Fuddle - ditto what Mrs LW recommends ^^^^

Also - hot chocolate with a bit of brandy and cinnamon stirred in. And if you can't face running a bath, you can still get the therapeutic effect with a hot shower - put some drops of essential oil in the shower tray/bottom of bath before switching on, then get in and inhale the gorgeousness.
You have a lot on your plate at the moment with the move to Dorset, and I am sure some family members will be letting the guilt beasts out of the closet, but try and let it all go over your head - you, your OH and your kids are what come first. Once you look after yourself and them, you will then be in a better position to help other people - if you should choose.

  • Evening everyone.

Been a quietday here so far today. OH seems to have caught a cold / bug that’s going aroundhe’s really quite rough so I’ve had to choice but to put the oil filled rad onfor a few hours as its bitter here but happily I was able to put OH’s work wearon there too so it’s served its purpose.

I also made achicken stew in the SC and homemade dumplings. However, I never estimated justhow much I’ve made and think we’ve got around 8-10 portions

But alongwith everything else that’s been frozen in the freezer, I don’t have anywhereto sort it. So it looking like my mum will be getting a lot of stew!!

I suppose it’sthe downside of renting privately for us as our LL wouldn’t be happy with asecond freezer stored somewhere in the house. They are really funny about usmaking / adjusting the property lay out. So sooner we become DF, sooner we canhave a second freezer!! Lol.

Pops, The photosare amazing. It’s lovely being able to see something different.

Gailey, YouWILL get there. Trust us all. We’ve all been / are in the same situation andyour hard work will pay off.

    Be happy & healthy

Gailey you have achieved so much this week. And its starting to get there for you I feel, well done. Not long now until half term and you can have a break from the race of getting kids up and ready for school.
As for your OH smoking that would really annoy me but maybe you can agree a cut down for a few weeks while he settles into the new job and then in November look at quitting again. I know there is lots of support here for quitting which you can maybe look into in preparation.

    OOOH That sounds like heaven!!!
I used to like black coffee with apricot brandy, think it was called cafe Borgia but I stopped drinking coffee cos' it made me so poorly. Hadn't occurred to me to lace chocolate with spirits ;)
Might have to try that tomorrow!

  • Lovely photos Pops. A friend and I stayed in Durham for two nights to celebrate her birthday in May and we passed that sculpture a few times. I've admired the one on Holy Island as well.

Yesterday was not a good day for me - anniversary of DH's death. My oldest DS and lovely DIL called in to bring me some food as they knew I would not bother. It was lovely of them to visit and really perked me up. :) Did not enjoy the lecture from DS but he is concerned I'm not looking after myself and I am thankful they care enough to worry about me.

Weather is horrible, cold, grey and windy so am glad not to have to go out at all after church this morning.

(((HUGS))) to all who need them - and there seems to be a lot of you in need right now. Hope things go better for you soon.

Fuddle, wishing you well on so many levels but...if you still feel no better after a fair amount of time after moving, your new Dr may offer a different solution to what you've been offered here...

Princessx87 and AOT Glad you like the odd photos that I posted...since getting out a little more and having a camera with me, I have become more observant of what is around me and even more so picking up on little bits of conversations when travelling on the bus etc...

Hope the information helped about ordering food via the internet.

Lets hope though its this time of year we get better weather soon and I hope you feel better AOT I do think many of us react that way when anniversaries come around.

Better be away for my little look out for the Bingo.

    Gailey,

The panic thing is probably because you are tired and stressed, but it might be good to see your GP and mention it.

    Good news about the jsa.
Don't worry too much about the smoking, it's difficult to give up at the best of times and with all the stress you are both having it's pretty understandable, see if maybe he could roll his own of cut down a bit.

Try and get a wee nap in the afternoon or after tea to help you keep up with some sleep.

Keep your chin up. one day you will look back and smile at it all.

Thank you everyone. I did have a bath and trying to calm myself. I'm sat with a cuppa watching country file foraging.

Fuddle - has your Dr not suggested CBT at all? OH found it very helpful when he was struggling with bereavement issues a few years after his mother died - I though doctors had to talk about CBT along side counselling before resorting to medication?

Twice I've been to the doc's and both times was medication first. I was offered counselling but chickened out both times. I am really interested in CBT though. I learned a lot about the process while studying those OU psychology units. I wonder if the CBT would be included in the counselling?

Oh thank you. I really appreciate that. I will look tomorrow when little ones are at school. I would like to relearn my behaviour without going into personal issues with a stranger. If I can try myself I'd be very happy.

Fuddle - DH was offered CBT as part of his "accident" issues. He's been seeing a lady up at Maudsly hospital in London when he goes to see his consultant at Kings college hospital. She's one of the top CBT bods and has been fantastic at helping him work through the issues he's had with coming to terms with the loss of his beloved career and his mobility. I'd recommend CBT to anyone, I was very sceptical at first but seeing how it's helped has just affirmed to me that we as humans are very closed off to "new" things but if you can just go with it and let it help then it will.

My sewing machine died earlier, I fixed it......then the PC died. DH assured me it's the graphics board.......then went on to say, no, it's the mother board but when I suggested he try unplugging and relugging in the monitor (no, it's more serious than that, says he). It worked!

    ;)

I totally agree Pooky - it is too easy to be sceptical about things we find a bit outside our comfort zones - too hippy-dippy or cringe inducing.

I found relaxation audios very helpful when I was having trouble sleeping, but the voice-over and general tone was very cringy! I had to put my preconceptions aside and just go with it, and it worked. The CBT programmes can be the same, seeming a bit trite and obvious, but stick with it and things become much clearer.
