pops, could you not stretch the budget a little for a taxi back from Roker park or is it just a bit too far?
Even if you just put your spare change in a pot till then it would be something towards the taxi fare and not be too difficult to scrape together the rest.
Just thinking out loud, I often have to go out alone and always have one eye on safety.... light when I travel, a taxi home or don't go.0 -

Ah, I have one of those, a sulky DD, not that I like to boast, but my! they are expensive.0 -

Bluebag, At a push if I could get back to Durham and catch a taxi from there(the taxi might be viable)or if I connect with the last bus it would be free. Taxi from Sunderland would be approx £50. Might be cheaper to stay overnight somewhere:pOne extra bus on all routes would make a difference.
I'll get home ok just leave a bit early. I do sometimes give in and treat myself.;) Its probably not good but so far I have managed to avoid being frightened when alone on the streets at a late hour. WoW £50, well that's a bit steep, maybe the cab from Durham would offer the best solution.
Maybe an overnight stay would be nice, toasty warm hotel room, get your breakfast cooked for ya! What's not to like?0 -
floss2 could you reboil the jam adding more sugar.
I already had to reboil it to get it to setYou could make it into blackcurrant vinegar - supposed to be made from the fruit, sugar and white vinegar, but I don't see why melting the jam in cheap white vinegar would not work. Add extra sugar if necessary (it should be syrupy), strain, bottle and use as a dressing on salad, or anything where a fruity tart/sweetness is required. And it makes good pressies dolled up in a nice bottle!
This sounds a good plan - and I've seen some lovely suitable bottles0 -

Oh enjoy your drops yarn Mar! I didn't know folks sold their stashes on there! I imagine many people who have spare yarn just want to see it go to a good home.
Knitting socks - love, love, love it... Until the heel. I can at fathom that skill either!
Pooky - loose foundation chain. That will help loads, thank you.
Hmm home baking. I would love a baking session right now.
Been to sisters today as my nephew is 1. mam was there weeping and wailing about losing her grandchildren. She wants to come down at Christmas. I told her no, need to get on my feet and relax. I envisage this next month is going to throw up some nastiness. Still, all the children had fun together so that was nice.
I've a really poorly chest - kind of like the pain of indigestion but only when I breathe in. I think it's the same pain that I had when worried about going back to the nursery. I'm not ill, no other symptoms. I must be so tightly wound up right now that anxiety is showing itself physically. I feel like I need medication but every time I go for anxiety issues the doctor puts me on anti-depressants. I'm ok, honestly I am. I'm just stressed and anxious. Don't know how to help myself really.0 -
Fuddle - has your Dr not suggested CBT at all? OH found it very helpful when he was struggling with bereavement issues a few years after his mother died - I though doctors had to talk about CBT along side counselling before resorting to medication?Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

What you need sweet pea is some time out and a little peace and quiet. Run yourself a nice bubbly bath, light a candle in the bathroom, take a happy book in with you and have yourself a real relax for a while. The steam will help you to breathe more easily and the warm water and bath bubbles will help you relax physically. When you get out and are dry put your 'jamas on and keep yourself cosy with a dressing gown and then go and make a cuppa!!! Biscuits are allowed too. Then go downstairs and have half an hour cuddling the family on the sofa and just loving them, you'll feel so much better, Love and Hugs Lyn xxx.0
