We managed 12 on the quiz(winning score was fifteen and a half. We had guessed three more answers but left the spaces blank, so we would have still lost by half a point.
Yes hopefully all will be well tomorrow. As said the photo's has thrown me a little. Taking into account Mum passed away 18mths ago and was in care for another two months just suppose she had tried to get rid of anything that's nearly 20mths and I was around most of the time. So just when were they taken? But again not mentioned.
As the garden was not accessible they would have to come over the dividing fence. Or enter when the fence he erected had blown down(that happened 3 times that I know of)
I'll tell the HA and water company all I know. Did I say even when drains were blocked and the work was carried out my sink, toilet and bath were still working so get that!
Pops, i think these idiots are trying it on, all this talk about adult nappies and photographs is hogwash.
I would go and pay a visit to the HA, make sure you take the notes they sent and show them to the HA staff. and let them handle it.
Make sure the HA staff are aware you live alone.
All this notes under the door stuff and mysterious photographs is not how any normal person would deal with a genuine problem.0 -
Hugs to all and hope you have a good time Kidcat.
Had a lovely weekend at my parents then came back to earth with a bump. DH (who was very nearly not so D) put the computer bag on the top and it fell out when I opened the boot cracking the screen on my new (less than a week old) touchscreen lappy - thank heavens we took out the insurance is all I can say!!! - then got in to an email from his brother about the financial arrangements for his parents new place and it was not good so had to compose an email (tried talking to BIL on the phone but he just doesn't listen). The finances are one thing but in the renovation of the new flat for the parents BIL has installed one of those boiling water taps (at a cost of nearly £700!!!!!!) and FIL has dementia - so not safe I cannot even say- when we tell BIL he says he's been told they are really good for people with arthritis as there is no lifting a kettle!!!!!! Is he even on the same planet as the rest of us???? neither MIL nor FIL has arthritis but FIL has Alzheimers so is as likely to wash his hands under the damn thing as anything else. BIL doesn't think it's a problem, and anyway it's been installed now so can't be changed! (apparently)
Sorry for the chunter, still just struggling to get quite how out of touch he is.
Anyhow, will wait and see what response we get
Take care all -X0 -
Not chuttering at all SW...That's a difficult situation and I also know about laptops...this one has a cracked case. And when you tip it up something is loose inside, however, it still works so...hope you get it fixed asap."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Stiltwalker, maybe your BIL should go with his parents when they register with their new GP, to find out exactly what the medical issues are for them both? I can see why you are worried about your FiL's wellbeing, but he has to take on some responsibility for his parents now he has moved them to be near him. Fingers crossed he can see the whole picture when it is explained in writing, and doesn't just see what he wants to see. I suppose arthritis could be seen as less of a problem than Alzheimers so maybe he is in denial about his dad's illness?
Big hug for you (and your new lappy!)0 -
Morning all.
Welcome newbies!! ((waves))
So I cooked the pulled pork and it’s a winner here. I went with the BBQ style and OH wanted it plain with gravy. Both was amazing. Leftovers for today and some left for OH work rolls tomorrow. Downside is that we had to pay £7 for the joint, But a lot appeared fat (Suppose that’s MR T‘S for you) OH has suggested that next time we should get the meat from the butchers instead.
Had a nice quite weekend, Until, A few family members called me last night with more problems. I’m starting to take the attitude that its their mess up. Not mine. Usually I will get myself into a tiff - But not this time.
Managed to get loads of safety pins in the £shop over the weekend - And rather than buying more throws to line the curtains I’m using some I already have here.
So rather than spending £20+ on linings ect, It has cost me a £1!! O/S or what?
Weather is poor here, Very dark, Strong winds & heavy rain. Therefore today is inside jobs.
Have a lovely holiday kid cat. Drive safe!!Future goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
Morning All,
Not such a good answer from the water company today...non commital...suggesting I go and see CAB and/or my housing association so I am away now to see what happens...:("A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Pops - did you speak to the people who attended? I doubt helpline staff would commit to say anything, they will be covering the company's back.
I'm sure it will be fine.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Good luck Pops.0

Morning folks,
Hope you get some joy at the HA today Pops. I'm with everyone else you have done nothing wrong so don't worry unduely, just do as you're doing to cover your back. Those unneighbourly neighbours are trying to pull a fast one by the sounds of it.
Stiltwalker -your BIL sounds like hard work, sorry to hear of your in-laws problems and yours by default.
We had a lovely time at the fireworks Sat evening, lots of seasidey places open - fairground/rides, amusement arcades, cafes etc all lit up as was the seafront itself with modern coloured lighting and with music so boys especially DS6 were buzzing. They even had some of those low fountain sprinklers and kids and teens were running in and out - far too cold to get soaked for littllies and so ours were forbidden from going in. I had accidently left my handbag and purse at home and DH had some shrapnel in his pocket and no wallet so we could genuinely say no to requests for rides, food etc. DH gave boys his pile of 2ps though to use in the arcade which lasted a while as they kept winning them back. Whole evening cost a few pence on the arcades and a couple of pounds on petrol so a real winner!
Sunday was odds and ends day, finishing some chores and DS9's homework, changing beds, baths etc. Some friends popped by for a cuppa with their DS9 which broke the day up a bit.
Today DS6 is feeling poorly and his eye is red and swollen so off to the doctor's soon to get him checked out. DS9 is a bit off colour, packed him off to school and asked them to keep an eye on him. So shopping trip to Allydees is out but we have enough food just wanted more milk and fresh OJ (my treat!). DH can grab some milk on his way home as it's not a college night.
Don't fancy staying in today but will sit with DS6 when we get back from GP and do some sewing and get to pop on here later so not too bad really.
I am struggling getting the washing dry despite having a dehumidifier, rain forecast for days on end but where I can, I will stick washing out in line and do the mad dash to retrieve it as soon as the wet stuff comes down. Our friends who came yesterday were bemused as to why we didn't have a TD - I said we can't afford to run one - finding it easier to tell it as it is these days and not feel embarrassed. Friends appear on surface to be much better off than us (and they do have a higher income) but they have several maxed out credit cards, a loan and have re-mortaged more than once so all it not what it seems is it?
off out in a few mins. take care everyone

Morning everyone. I had planned to go out and do a little shopping but sky is grey, wind is strong and it looks like rain may be coming so have decided to stay in and have a baking/cooking/ repairing day. Not the most exciting.:p
(((HUGS))) to all who need them today - and that seems to be quite a few unfortunately.
Pops, sorry the water company not too helpful, hope you have better luck with the HA. Its just ridiculous the way some of your neighbours are carrying on.
Was in Newcastle on Saturday as part of my voluntary role so took advantage to have a look around and found a new Chinese/ Asian supermarket and bakery. Was very impressed and bought 5 100gm packets of spices for the grand total of £2.96. Very MSE.:money: Will definitely go back.
Well the breadmaker is on, the slow cooker is on (rice pudding) and I'm off to make some of Twink's Hobnobs. Hope you all have a good day.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0
