katieowl so many awful things happening to people re work etc. There is a real fear out there and it is awful to see. I really feel for that poor lady. Not one bit fair....Do a little kindness every day.;)0

Thank Cornish chick. The clinic just phoned actually, woman said she can't see why her colleague phoned me and appointment is on system so just turn up and they will phone again if they see any reason to. She was surprised I got the appointment so quickly - a cancellation - sounds like you usually wait much longer. I just want to get it out of the way rather than waiting weeks, especially since I googled stuff.
Off to a new friend's house for lunch, need to find another new address which is bad enough but a distraction til the school run at least.
thanks again cc, I am calming down now
edit: Thanks MrsLW, you are so lovely as ever and I am in tears with gratitude. Yes I do need a full bladder (not my strongest body part even after two surgeries for related problems!!) so that will be a distraction in itself. Might even pack a spare pair of unmentionables ha ha.
ps sorry pops

Anxiety is all about the unknown SQ isn't it? Once you know, whatever that may be, you can gain strength because knowledge is power dontcha think?
I feel for you in that you have something big that ought to be taking up those anxiety vibes but because we're the way we are we have to fret about every little thing that is different until we can get to that point. I wish I had the magic words because I'd use 'em myself... but I don't. What I do know is we face these frantic feelings each and every time we come across them and we succeed each and every time too.0 -

Princess - Like possession we used to buy the really hard teething toys and keep them in the fridge. I seem to remember one of mine had teething biscuits as well, but cant remember which one it was sorry.
I don't think you can buy those any more - my brother used to have Ovaltine teething rusks and Bickie pegs!FairyPrincessk wrote: »...Fuddle--moves are such a very, very big thing. They (I don't know who they are, but they always seem to have such big opinions!) say it can take up to a year to adjust to a new location. I don't say that to scare you--I think you'll find it a wonderful adventure, but do cut yourself some slack in the coming 12-14 months! I'm so thrilled for you, and I can't wait to keep up with all of your new updates.
I agree - it took me a good 12 months to begin to call Blackpool "home".Morning everyone, when my girls teethed we used ambesol - it was a liquid anethestic bbut also numbed your finger as you applied it!!...
DS2 had Bonjela - applied both by finger and on his dummy0 -
Fuddle - delurking to say I moved 3 years ago, it took me over 12 months to settle. I started going to a local craft group and although it was only once a week, it was one thing in my week to look forward to.
Sq hope you scan goes ok today0 -
Good luck with the scan SQ - I understand how daunting it is, i had one for a breast lump a few years ago and I was in bits. It turned out to be nothing and I wished I hadn't got myself into such a state, but we can't help the way we feel. (((hugs))) for you.
It's a few years ago now but my grandma told me about bickie pegs and I thought they'd never still be around but they sell them in Boots!0 -

Lots to catch up on. Don't apologise SQ, we all have our fears and need support, financially, emotionally and physically. Nothing shocks/embarrasses me.
I may be single and male but there will always be times its appropriate for me to leave you all to discuss and advise from personal experience(but still I know a fair bit of what goes on from what I have witnessed/heard directly and what is talked about in the media.
Heck...I often hear Woman's Hour:)and men have their problems too. Often the mistake we make is that men don't open up enough."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
"Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in" ~ Alan Alda0 -
Big hugs SQ! I'll be thinking of you tonight and hoping that all goes
well. I know it must be overwhelming. Still, getting the scan done quickly is the best thing for you. I only wish looking after oneself wasn't so difficult!0
