    Oh Burtha,
What can I say. No wonder you are in shock. Thinking of you and your family and hoping for good news now having received the bad. Lets hope the accident and the scan means they are on top of something that might've been missed and that its benign and/or if the worst case scenario its been caught in time.

Been through horrible news like that with both my parents and a scare with my own health so can understand how you are feeling.

    Real life:mad: Hugs to you.

Don't apologise for crying burtha . It is safety valve and is good. A natural
response. Easy to say but lets stay positive, they are really clever these days and its good that they have offered chemo. Naturally, you will be unable to think of anything else for now.

I can advise of a wonderful site if you want to share your fears, have support and ask questions. Others going through similar situations as carers and having cancer themselves, they also have nurses/advisers that will talk to you on the phone and also offer free factsheets. If you decide you'd like it please ask. Its not Macmillan Nurses but they too offer a phone service and often have a drop in centre you can call into.

And having just seen Ginny's post I echo everything she says and I know come morning everyone on here will be sending their support and good wishes your way.

    Morning All,
How easy was that? I had some soup mix I purchased at Mr T's...They say enough for 4 people, I split it in two. To be fair it probably does feed 4 people but I ate half the packet, I added a ham stock cube(a little sliced meat)and after perhaps 10-15 minutes on the hob)guess a slow cooker would work. I had a lovely bowl of soup...well perhaps using so much veg it was more like a mini stew/casserole.

I'll do that again. I had it when I came in from the concert.

Later I made myself some sliced beef and tomato sandwiches...again so simple/easy.

Even later as I have been putting files on the PC had a coffee and some of my chocolate, potato and orange cake from the festival I was at last week...Lovely!:)

I have some cooking bacon which I tried the other night with some eggs and it was really cheap but tasted fine so may use that today in some rolls or with something else in a meal.

Molly - you are a hero, I could never have managed 31 needles, for any reason, heck when DS15 had his lumbar puncture at 18months I collapsed and only just stayed standing when DD7 had her bloods done two years ago. I pass out when I have my own needles and have been known to throw up over the nurses.

I have to work really hard as many of my treatments involve needles in one form or another and I have the potential to become very needle phobic. When I was a practising midwife I hated taking blood from women for that very reason and was very aware that very many people find it difficult. I used to used hypnosis with some very phobic women and it had good results so might be worth a try if you have to have injections or blood taken on a regular basis?

Miss Molly is doing ok but posted that she was now tired of being an adult and could she become a child again? She had just missed her online shop being delivered due to her vacuuming so was very upset but the shop were very kind and are re-delivering it today. She has buddied up with a very nice girl though and they go to St Johns ambulance together so she is ok. I spent the whole of monday furious with her though as we were sorting out her pig stye of a bedroom which she was supposed to have cleaned before she went. Anyway it is pristine now and had better stay that way - just wish the rest of the house was the same:o

Good wishes for the day and hope that Nutty is doing ok x

  • Oh Burtha, big, big hugs! What a frightening situation. I know it will be very hard to wait for your meeting with the brain doctor. A friend of mine from years ago has a brain tumor--it has been really rough on her for awhile, but she has come through a number of treatments and as of now they predict her being around for years to come. They won't all be easy years, but we still have her. I hope your situation is similar.

Nutty, any news? I do hope it all went well!

I'm rubbish with needles, often faint just thinking too hard about them, so will leave that topic there!

Molly, I'm so glad to hear that Miss Molly is doing well, despite the bumps and wobbles!

Today is another work from home day for me today. I got loads done yesterday so hoping for the same sort of day today. There have been various trials and problems with work, but I must say it is easier not to get wound up when I'm dealing with them via e-mail.

I'm still not ill, so all of the handwashing, disinfectant wipes (don't normally use them but bought a pack when there were vouchers for Ald!) and keeping our distance must be working.

Tonight's tea is a leek crumble--I've never made it before but I'm hoping that it is nice. We're still sticking to only eating meat from the butchers, which means once a week or less on most weeks, so I'm happy to keep adding veggie meals to the rotation. I'm hoping to try Kez's veggie stew very soon. I've been waiting so long for leeks to make it.

Hugs to any and all who need them, its so nice to be able to pop in when can. I was feeling a bit low this morning and feel much better now just for knowing you're all here.

Burtha think positively pet, think how many people are ok after the most awful things happen to them. It's just the shock of finding out and you'll be ok once you have time to to sort it out in your own way. Sending love & light to you pet xxx.
