Cornishchick - well done, hope the blood has worked.
Possession - re the job, I would wait another week
I am running now on sheer determination, DS9 wont go to bed as OH promised he would be home tonight to tuck him in, OH wont be home, he hasnt left yet. I had to pick up DD from uni to sit with the boys so I could get DD7 to the party, then leave her again while I picked up.
He has no way of getting home from the depot and I have said I wont go out and collect him - I am not safe to drive any more, and not willing to risk my life for someone who cares so little for me.0 -
Kidcat luckily you are the most determined person I know....but you need a rest. Can you park DS in front of the TV if he won't go to bed? And shut your eyes for a few minutes on the sofa? Don't worry about DH, he can sort himself out.0

Thanks Possession - I have put him in his room with DVDs and am going to lie on sofa for a bit.
I am not going out for OH - he has to learn that he cant keep putting on me, and that there are limits to what I am able to do. Have locked door, unplugged bell and switched phones to silent0 -
Stick to your guns kid cat. We are all behind you, when he gets home, stay calm. And remind him you did it for everyone's safety.

kidcat: grit your teeth and stick to your guns. You are absolutely right to do this. We are all around you cheering you on. The situation you are in will be adding to your exhaustion and you can do without it. Get tonight out of the way and try to do whatever you can to rest.
Mar: It's no good. You are going to have to provide translations. As far as I know I have never havered in my life.

If someone had stolen £1200 off me I would be absolutely livid. Write to your MP, get a letter from your solicitor sent to her saying if she doesn't pay back the money you will take her to court (private prosecution), tell her you will be contacting papers/TV/Anne Robinson. Get her worried. I'm not entirely sure of your situation or who the 'witch' is but if she is employed to look after vulnerable people then I would tell her employer what happened.
Kezloe I agree entirely with Rosybottom on this, my ex boyf of many years ago did a similar thing, I never got the money back but I did try some tactics. It put me in an awful position of debt and I'm still suffering from it to this day, and this was over 6 years ago..
Thank goodness for these forums they have been my saving grace

Cheering for you, Kidcat.
I will have to get myself along to that Durham Christmas Festival too.
I love Durham with a passion, even more than I do my own home city of Cardiff, though "Fairwater, in Cardiff" will always be the answer to "Where are you from?".
I've lived in various bits of England and nothing beats the 'proper' North East. People are so friendly, so helpful. I don't want to live anywhere else in England. (Apart from Cornwall, but that's not England as far as I'm concerned. It's a nation within a nation. The Isle of Wight would get my vote too, if it wasn't so hilly.)
The North East accent came out tops on a list of most-liked English accents, I believe, so I wouldn't worry about it down in Devon, Fuddle. I still have the accent I left home with, it's never changed.
Funny things, accents. My oldest friend, now in Australia, is now Australian in her accent. Her husband still has a more pronounced south Welsh accent than mine and sounds as if he left the Valleys yesterday.
I'm wondering if the A!di Daily Mirror £5 voucher will be in this month, though it's not due for 2 weeks. I noticed that there will be a voucher in the Daily Mirror on Dec. 12th.
This was when I looked at the calendar on the A!di Christmas app I downloaded to my phone yesterday. The A!di Christmas Market starts Nov 14, so a while to go yet, though some of the Christmassy bits are in now.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Morning All,
mcculloch29 I hope that you get to the Durham Christmas do too. At least once we avoid the steep walk from the Framwellgate bridge using a bus to the market place, a lot of the city area is not too bad. And now(especially on a weekend like this I would give in and hail a taxi if needed.
If fit I'm at the light festival in November.
Well, when I went to the Gospel night yesterday I remembered there is a smaller Morrisons near the venue so I purchased two more boxes of biscuits whilst on offer which I will donate to two clubs I attend to go into their Christmas hampers. Works out £12's worth for £4(Selection of Cadbury's chocolate biscuits)More of a saving if you include the box I have for myself.:T
Thought the concert would be a mixture of music, it was all gospel and preaching. Some of it was ok and I could identify with what was being said but sometimes what may be genuine can come across a little over the top and as one was a trained actor, some of it came across as though you were watching a play. Perhaps that's just me.
Then again every so often things happen that make you think, "that has to be more than a coincidence" And someone helping to organise the event arranged to get me home(instead of waiting for a bus for an hour)was someone watching over me, keeping me safe? Was that more than coincidence...who knows.
I came home and had lovely corned beef salad and slept really well so had the event had calmed me? Who knows.
Well today, I'm going to make the journey to Durham again, no plans to buy anything but may if I see some jam or chutney with the intention of giving it to a charity draw as well as the biscuits or instead of. Perhaps I'll keep those for me:rotfl:
However, its all about apples in Durham today and someone is demonstrating/cooking with apples, lots of free samples and some warm apple and spice drinks on offer too. Any excuse to go. If I do I'll leave it until lunchtime and take the morning easy. I've only to get dressed and go, little else.
I hope things are a little easier for all on here...between my last posts and this one, some difficult situations have been posted and its hard to advise but I can give my support."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
