Happy belated birthday Princess - I know it's not the best time for you and OH just now but sending you many happy returns anyway and a big (belated) birthday hug!

    Hugs to Cornish chick too.

Nutty - hope you are ok and get checked out soon.

Kidcat- empathies with the messy household - ditto here. Hope all your coughs and colds improve soon.

Monnagran - make sure you make time to breathe! Seriously pace yourself, please!

Hugs to anyone else in need, sorry that's all I can remember so far.

DH has taken boys to cheapy cinema this morning. Had a ticket for me but I felt too rotten to go so they have happily gone without me. Boys haven't done anything fun for ages, haven't been able to take them to swimming classes and had to cancel their friends coming over so wanted them to go out today. I have also found a free firework display along a seafront we can drive to so hoping we can do that next week, will just cost us some petrol and probably parking costs.

My friends have been great this week, one insisted on taking me out for a coffee and we got a little shopping in (supermarket caf!). She is the brilliant friend who took the kids to school the other week for me and came to my scan. I was able to persuade her to let me buy her breakfast and coffee as she hadn't eaten and had a busy day ahead.

Then yesterday another friend picked me up to go to a local school's open morning. It is the only localish school I am considering for DS9 but is oversubscribed. As we are staying put in this house, I wanted to see what our options are. Have to say pleasantly surprised by the school, better than I thought, friendly, helpful and well behaved pupils. They are rebuilding the entire school and then knocking down the current one for extra playing field, car parking etc and getting a new head so will have to weigh all that up.

Feeling much more positive about staying here. Missed most of the other school open days now but booked into another next week with the same friend. I thought when I am feeling better, I could ask the other schools if I could pop in for a tour - they should allow that shouldn't they?

I remember chilly childhoods too. No central heating, in fact no heating upstairs at all and an outside loo covered with a homebuilt leanto - I can remember sitting on a loo seat that felt like it was made of ice! We did have plenty of warm clothes and bedding though so I am very grateful for that. Happy days!:rotfl:

washing finished so will hang it out in batches

Hi everyone, had an odd day today , dh went will ds to his football match , so I could stay warm, he has just started playing and although they lost , they are improving and he still had a great time , they would put the so call professional footballers to shame , cause they all had fun .
I sorted 90% of my clothes out , so if anything happens at least there is less to sort out , needed sorted anyway .
it was a distraction from the conversation I have just had with my mum, horrid, how the heck do you have that kind of talk, lifes a cow at times , imagine coming back from holiday to this !!!! Big kids taken little kids to the pictures, so impressed with all my babies at the minute, so hubbie gone to buy chip butties, live the high life ....xx

Burtha, I can't imagine how you break that sort of news to your parents, I'm in complete awe that you've managed to keep it together. All your babies being so courageous just goes to show how well you've brought them up. Be proud :)

I've had a really productive day, all my thermal curtain linings are in, winter curtains are up in all rooms that need them and I've put curtain poles up across 2 door ways (just need to make the curtains now). I've got all the rugs out of the loft, give them a thorough Hoover and put them where required. Pulled the calor gas heater to the front of the garage ready to clean up and bring in (incase of power cuts), put the camping stove and spare gas bottles/camping kettle in the cupboard under the stairs so it's handy and moved the snow shovel etc to the front of the garage. I'm ready now...bring it on. :)

DH fell asleep on the sofa mid lunch, very unlike him, he may be coming down with something. So he had his afternoon nap there and I sat on the bed, snuggled in a crochet blanket, crocheting a new one whilst watching the tv and eating a box of Christmas chocs ;) how decadent! Back to reality now as DDs are on their way back from a Uni visit in London, so 2 cold girlies expected any moment. Jimjams are wrapped around a hot water bottle and dinner is ready when they are.

Pooky you are so organised! I feel a bit unprepared for winter though I have been slowly doing things so will get there, trying not to panic. Also lovely to hear of your warm welcome home to your girls.

Burtha, your children sound lovely, hope they had fun at the cinema. You are made of strong stuff, just get through one day at a time. We are all right beside you love. Make sure you plan some little treats for yourself, you deserve it.

gotta get DS6 to bed and DS9 shortly after. pair of darling awake at 5am this morning with all the upstairs lights in reading in bed, only discovered them as I needed a trip to the loo. DH is having a soak in the bath - he spends far longer than me soaking in the bubbles!

  • Evening everyone.

Been rushing around like a mad women all day today with OH. Finally managed to speak to the bank in regards to a very sneaky company who has been taking money from our account over the past few months even though both the company & bank was notified not to!! So looking forward to having an extra few pennies to chuck towards the debts this coming week.

I have been into the town centre getting some supplies for the winter months. Mainly medications for colds and flu’s.

Got a new pair of PJS. Well trousers at least. Could always nick one of OH’s t-shirts. I’m not one of these girls that really care’s what I look like, especially during the winter months. I take the attitude, If “I” like it “I” wear it.

Finally got home this evening after nipping to the supermarket to get stew stuff in. Then it’s a quick dash to my mums to just check in on her. OH’S family arrived safely in Cornwall for their weeks holiday. We’re hoping that they come back re-fresh and ready for the difficult months ahead with OH’s brothers court case.

Still trying to find something that gets a hot chocolate stain out of white jeans. I’m not prepared to give up because their only a few weeks old and has loads of use left yet.

Anyways hugs to all that need them x
