My kids couldn't have everything thier peers had but it certainly hasn't disadvantaged them and they both have university degrees and professional careers, maybe I'm being a bit unkind but it's hard for me to see that his need government subsidy in the first place?

Mine are the same Lyn. Plenty I thought they went without, but they tell me they never really noticed :D It's given them a reasonable view of the world, and they certainly know spoiled when they see it.

I've just been reading that horrendous news story of that sick sick woman, who's kid died of starvation and she didn't even report it. I'm sure you've all seen it. What has become of this country, that all the authorities could just let that kind of lifestyle, and her in charge of 8 kids, slip under the radar? So sad :(

I'm sitting in bed :P waiting for OH to leave the house, so I can get in the kitchen and start my cakies. Doglet to the vetty person at 2.30 and we have thick thick fog.

    Morning All,
Not much planned...its a wet day again outside, it can stay there. Will sleep a little, quick tidy round later and then I have the urge to give the making of shortbread a try...but will I actually go through with it?

I could get the processor out for the first time but will either mix by hand or the hand mixer that I have...

I hope Friday is good to everyone...

Morning all its gray and rainy hear also :(

I can relate to kidkat so much my morning is so timed the same with no minutes to spare. And now I have even longer to walk as dh tells me I am not allowed to take the short cut through the park as it's too dangerous (its dark in there and no one is about ) .It adds 1 hour to my walking time. :( .

Next door have got the farm back up and running and it's driving me mad
Chickens and bloody cocks crowing and cockadoaldooing at all hours 2 bloody horses in the garden not to mention the 2 lots of puppies under the stairs that cry and bloody wimper at all hours. And 6 bloody dogs barking like mad and he's just informed me he's got 2 more lots of pups due next week arhhhhh.
All this in his 2 bedroom terraced council house. How can I sell my house when it smells like a farm outside and in if I open the windows.

On another note its my ds9 hearing test today for his statement and he's got a appointment on Monday to see the community gp what ever that is all to do with his statement. Hopefully it will all be sorted soon as iv got 4 meetings next week and 3 the week after all to do with his statement.

And I still haven't heard from dla yet I wish I'd never bothered with it but could do with the money to help with transport costs its £5.80 in a taxi to do the school run wich would help loads.

Hope you have a good day

I forget my boys start gymnastics tomorrow yay x

It's set to American English. You just need to find the keyboard settings and change it. Should be in Control panel, then "clock country and region" or similar....

Thankyou, you were right and you're a lifesaver! (I might well have killed the laptop.)

Grey morning here - maybe it will brighten up later - fingers crossed.
I'm on a mission today. First stop local market for the cosmetic guy for some cheap Halloween makeup - then off to Mrs L's farm butchers to see what they've got that takes my fancy & then home for a batch cooking session. Cue smiling DH!!!

Love n Hugs to all whether you need them or not

    Good morning toughies,

Oh Shegar, you are in a pickle you poor love. I hope that you can get sorted out soon, top, bottom and anywhere in between. You sometimes have to be a nuisance to get treatments etc, so keep up the pressure and don't be fobbed off. You have such a lot on your plate and you cope against all the odds somehow AND keep us all entertained with your funny posts. I take my hat off to you. Keep on getting it off your chest... that's what we're all here for and will tell you off if you don't! Hugs to you.

Kidcat and jem - I wish I could send a magic carpet to your doors every morning and whisk you and the kids to your different destinations in a matter of seconds. I don't know how you do it but you do and you are brilliant. Hugs coming your way too.

Pops - go on, have a bash at making shortbread and then you can sit down with a nice cuppa and watch the rain nice and cosy indoors. :)

I am sitting here yawning my head off, not a great night with my back. Took 2 of DH's strong prescription painkillers (ssshhh!) last night otherwise wouldn't have got any sleep at all. My brilliant friend has collected my two and taken to school with hers meaning she had an earlier start. I don't know what I will do for backup when she finds a paid job.

DH is nagging me to give up the gym, blaming my back on that but I have been very careful and on a gentle programme. I think being stressed this week caused me to tense up. I will see how I go when it gets better. Hopefully improve by Monday so I can drive again.

DH is really struggling with his last year at college and all the homework. One of the tutors is a real c*w and more or less threw his homework back at him last night saying it was rubbish. I am appalled, he is trying so hard and to be humiliated like that in front of the class. He needs encouragement going back to study in his mid 40s (has virtually no qualifications) whilst juggling a demanding job, a long commute and family life with 2 young children. He is saying he is going to jack the course in. I said he should give himself a few days at least to mull it over and talk it through with me. I know he thinks I am struggling at the moment and he will be busy studying every weekend til the summer so won't be able to help me much. I don't want him packing it in for me, I will manage somehow.

DS6 is back with the learning mentor which is good in the sense he is getting support but obviously rather he didn't need it.
What a blooming week we are having. I am going to get out my new notebook and make some plans, always good to have things lined up. Off to have a cuppa, first of the day and some of those nice biscuits to cheer me up (sorry AOT!)

    take care you wonderful people

Jem - Is there enough room for all the animals, the horses in particular and are they being cared for properly in a small house/garden? If not, report them to the council or RSPCA.

Good luck with all the appointments and meetings and great about gymnastics

Seconded. Two horses? In a terraced house? Please tell me they are not breeding puppies for cash.
