Morning All,
Seems my regular pattern to wake early these days. Who'd have thought I would be listening to Farming Today and Today on R4:p
I've found for no particular reason to have moved into the back bedroom rather than the one Mum used. Possibly its warmer, smalller bed though. Then again its where my desktop PC and other bits and bobs are(also my kettle for making tea/coffee)
Possibly I can be a bit noisier(not that I am)because no one uses the bedroom on the other side. I've never been loud.
Quality Street creams, I haven't seen boxes of those. I like the purple ones(not a creme)
Perhaps before Christmas they will be on offer. Two of the three clubs I frequent are doing raffles/hampers and they are appealing for items to include so I give with one hand and may possibly take with the other.
One club is giving each of us £5 of tickets to sell but I don't know anyone to sell them to except my fellow members so I may have to return most of them but buy a couple for myself.
Its silly spending loads on items to put in the hamper but I'm thinking whilst they are on offer perhaps I'll buy a couple of boxes of those biscuits and give one box to each.
Nearer the time I may buy something special from a local Farmers Market(Thinking jams/chutneys/cheese)If I do that they'll have done well and I'll have done my bit. I think I will donate to a local food bank too.
More instances of the big society doing for itself.
Its that concert and talk tonight, a major street is blocked making journeys by bus longer(only because the bus goes round a housing estate, buses after 6pm run once an hour so it could mean hanging around in the dark for ages depending on when the event ends.
There isn't even a cafe that you can sit in to fill the time.
At least the weather seems quite mild so that's good."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Kez glad you are still going. I was worried you may decide to cancel and I agree that you really do need the break.
Morning toughies am very happy to say the swelling on my jaw has subsided and whilst not fully gone it is much easier to yawn now. Exhausted though ds9 been up most of night so will be awful today0 -
Glad you're feeling slightly better Kidcat, and hope DS doesn't play up too much today.
The bunnies can't all live together, they would fight. I did try to introduce another rabbit to my little two, which needed rehoming, but it was a disaster with fur flying everywhere.
What do people reckon is an appropriate amount of time to wait before enquiring about a job? DH did a psychometric test for a large company more than 2 weeks ago and hasn't heard anything.0 -
Good lord, I had forgotten what 7 am looked like....
Hubby was told yesterday that he is very anemic, blood count of 7.4. So hospital this morning for 3 bags of blood, and 3 hours of transfusion. But hopefully this will pick him up a bit.
Hugs to the toughies.
xxtoday's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

Cornish...
It helped Mum a lot but we had the situation much as yourself...you will see a difference I am sure. Thinking of both of you.
I wake/sleep when I choose or am able. Its ok once up at an early hour but I would not do so if I can help it, more likely if I know I have to go somewhere and a bus journey will take longer than by car.
Fancy some toast(again)today I'd like jam...have some fancy jars off a Farmers Market need using, no good just having them sitting there unused...now where did I put them...some fruit juice too."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. This weekend I am thinking of buying some wooden hangers for clothes(I haven't any)and the plastic ones I do are so flimsy they break. I want to hang jackets and coats...Aldi's six for £2.99. Wish I could decide whether to buy six or twelve.
I won a raffle prize at the club last night...a kind of hanging organiser that you fasten to the wardrobe railing and it has compartments to put towels or clothes, it could be useful and give extra storage."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. wondercollie and Molly I had never seen them before so I think they are a new thing this year. They also have boxes of just the toffees. I got mine in Mr T's Chr*stmas aisle so I bet they will be more widely available closer to the big day. I am happy to post them out if you can't find them. I can't let fellow fruit crime addicts suffer
I am in work this morning instead of this afternoon, so I had better get a move on. I'll be back later xxxx0 -
I keep losing cutlery:pSometimes it gets put somewhere(bet some was thrown out accidentally or put in the loft)during the clearout.
But suddenly many have turned up again:rotfl:and now put in a place where they will not be lost again. I have too many now but I won't be getting rid of, probably at least 10 of everything.
Debating whether to get myself a nice new set of crockery/ a few plates or use what I have as there is only me."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Wow so many people on here with illnesses, money probs , dentists probs etc
Im so sorry for you all with problems , we all seem to have them ........
Ive also got the " usual probs " , but I wear you all down with them.........
Ive seen :money:on"daytime" tv this morning telling people to get their energy bills fixed, As probaly most of you know SSE and British Gas have put theirs up 9% already , and like Martin say the other energy companies will follow to.........
So I phoned mine this morning dialled them at 8.10 and was on hold until 8.50  , so ive fixed mine for a year, so I will at least not get a price hike for the next year, so Id advise you all to do the same , perhaps youve already done yours................When I spoke to the them they said that for the past 2 weeks if has been so hectic with all people wanting to fix their energy, I dont think its all about changing who supplies your energy , its about getting it fixed , because when one company announces price hikes they all normally follow with a few weeks...............
Right im off to get some jobs done , got a bit of fog about here this morning , but at least its not cold.....Sheila.....0 -
My utility account with NPower is now secure until 2017. No penalty clause...saving of £100 over the year. Costs £3.50 more monthy but prices will go up annually so still ok I guess but with option to leave I can keep an eye on things.
