I think its another case of lost in translation - I read it that Pops was saying he wasnt the only one having issues with the LA housing people and that the stories were coming from reputable places, not the ones portrayed in the media.
But on re reading I can see how from a different perspective it could read in a different manner, hence Kez being upset.0 -
Both Kidcat...the media and politicians play the stereotypical cards of image etc...but over the years I have heard(and read)examples from people of all ages(young and elderly)and I have no idea what they look like. And image is a bad way to think you know someone."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I'm not passing judgement or taking sides, I have read Pops post and he's quoting what other people have said in terms of names for parts of society, not name calling himself and not deliberately being objectionable to anyone who might be categorised in either of the sections of society named. I only comment because I am certain that this thread is run on democratic lines and not subject to censorship. I don't have to agree with a post or its contents to stand up for allowing a poster to express an opinion. No offence meant to anyone, I certainly intend none.0

well I am back from my meeting at work, I gave my notes in and said my piece. I also apologised if I had said things in not quite the right manner, it was hard to express exactly how it made us feel.
A letter has been left for said person to attend a meeting next week, then they will sort out what is going to happen. I can see that the atmosphere will be hard over the next week.
I made fish pie for tea tonight, it was frozen fish from mr s, it was £1.50 for 7 pieces of value white fish. I cooked it in milk, and then mashed it with cheese sauce and added potatoes on top.
Just have to wait for OH to arrive home from work.BSC member 137

well done Nutty - you have handled a difficult situation in a calm and adult manner, lets hope they can now deal with it once and for all for you.0

All i;m saying is just try and NOT be so judgemental.
You have said many things that i have not agreed with in the past, which have been on here and not on your blog. But i have not mentioned because quite frankly i don't like confrontation. This is true of myself in real life and on the net. your blog i haven't looked at so no idea if you have written anything on there.
As lynn says this is democratic thread which i why i felt comfortable being able to point out and say pops stop being judgemental. If i didn't think it was democratic i wouldn't have said it.
We deal with judgemental prejudice people in our everyday lives and i feel that we shouldn't have to deal with it on such a lovely thread where people can come and support each other from every walk of life.0 -

Didn't know I had been judgemental, don't like confrontation, this came out of the blue so what can I say? I always thought I supported many on here, how wrong can you be?"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Eek! Are things getting a bit heated?
Pops: You are someone who has dealt with some difficult situations recently and you don't find living easy, do you? But you are making great efforts to build yourself a life and you are learning new skills all the time. Don't worry about the HA people. If you feel at all intimidated just picture them sitting on the loo. It works every time.
Kez: You are a lovely person who is always looking out for people worse off than yourself. I do admire the way you are not afraid to stand up for what you see as just and fair. You too have gone through some awful times and have emerged as a strong, moral person.
You are both right and both super people. Can we draw a line under any disagreements now? Let's get on with doing what we do best. Supporting each other through thick and thin.
Now I will shut my patronising self up.
Nutty: You will be relieved to know that we had a good session on Sunday night and everyone living in tents or under the pier was found some shelter for the night, even if it was just a patch of someone's floor. They helped each other - as they always do and we managed to find shelter for anyone who could not be accomodated.
What I really want is to win the lottery and buy a disused hotel so that no-one need sleep on the streets again. I can dream.
We were taken out to lunch today. Lovely, and the best thing is the kitchen has stayed so clean and tidy. That's obviously the answer - don't cook in kitchens.

MONNAGRAN if ever anyone deserved to be taken out to lunch it's definately you and the Rev. I hope it was delicious and delectable and that you could both relax for a couple of hours, goodness knows you both need to!!! Lyn xxx.0
