Kidcat: I have absolutely no idea. What is mine craft, please?
x
Its a computer game - its a world where the kids build an entire world how they would they it, alot of kids play it - but auties absolutely love it, there are servers where the kids can all play together in one world, which helps teach them social skills. My two boys have learnt alot from playing, my eldest is now an admin on an auty server and helps teach the others to work together.
They build intricate things from blocks - DS15 built an aircraft carrier on one of his worlds, and one of our group kids built an amazing rainbow.

Many thanks Kidcat. I'll investigate this. Anything to get him involved and moving on. Unfortunately my DS and DIL only get him odd weekends and school holidays when he comes on in leaps and bounds. They would love to have him over here permanently but delicate probings in that direction have borne no fruit so far. We are pretty sure that he watches a lot of TV when not here. this was always the way. Never mind, we do what we can.
Many thanks.

Another question. Does anyone know if there is such a company (Ideally butcher style) that delivers meat? OH just asked me as we're spending a fortune in supermarkets but walk away with no decent meat what so ever. Doesn't help we don't drive and most meat markets are on a sunday when buses are on a go slow? Long shot maybe? x
I can heartily recommend my neighbours in the market here in Wales, they deliver all over the country, I've not idea if they have min. delivery, or what the delivery charge is, but the beef is the most delicious I've ever tasted. They have long horn cattle. They are Carn Edward http://www.longhorn-beef.co.uk/ We had a £12 joint off them a few weeks back, but we got two meals for the three of us out of it, and the boys had generous portions, and we also ad two slices left over which I had for lunchWe thought that was actually quite good value, as joint from Mt T for £12 would have shrunk to nothing when you cooked it!

Put meat deliveries UK into your search engine, there are loads but I can't say how good they are...
Many have outlets where people can collect/shop so I guess they are ok but you have add the extra cost of P&P if the order is under a certain amount. Also as some are high quality, so are the prices."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Thought you may like to see the following of a sculpture in Durham City near the theatre and main library that I visit. It is of the Monks carrying the body of St. Cuthbert. I believe its carved of wood. It is Sunday after all.
Yes I'm up but have slept well and had something to eat. Its not terrifically cold indoors but not bad and I wore a woolly hat and socks which made a difference. Sneaked the heating on for approx an hour overnight too. Going to have a coffee and lie down. The repair to my ceiling has worked...now we'll see how long it takes to come back.

Pooky have you finished your crochet ripple blanket? You like ?
It's still going....it's just over 3ft long! I've used just under a ball of each of 5 colour so far, I brought 2 of each so it going to get a lot bigger yet!
Loving how easy it is (after that pigging foundation chain) and its so neat and pretty.
When I turfed all my craft stuff out the other day I found a load of wool I'd forgotten about and that's earmarked for the next ripple
Did you make your snood?"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I really must give it ago again Pooky. I just know once I get past the first stage I'll enjoy it. I think I should do it when I move out if here and living with MiL/sleeping in caravan.
Well then, that's a new job for today - colour plan for the wool. 5 colours enough Pooky would you say? Think it'll be a stylecraft job, although I think RICO cotton would be so soft but quite heavy?
I did make my snood but being in circular needles and making it up as I go along, I didn't gauge correctly how many stiches so was too small. It rebelled now waiting for another flash of inspiration.0 -
The 5 colours make a decent pattern repeat, I've only used cheapo wllko wool and that's heavy enough when it gets to a decent length. I'd love to Use more expensive yarns but I just can't justify it, it's more the making than the finished article for me, I can't sit down and do nothing so have to have something crafty on the go at all times.
You should have another go, just make sure your foundation chain is really loose, it's got a lot of shape to adjust to."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
