ooh tempted by the aldi sc. mine was a christmas present mnay moons ago which is branded "you are what you eat" - can't abide the woman whose brand it is - but has worked hard. The lid handle is chipped away and the dial falls out of the pot exposing wires, but y'know it works so loathe to spend cash on another one.
but maybe.....:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -
I'll have to wait on the sc though to see if ds's duvet survives the boil wash. We have been having a Mexican stand off to see who cracks first on tidying his room: every day I ask, every day he promises. well today I went in and it smells like a hamster cage in there
. So clearly he won, I've cleaned most of the detritus and his duvet is being washed in napisan as it smells horrible.
after this, I'm going to lock away his electronics if he doesn't keep it at least hygenic.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -

....floss thank you so much for the info
quick question though would it be any good to up blackpool tower and do the eye thing after 6pm?
Thanksxxx
I haven't been up the Tower since the new Eye opened, but I would say "yes"...the later the better as you'll see all the lights all the way up & down the Prom! Another good viewing place is on the Big Wheel on Central Pier0 -

Did I say? I've dug my Slow Cooker out today and soon will be having(for supper)a vegetable/ham HM soup....
Its good to be using it again. I was going to set it up with my timer and I am unable to:(:mad:because every socket has a cupboard above and the timer is too long in height to fit underneath. The only remaining sockets are at ground level and the SC would have to sit on the kitchen floor."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Yes that's the one! It's the best one I know in town! It was only a few months ago that I discovered it myself!
I am also ashamed to admit it, but I didn't know that lovely little grassy area with the craft and gift shops at Blackfriars existed until a few months ago either! It was when I started going to Bubble Cha, the Taiwanese bubble tea cafe at the end of Stowell Street that I actually went round the area on foot and realised these places were there!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
I'm another slow cooker fan - at the weekend I made a lovely sausage and baked bean casserole in mine! I've had mine for a couple of years now, got it at Asda for £9. It's just an Asda own brand, it's very good :-)the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0

Morning GK,
I need time(and money)to go around that Asian Market and do it justice and buy wisely...to be fair there isn't much like it nearer to where I live and as it takes about 90 mins there and back on public transport/mobility is poor a visit needs to be worth doing(shopping trolley/knapsack)
I'm amazed what can be made in a slow cooker. You can do so many dishes(even it takes longer)not just stews/casseroles. It is possible to do two items at once if the pot is lined with foil/roasting bags are used.
Or you set two SC's away(and depending on how many are in the household)you can vary the size of the SC used at the time. I have yet to do so but I can at some poinbt see me using(being single)two small SC's or cheat by using a SC and doing some items via a microwave.
Both are said to use less power than a normal electric/gas stove/oven. The microwave can be used more as you would a steamer. The trick is to make the food(items like potatoes etc...smaller in size)
I have used two microwaves before for a meal.
The soup worked fine and I can have the rest this lunchtime.
What a day weatherwise its really raining hard and I am supposed to be having my garden tidied from 9am this morning(I would not be surprised if its delayed)its ok with me. Any day will do me...even if it another week or two.
It was a good night at the Music Club and I had a comfortable night so ready to face the day and what it throws my way.
Have a good day everyone...:)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

If you can't plug in a timer for the SC as there are cupboards in the way, then could you use a short extension lead and then plug the timer/SC into that?
