Thanks everyone. I'm not expecting it to be all roses when we move. Life is life wherever you are isn't it? I'm just relieved to be away from all the baggage that effects me away from my own little family life. That in itself will be respite.

Life will consist of all the things we do here (I would like work too) but weekend times and family times is what we're looking forward to. Being in an environment that holds all the things we like to do in the great outdoors and more to experience and learn, is very exciting to us and it's those times we are moving for really. Financially it will be a little difficult I expect (north/south food prices?) not having MIL there as back up childcare, the effect of salt on my aging car chassis (see I fret over the tiniest detail too ;) ) and that housing is so much more expensive and we have to really lower our expectations.

We're sacrificing alot for this move and more than I care to go into detail here but it's a move that will bring free, enjoyable family time and that is what the crux of life is about for us and stems back to what I was saying about Jonses' keeping upping this morning.

I remember the first days we were unpacked in this house. It was just after christmas and all the stress had eased and the joblist was no more. I was lost, a horrible empty feeling. I'm expecting it again and then some. I have been forewarned that it's inevitable, just last night and now you all today. Uh oh.
  • SQ: Remember, Much that’s on the net is already worse case scenario therefore, we do as humans tend to scare ourselves witless. I totally agree with Lyn as she’s hit the nail on the head. Just think positive! You’ve already made the huge step of booking the scan. No matter what the outcome is we’re all here. One think I would suggest. Take something with you to take your mind off the full bladder.

When I had a scan done a few years ago, I was at bursting point. Didn’t help they was running slightly behind, But its amazing how suddenly a awful lot of thinks remind you that duty is calling!

Going back to the net thing, A friend of mine as a lump appear under the skin on her right boob, She stupidly googled “lump “on” breast” the results page listed pages & pages stating it was one of the most common cancer symptoms! Turn out to a boil !:rotfl:

You know in your heart your not alone at all. We’ll all wait your reply this evening sweet x

SQ hope all goes well later for you, sending hugs.

My precious sewing machine gave up the ghost last night, I was devastated. It cost me £10 and a knitted victorian doll about 20 years ago and has done many thousands of stitches so I can't complain really. Time to dig out the old Singer, ex treadle machine and find where I put the flipping new belt...wanders off muttering.....

    Morning All,
I was shopping in Tesco's at Midnight:eek:and walked home...well stumbled my way home(good job its near to home)and I was already out having been at the club.

Had a little accident in store, I unbalanced myself and ended up on my back(top heavy)with my rucksack in the aisle, legs weren't strong enough when getting something off the lower shelf and trying to straighten up and I would have pulled the trolley over...eventually I had to use the shelves as leverage...

I have some lovely meals lined up, lots of fresh items but think I'll cheat when I have a "Meat" pie...said SM has some decent new products on sale. At good prices...

Don't mind if I put a little weight on for Winter, time for some comfort eating:pHad some shortbread made by my friend. Good job I only have a small amount...its divine. If I ever get around to making any myself and its similar I'm in trouble:rotfl:

Pops, hope you are OK after your over balancing act!

So, I was supposed to be having a quietish day today after overdoing it yesterday and getting very wound up and tired. I reckoned without the animal antics...

Cat number one, age 13, has suspected thyroid problem, awaiting blood test tomorrow. He is always hungry these days because of his raised metabolism and has spent the day howling, winding round my feet, generally driving me to distraction. I try to be patient as I know it's his condition and hopefully we will get him sorted, but he has been over the top today. Cat two has been in and out like a yo yo, begging to go out/come in. I let our last chicken out for a potter round the grade, turned my back for a second to find the chicken in the conservatory and the black Labrador in the chicken house guzzling chicken food as fast as she could. Then choccy lab made off with the half eaten LARGE sausage roll which DD16 had put down on the sofa (!) while she did something else. That sausage roll was going to be cut into chunks for several lunch boxes....aaargh! Black lab is now pacing up and down pestering for her tea - maybe it's the weather as it feels like a mad house. Very warm and claggy today, everyone seems on edge.

SQ - the scan is just the same as a pregnancy scan, same gel on the belly, same prodding around trying to get the right angle. They showed me my cysts on the screen, measured them and reassured me they'd seen a lot worse. They did ask if they could do an internal scan too as I've got a tilted uterus and they just wanted to double check everything was ok, I explained it was my TOTM but they said they could still do it but only if I was comfortable with it. I thought "what the hell" I'm not coming back so get it over and done with. I was in and out in under 10 mins and knew there and then about my cysts. You will be fine. I promise.

Remember me saying we'd had a underpaid tax demand? We spoke to them and then backed it up in writing and we got a rebate cheque today! From apparently owing them £700 they suddenly realised they owed us £400! Happy days!

Such a lot going on for members on the thread, and most of it hard, sad, or just plain infuriating. Not had time to read all posts up to date but my heart goes out to those of you sufferring for whatever reason.

Haven't had time to read as have been writing instead - furious emails to our County Council. Some idiot has taken it into his head that we adults of the town have a death wish or are just plain crazy or half witted. We have a recycling depot 2 minutes walk from the edge of our small town and the PTB have decided that the good townsfolk will no longer be allowed to carry their rubbish there on foot. Nor will we be able to have a mooch round the recycling shop on site unless we arrive by car.

The fact that not everyone has a car apparantly does not matter. The PTB say it is for our own good, if people are allowed to walk around on their own we might get hurt. And what's more anyone that gets hurt might sue the council. I have asked what steps they have put in place to protect the car drivers that are silly enough to leave their vehicle to deposit their ruubish in the various skips, recycling shop etc. but am still awaiting a reply..... Maybe they're protected by the recycling depot fairy in a way that someone who walks in off the street to deposit their unwanted items is not.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes, I am a little overwhelmed with your support. Thanks so much, you really are the best of folk and I am so lucky to have this forum.

Pooky - I have a tilted uterus too and had some pelvic surgery involving some internal support, like a hammock (spare you all the details but some of you may know what I mean) so I am a little worried I might be an awkward case and the last appointment near closing time so hope it will be ok.

Re: breast scans - I have had one of those too and a biopsy and got the all clear. That time I didn't google and didn't worry as much. Whoever said the net comes up with worst case scenarios is so right - most things come to nothing and others are often treatable if found early.

I am much calmer now having been on here and also had a little blub at my friends and another friend has offered to drive me there tonight and wait. I am worried about finding a new place and parking etc with a full bladder. As I am the last appointment I won't have time to drink more and don't want to go back on the waiting list so I am going to drink for England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales!! My friend will be banned from making me laugh until AFTER the scan :rotfl:

Pops - too true about men and health checks etc. There is a real issue there with men being particularly reluctant to get things checked out. If there is anyone male or female reading with something medical needing checking out, GO TO THE DOCS! PLEASE!

Often us fellas need a good woman to take us in hand. So when we are on our own like myself we are a risk to ourselves. Even I have been kind adopted by all of you. And am being watched over.
