According to Radio 5 last night Tesco's have dropped quite a lot of their finest range and have introduced some really fancy items(I assume prices are quite high still)its suggested they are going for Waitrose customers..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Been up and moving around since 5am this morning.
We’re expecting cold weather coming in over the next few days.
For those who makes breads, Has anyone tried their SC at all? I have been reading up on it and it seems to be easier for us then buying a BM?solution and it seems the trusty slow cooker is just that..
Today’s plan is to whiz around and just put lots of bits & bobs away
Shortened your post but what I have left there sounds like me...I've been tidying up from that early hour...also had to wait for the gas/electric meters to be read.
I'm reappraising my plans for the colder weather(bit more positive this year)
I've heard that bread can be made in the slow cooker too. I understand it can made in a microwave, halogen oven, slow cooker, ordinary oven, bread machine so lots of ways to do it. many videos on You Tube. Its really easy.:)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

They can 'go for' Waitrose customers as much as they want but they'll NEVER BE Waitrose, they'll always be Mr.Ts.0

Got a mention on the radio today(using my other internet name)BBC Radio York and it was due to a favourite broadcaster/poet being interviewed on radio about a humerous book he's written. The DJ is following me now but he's in for a shock as I use Twitter for my political rants:rotfl:
But I now sometimes speak to the poet(Ian McMillan)via Twitter. He's to appear reasonably locally in October. I can get there ok but the buses finish too early in the evening to see the whole show and get home without a taxi:mad:the last time I used one from there some years back it cost me approx £25(that was not because I was at a show either)
I hope he comes nearer to me sometime soon...at a push my Uncle lives in the town he's appearing, I am wondering if should ask if I could stay overnight.
Wonder if I've missed him many times over previous years."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Good morning. Lovely day here so far, sunny and warm. Have been for weekly counselling session this morning. Hope we reach the point where I don't cry every week soon. It's not a good week for me to start with as is DH's anniversary on Saturday.:(:(:(
No time to sit and mope though as is my volunteer role at the cathedral this afternoon. Quick lunch of HM leek and potato soup with HM bread. Rice pudding in slow cooker for supper. Can't believe how organised I am today - it won't last.:rotfl:
Praying for you nutty.
Ooooh monnagran, I have serious sewing machine envy.
MrsLW, is there any custard left for me? I'm a custard addict.
Pops, glad your bread is a success. I use a Breadmaker but am interested in how to make it in the SC. Will have to investigate.
Hope the day goes well for everyone.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -

Nearest Waitrose to me is 32 miles away:eek:"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

AOT, If you ever say where you volunteer(you not wish to)if I'm passing I'll say hello:)
I keep promising I'll look around Durham Cathedral again...I haven't been there for over 40 years.
Take care...thinking of you and this weekend, I sympathise with you.
Off to see The Hollies tonight and I suspect unlike The Osmonds concert I will see it ok..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Plenty of custard and crumble to go round, or just custard if that's your choice, come on over AOT, join the party, Lyn xxx.0

Nutty…I also wanted to leave a message. I hope this ends everything today and you can get back into some sort of normality. There is nothing worse than having a dark cloud hanging over you in anything in life! We’re all here rooting for you nutty x
I worked for a MR T’S about a year ago. The amount of complaint they received about their so called finest range was shocking. Especially because of the price they charge for more “luxury” items. A lot of returns was made.
I was in the store I worked at the other day and there was a poster stating “ we’ve listened & are proud to be introducing new products” When having a look at these new items many of them are the same just re-packaged.
I try my hardest not to shop in Tesco if I can help it. I think when you work somewhere and see the horrors behind closed doors it tend to be an eye opener! Like their “fresh” bakery items….Yeah right!
Pops, Will be having a sneaky peek In a little. Thanks for the heads upFuture goals:
