Hi everyone, finally a day off and what happens, youngest DD arranges to have her haircut and then her nails done. She works, so I only pay the haircut - she pays for her nails. Tonight she is going to an 18th birthday party and its themed as an Oscar's event. She has borrowed a dress and shoes from her sister.

So now I'm finally having 5 mins to myself. OH has rang to say he's on his way home and when he gets here he needs a haircut.

We need a new mattress for our bed, lidl have one but its a kingsize will it fit on a double divan base??

No - you need something smaller (well you need one that is the same size as your divan).

Had an embarrassing incident at the shops today, got paid tax credits yesterday, paid some rent off. Thought right lets get some shopping in seriously got nowt in the fridge. Get sorted for pack lunches next week.

Went to pay for it and you know what happened my cards got rejected.Absolutely fuming, in the end had to use business account to pay for £20 worth of shopping. OH was not impressed and was fuming, as i was i. I started having a panic attack and shaking all over.

Checked online banking and natsh!twest have over £120 off me interest and charges. Got paid £200 and all of it has gone. So i'm with £18 to last me till thursday. I feel sick to my stomach. Worst thing is they have never once told me i had gone over my overdraft, no phonecalls or letters, zilch.
THe past two months haven't been able to access my balance in the bank, online or on an atm. Its my own stomach fault. But just feel sick :(

How the hell we are going to afford to go away, i have no idea.
    Never mind live.

Try reclaiming the fees - you never know they may be prepared to waive some of them.

    You can only try it.

Kexlou, I thought if the bank didn't write to you they couldn't take the charges. Ask them...

Ivyleaf........Love your name........Im also on sea kelp , and yes they work brilliant for me too, definitely need them everyday now, hate to think what id be like without them, glad they are working for you...........

NUTTYP........Well the mattress will sort of fit, but it will over hang each side of the bed about 4 inches each side, be better if you did get a double one really.............Theres a company called "mattress man ".......

I think they are nationwide , I got a lovely mattress from them , good quality and super to sleep on , have a look on google search to see if they are near you somewhere, they also delivered mine and took the old one away, I had a new mattress 17 months ago , and its a beauty, I left the original plastic cover on it , yea it do sound a bit like a bag of crisps , but definitely keeps the mattress like new , plus no bedbugs can get in..............
Ive been on a go slow today , its just one of those days , got flu jabs early in the morning , so carer coming in at 7.30 , need to be at surgery at 9 ...............Sheila

Barclays do a very good basic account that doesn't allow an overdraught. (ask me how I know ;) ) being forced to have that account has meant that we don't pay monthly fees and don't get charged any interest or sudden charges. It works as any other bank account with visa debit but you can't have a cheque book though. It's been my saving grace in budgeting.
  • Finally home..... arrived at the hospital at 9am, should have had his transfusion started at 10, for 5 hours, finally started at 1pm, there were no disabled bays free, so had to pay for parking , total cost, £9.00 . There were then problems with the canular so only managed to get 2 lots of blood in. Oh well, hopefully it will help.
Just chopped up some of the frozen tops of leeks I have been collecting and making some leek and potato soup. Perfect for the cold wet weather we are now having.

KEZLOE: If you phone the bank and explain that you couldn't see your balance and your very sorry that you have gone overdrawn, they may let you off the charges. I used to know someone who worked at a bank and it was at her discretion whether she let them off or not. If they got angry and demanding they didn't get let off, but of they were nice and polite she was more likely to. Worth a try. Esther x
