Thanks Nutty,
All I know is that I have no knowledge of anyone coming into my garden, taking photo's or fishing adult nappies out of the drain.
I also know that in 53 years the drain has only been blocked twice(coincidence?)but only since the neighbours who are complaining moved in and did some alterations.
The two times the drain was unblocked none of the contractors said they had found anything like what the neighbours says was in there.
I have also remembered in the last few years the neighbour on the other side of me(who was ok this time)had a blocked drain and called someone in like DynaRod.
I can't decide if the neighbours are having a go at me or its the way the letters/notes are written instead of saying things like "Its your drain" and using the term "You" all the time. All I know is I have not put any "Adult" nappies into the system, I would not have thought that was possible but what do I know?
And again why did they not tell me or say something then. Even the water company said why did they not report the blockage themselves last Sunday leaving it all to me but I phoned ASAP. And admitting the taking of photos and opening up my drain is trespassing? And saying not a dickey bird.
I'm thinking of going through to the H. Association office as soon as they open tomorrow morning. Its too much to say on a phone. Its approx. 15 mins away on a bus.
The water company said different things to me to what the neighbour claims they have to him.
The water company said problems in the main system are hard to trace and said to me I had nothing to worry about, if I understand correctly you may have costs to pay if it can be shown that the fault is in the pipe coming out of an individual house but even when everyone else's system was blocked my toilet, bath and sink were working so figure that out.
Heigh Ho...
I'm going out tonight to play bingo, a quiz, sticky thirteen(a card game)and watch a turn(I've seen better entertainment)but it fills the night for almost three hours(I also need earplugs because the turns are so loud.
Tomorrow is another day.
You've been busy...:eek:I have a little bit but the hoover isn't working...needs fixing/replacing:mad:and the weather has been horrible here too.
I will have something nice when I come in from my night out. Even if its just salad...again.:p
Not an exciting day but tomorrow might be for all the wrong reasons..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Drains are fairly simple things - you and your neighbours have drains from your house that join the main drain. If you were not blocked, it means your waste water could reach the main drain. If your neighbours to the left (or rght) were all blocked then the blockage was in the main drain before it gets to you.
Unless you have a strange drain arrangement I cannot see how anything in a drain in your garden could cause someone else a problem - it would only block you.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Popperwell - sounds like a very good cunning plan, calling in at the HA office. Explain it all, show them the notes from the neighbours etc. If your neighbours are also HA tenants they may be breaching terms of their tenancy by harassing you like this and trespassing on your property. If not, the HA may be able to point you in the direction of further help and advice. Either way, you will have put things on record at the HA so that nobody can accuse you later down the line of not being a proper responsible tenant. Good luck - and keep schtum! No fraternising with the enemy or letting them know what you're thinking or doing. One life - your life - live it!0

Just log it a the police station so you have it noted for future reference. Ask for a community Bobby to come round for a cuppa or nip to see them. Just keep someone informed and get a reference number.
You will have proof for your LA that way as well.
I learnt this with our court issues over the kids, no they said/she said if it is logged there is no dispute.0 -
I hope you manage to get it sorted tomorrow Pops. Try not to worry though, it isn't your fault.
A small scale victory here - have managed to turn off the extra fridge freezer. We still have a chest freezer that we got for the business and our usual fridge freezer in the kitchen but at least it's slightly more manageable now! It will be interesting to see if there's any difference of note in the electricity bills. We needed all this refrigeration when we had a catering business but we really don't now, just had got used to having all the freezer space.0 -
Evening all
We've spent the day at home and, you know what we all enjoyed relaxing and, chilling.
Made a huge pan of veg soup and lots of fresh bread, you forget how nice the little things are. lets just say the whole pan, has, disappeared.
Been attempting to plan things out for the week. Everything is mental, so i've decided not to assist the school tomorow for standing in the cold and recruiting. I mean its purely for selfish reasons but I know they are also 10 other people to help out to.
Coffee morning is on tomorow, my partner in crime wont be, there. Guess what its my first time hosting it on my own. My anxiety is high as a kite. Everything should be fine, the library staff are lovely. so going to take my book , get the drinks ready and have a cuppa and, just wait for people to drop in.
Pops again you have nothing to worry about.
Glitter kitty oo exciting
Enjoy xx0 -
Kez, will pm you tomorrow after 1pm (info is on my works pc so will be on my lunch break
)
Well DH has gone off until Thursday, so am now home alone. All locked up & tucked up in the middle of our bed
Got all the ironing done, plus 4 shirts for DH (I don't generally do these on principlebut it meant he could drive in daylight), washed up, laundry done, fed & cleared the fridge of l/o risotto, watched Strictly results and then pottered around tidying before snuggling under the duvet
Busy (for me) week ahead: my turn to work the late rota all week; builders for quotes Tuesday evening; dr on Wednesday re my HRT then friend coming for tea & CV assassination; viewing a dream house with a friend on Thursday (no possibility of it ever being possible, but we've both said for years that we would view if it ever came on the market); DH back home; spa day with my bezzie on Saturday then it all starts again.
Can feel my eyes drooping so am off to settle down now, goodnight all and Pops - don't fret about the neighbours, speak to the HA and your water company, I am sure you will be reassured by them. When are the photos supposed to have been taken, and is it possible for anyone to get into your garden without any trace? It takes a bit of effort to lift a drain manhole cover, and generally can't be done quietly or without anyone else noticing0 -
Evening toughies - hope everyone has had a restful day
I have been manic packing and loading for tomorrow, most is done except for toiletries and the kids electrical stuff. Its been a crush though as its a much smaller car than mine, I had planned to remove the back row of seats of my car and have huge amount of space, so having a regular boot has been a shock and a lesson in why I have a tank usually.
Didnt get my nap as it was just too busy, but hey I got a good sleep last night.
DS9 has caused a ruckus today, he told OH that its a shame he cant come with us, maybe he should get a job that lets him spend time with his family! Then he asked me to call his swim teacher to say he wasnt going this week - OH says I can do that, DS9 said - err no its ok mum will do it - she does everything else nowadays.
OH wasnt happy, and probably thinks I prompted him to say it but the fact is the kids have realised what he is doing and dont like it.0 -
I had a cheap but nice night out and we had another lady join us because she was feeling a little down and I think it did her some good. Think she'll come again and may also start going to the music club on Tuesday.
We managed 12 on the quiz(winning score was fifteen and a half. We had guessed three more answers but left the spaces blank, so we would have still lost by half a point.
Yes hopefully all will be well tomorrow. As said the photo's has thrown me a little. Taking into account Mum passed away 18mths ago and was in care for another two months just suppose she had tried to get rid of anything that's nearly 20mths and I was around most of the time. So just when were they taken? But again not mentioned.
As the garden was not accessible they would have to come over the dividing fence. Or enter when the fence he erected had blown down(that happened 3 times that I know of)
I'll tell the HA and water company all I know. Did I say even when drains were blocked and the work was carried out my sink, toilet and bath were still working so get that!"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
