Stop right there. You do not need to spend anything.
If I have got this right, you have not yet responed to the notes. Do as Kate says, write back, say it was not you, that the Water Board cannot say it was you and that if they want to take if further they need to produce current evidence that the latest blockage was caused by you.
There is no need for expensive legal advice, they are trying it on,, and a smartly worded letter back should stop them in their tracks. If it doesn't, let them waste their money. It is up to them to prove it was you, not the other way around.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Also Pops IIRC you are in a rented property...so I'd just tell them it's nothing to do with me Mate....any problems speak to the landlord. Have a nice day.
They are doing what Mrs C says and trying it on. Don't raise to the bait. I know its difficult, when you are a bit of a worrier (like me!) to not see the worst case scenario, but in this instance, there seems to me nothing that can be forced upon you. So don't play, Stick your la la I''m not listening headphones on and go about your business

So I was having a quite afternoon when I got contacted from SIL saying that her & my brother may have broken up. Their both beside themselves. Found out the dreaded mother has again stuck her nose in and because brother & sil had an argument she has told them if they stay together that she is calling social services about baby , Stating that she has witnessed baby being left alone, She’s not being fed properly ect. Which is total bull!
She also told them she has a lot of standing with SS because she’s a nurse (Really a healthcare assistant.) The whole thing has made my blood boil. I cant understand why she is hell bent on hurting her own child and grandchild. Its sickening! My brother is completely broken hearted.
I really want to go around to this so called mothers house and give her what for. How wicked & nasty to make stuff up to suit her own bitter & twisted self. Baby is amazing & why she wants to ruin that I’ll never know!Future goals:

Now my garden is out of shape I have called someone in and been quoted around the £225-£240 mark but it does involve a lot of work but once down I could probably manage with a strimmer or a light weight mower. I don't know if I am being done. What do I know. I used to have a gardener Mum knew so he was inexpensive but it has to be done.
At least once its knocked down for Winter there is nothing to do until March.

PX87 it's not easy to stay calm when you're cross for those you love, but sometimes it is the only thing you can do to help. Don't add fuel to an already burning fire, try to make yourself the listening ear rather than the advice giver. There is really nothing you can do in a situation like this that doesn't have the potential to make things worse or to backfire and involve you too. Give the kids a peaceful haven to come to, they'll thank you for that more than sorting out the MIL pet, Lyn xxx.0

Found someone willing to do my garden for £150 and take everything away;)just have to make the phone call to cancel the original person.
There's me worrying over money and so many have more important problems of a personal nature. I wish I could do something to fix them..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Maybe try the selling site as down this end there is loads of gardeners, waste management companies advertising for business, Maybe you could get a bigger saving?Future goals:

Popperwell - stop worrying about the neighbour issue. (Easy to say, I know, but do it!!!)
Fact - you know you were not responsible in any way for the blocked drains.
Fact - The drains are now working.
Fact - The neighbours are totally barking if they think anyone will believe that load of old pony about a midnight raid on your drain cover and hoardes of nappies being fished out and photographed. If such a photo did exist, it still would not prove that it was taken on your property at a certain time, only a moving video film (with date and time on each frame) showing your address and the drain cover being lifted etc could come anywhere near possible evidence.
What to do?
Keep your cool. Get on with your life (which is obviously more of a life than your neighbours have). Keep in a file all notes/correspondence to and from neighbours, water company, anywhere else concerned with this matter. Keep a record of any phone conversations. If any more nonsense emanates from next door, and they state they think you are responsible for the problem, just say "I am not responsible for that blockage, I can prove that I am not, so I suggest you take it up with the water company. Good day to you." And leave. Do not get any further involved with talking to such loonies.
You have made yourself such a pleasant life, with your online friends and with your trips out and about, it would be such a shame to let fools spoil it. The onus of proof is on them, and they will fail miserably. One life - your life - live it!0 -
Isn't funny my HA has nothing to do with the drain problem and wanted nothing to do with the problem but are now kind of helping in a round about way...They phoned the water company and say someone(I assume the water company)will do a survey of the neighbour's property.
To get a better idea what happens next.
I may not care for him but the guy who called and had me do the clear out some months ago is calling on Thursday to have general chit chat about it all.
I suppose unofficially.
I have put my vacumn cleaner in for repair but will decide whether to buy a new one. The £20 charge can go towards the cost of a new one or the repair of the one I have already.
So a couple of bits of better news?:)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Thank you Nargleblast,
I sound quite worried but I feel quite calm if I am honest and will drop it for a while now. I guess I am looking for a definite end to matters.
The water company looked at the plans for this area and I appear to be in the best position for being near the sewer. So should have the least problems of everyone.
