the end of their lives -when both were ill and frail - the warfare had to carry on.:(:(
I have a friend who worked for the DWP for more than 20 years. She always says that the organisation now is not what it was when she joined. Then everyone from the top down worked to help those unfortunate enough to be unemployed but that now staff are just ordered to take as many people as possible off benefits. She had to leave in the end as could not stand it any longer.
Enjoy your evening Mar. Sounds like great fun.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Hi.
I'm playing truant from writing the church magazine. Sometimes I need a break from holiness. Not that my magazine is unnecessarily holy, in fact it's pretty entertaining in parts, but I do need the odd injection of normal life.
We are going out tonight, and it's not to a meeting about church finances, or a church council meeting, or a rehearsal for the Christmas production, or a meeting to plan the next fund-raising event, or a meal with church stewards where all we talk about is.........
No. Tonight we are going to spend 'An Evening with Pam Ayres.'
I can't wait to see if she does her "50 Shades of Grey" poem. I'll let you know tomorrow.
Mrs LW and Katie: How awful for you both to have to grow up in that atmosphere. My parents adored each other all their lives, in fact I think we children learned very early on that, although they loved us both very much, we were something of 'add-ons'. Once we were grown up they regarded their job as completed and went back to their mutual adoration. In fact my brother and I agree that the real attention and 'child-worship' was provided by our maiden aunt who we both still miss terribly.
Oh! Come on Joy, she'd be 107 if she had lived till now.
Saying of which one of our church members is 100 today - she still lives on her own and turns up at church every Sunday morning.
The party is on Saturday.
Back to work........Sigh!
