Pops there is an npower rep on the gas and electricity MSE forum bit, you could try asking in there and see if they reply?0

Pops - the utility companies have been given a really hard time about letting people be in credit on their accounts, so I suspect they're going to try very hard to give it back to you, as that's a lot of money to be in credit. I think that anything more than about £100 will be a problem, but as kidcat says, try the gas/elec boards.
It might be worth you setting up a bank account which lets you allocate money to different pots, or even just doing the same on a spreadsheet, or with a current account and a linked savings account - so if you budget the same amount for energy each month, then they take what they need (lots of them let you pay for what you've consumed exactly if you give a meter reading) and you put the rest into a savings account, then it's there for emergencies, and you have a note of what budget the 'savings' were made against.0 -
I started to write a post over there and just was coming to an end and my laptop skipped to another area of MSE and I lost it all:mad:and as it was unexpected I had not got around to saving it.
You've explained matters I think greenbeeI'll put it to one side if they refund and use it later as and when. I refuse to spend it elsewhere which could happen.
Got Mum's clothes bagged up in sacks to go through now...my clothes in the wardrobe unit, everything washed/dry. All the bedding/towels in the airing cupboard.
Tomorrow I'll hoover the place...small steps...garden rubbish is supposed to be taken away today. Well, most of it. Quite organised I'd say."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

pops thats pretty unfair to call people those kind of names as for all you know the people you could be calling might need extra assistance. They on your back because previously your house was in a state and now due to government changes they have to check up on you to make sure your okay health and support wise.
Its pretty despicable to put a face with a stuck out tongue, i mean after all your on benefits so does that make you a scrounger or are you just an ordinary person living they life? Your living in a house which could be used to house a family but instead your HA is supporting you instead of saying like they are to many other people to leave they homes for somewhere smaller.
How do you these "chavs" are not respectable people, my BIL lives in his tracksuit and looks like a "chav". But he works 60+ hours a week, supports his girlfriend and 3 children who aren't his biologically. Pays full rent and council tax, but when he's off work he slouches around in a tracksuit, hoody and rides his mountain bike. I know a lot of people who are like this.
I sorry if this offends anyone but i think pops needs to stop being so judgemental.0 -
well came back form camhs we are now on the referral list, next appointment on the 29th november.
Gailey don't bother getting the game set from argos were taking it back. The games are absolutely tiny and less than the size of a travel game and no where near as sturdy.
I now understand why it said not suitable for under 3's
DS2 was not happy when he opened the box, his hand and eye co-ordination are all over the place so really he needs the larger pieces.
Oh well we live and learn.0 -
I'm sorry Kez you've misinterpreted my post...I do get on with authority figures most of the time. And have been seen by some decent people from other departments. You'd have to be here to really know how they come across.
Just not keen on these particular two. I was from memory sticking up for people and said it was wrong how some are seen as chavs, scroungers and called other derogatory terms. I hate these terms. I have never used such terms myself about people I see and am one of the least judgemental of others that I can think of.
I don't remember referring to how people dress(but again I'll look)I have some clothes myself like you suggest.
I'll take a look at the post and see if I can see where what I said was seen the way you have taken it."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I know from anecdotal evidence they are disliked and these are decent people not the kind that are usually called scroungers, chavs and other horrible terms.
your words, pops.
you say horrible terms but yet your using them yourself and comparing to people you know personally as decent people. There by judging others without actually knowing them personally.0 -
Anecdotal evidence as often portrayed in the media and by politicians etc...which I don't believe like some of the loaded documentaries on C4 and C5...and I'm saying many that are called such terms are decent and the terms used are horrible and wrong. I think society is too judgemental on many things. I work on the idea that you have to walk in someone's shoes to really know what its like for others.
I did not say I know anyone like that myself. I certainly hope I didn't. Maybe the error is that I did not add from the media and politicians somewhere?
I'm not sure what a chav looks like? Its a term bandied about...you mentioned your BIL wears tracksuit bottoms...guess what. I'm wearing some as I type this. I have a hoodie too. I would say wearing some of the clothes are sensible and practical in many cases.
Again I should have included the press as they can be lazy. The other night the BBC talking about unemployed teenagers showed stereotypical images(you guessed it dressed a certain way to illustrate the point)If we're talking yobs another horrible term they exist even if dressed sharply.
So I'm not sure where the disagreement is...I've gone over my blog for the past month to try and find the reference and can't see it so I am now assuming its on here somewhere so I'll go off and have a look. I can't be fairer than that."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

You've given me a job...I've gone back through nearly two weeks on here...and will once again check my blog but might have to do that tonight.
I'm amazed it has been seen as it appears to have been..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I've read your posts pops and I don't think you were being judgemental or doing any name calling - those derogatory terms are much misused by the media and others.
Perhaps kezlou you have just misread the thrust of what pops was actually saying. And I most certainly would condemn the use of these terms and any judgements made on the basis of what type of clothing any person chooses to wear.
I hope you can sort things out the both of you, don't like to think of discord on this lovely thread.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0
