Oh Nutty, I'm so glad things went mostly ok. I'm really pleased to hear that someone is going to address the wider issues. As for appealing, you know best--there are some battles not worth fighting and this sounds like it might be one of them. No wonder you're exhausted, take it easy!
Burtha, big hugs. Draw your friends and family in close. I'll be thinking of you!
What a lovely link SDG! Big hugs, and hang in there.0 -
nutty - I fully understand, sometimes its better for you just to let it go.0

I'm a recent lurker of this thread and sorry you have had some trouble at work, though not aware why, have read your posts about the colleague drinking though. I sincerely hope you can put this behind you now and move on, your boss sounds decent.Carolbee0

Hello CAROLBEE welcome to the thread, it's so nice when new friends join us, we're all slightly barmy but harmless, nice to have you with us.
NUTTY think you are right, draw the line under the whole thing and start tomorrow with a clean sheet. I'm so proud of you for speaking out about the problems your colleague is causing, hopefully this will now be sorted out and life will be much more pleasant for all of the rest of you, Good on you girl!!!
Hugs to everyone, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Well done Nutty, glad it's over and you can move on.0

Nutty, so why can't the same person put on file all the positive things about your work record and all you've had to put up with to cancel out the bad so as to speak. Bit of a cop out.
Also I get the impression that others should be in for a rocket if they can treat you as they have. That their incompatence or hiding of situation regarding the work colleague are worse.
And they should be called in and given warnings possibly more so than yourself. You did the company a favour.
I think he could also add on your file the warning is there because of the procedure that has to be followed. I think their procedure could do with a rewrite.
Oh well, if you feel that you can work with the conclusion and it truely will be wiped out after a year, that's great. I think you should be entitled to some kind of copy of what happened and what was discussed. Its the least they can do...you should also be informed that it has been removed when the anniversary comes around.

Nuttyp, So glad its done with but the main thing is you have got someone to listen about your boozy assistant. Life is hard enough with out the uneccessary stress of worrying how they will behave.
There is no scale to problems, anything that causes any of us stress or upset can be shared and hopefully the support we all give will help.Clearing the junk to travel light

If anyone is starting to buy in Christmas goodies Mr.T had a big box of Thorntons Classic/Original Chocolates at £3.50p. Quite a big box and seemed like good value as Thorntons are nice, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Sounds like you got the best outcome you could Nutty, and now it is all done, you can stop worrying, which is the best thing!
It does sound like someone has not been doing their job re the other individual, which is foolish as she is a danger to herself and others. Should anything happen the company would be culpable. Perhaps some good will come out of this horrible situation after all!
Grey and chilly down here in sunny Cornwall today, and I am itching to get home - how sad is that???
I have decided I want to train in silver working, something I wanted to do when I left school but which got stymied by poor advice from the careers service. So 39 years on I can do what I have always wanted. I have found a couple of courses relatively local to home, and am champing at the bit to get going.
Have a good evening everyone!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
