Great news SQ!
That recipe looks nice Pops - I think I might have a go at making that GF.
Didn't need to get up early today, but set the alarm for 6.30 to make sure DS got up, but ten mins before the alarm went off Roxie wanted to go in the garden, she was gurgling fearsomely!!! I ended up letting her out twice, before DS actually got up, and it's just as well I did set the alarm, cos his was set for 7, not 6.30!!! Rox continued to gurgle, OH got up and let her out too before I actually got up...pesky dogs!!!
Waiting for OH to clear out of the kitchen, as it's Pasty day again. I made the pastry and the filling last night, ready for this morning.
Was really put out yesterday, because the kitchen sink was blocked. I told OH Tues evening that it wasn't draining properly, but he said it was fine. It wasn't!!! The dishwasher was filling the sink  So when he came in last night he got collared! He's managed to clear it, but it's still gluggy (bit like the dog) I do hope it's OK today, cos' its such a pain! Very lucky though that OH can do these jobs, cos' otherwise I'd have to pay loads.
The only cooky thing I managed to get done yesterday was to convert a load of OH's ripe tomatoes and red onions into Red Tomato Chutney - which is my absolute favorite, fortunately all the jars and stuff were already clean and just needed sterilised. I got eight small jars out of the batch. He's bought another load of toms in this morning, and I also have courgettes to turn into chutney. Before I deliver Pasties, I need to make a shopping list for anything I don't have to make it.

brushed cotton = flannelette is that right? Have been to Matalan for the children's beds (and spent the last of my voucher winnings) but am now having a moment of doubt.0

Flanelette is a woven cotton fabric - so you should be able to see the weave - then brushed.
I think you can get a brushed knit...but that will be stretchy and have a knitted stitch IYSWIM

Thanks Kate. They didn't have any sheets labelled flannelette so I'm hoping these will be as warm.0

SQ:T glad it all went OK, bet you are smiling this morning! And relax....
Just back from vet with Mr Puss. he was very good and quiet for his blood test, couldn't wait to get out of the basket when we got home. Test results should be back Monday then hopefully some thyroid medication will sort him out. he will need more blood tests (at nearly eighty pounds a time !!) to check the medication is working, then medication for life if it is. Poor lad, and good job i dont have to buy many Christmas presents this year as any spare money seems to be heading the vet's way.
Dd16 came home from college yesterday and says she needs safety boots for next week with steel toe caps fro doing her 'animal duties'. more expense.
Tea today is 'chuck it all in the pot soup' with all the odds and ends of bread to dip in, then maybe baked apples. I will carry on using up freezer stocks and doing small shops as needed to keep food bills down for a while.
I've been eyeing up a Vitamix blender as they are so versatile and there's so little wastage as you can use most fruit and veg whole with seeds and all, and the ability to produce quick soups, smoothies and desserts would suit our way of eating, but they are soooooo expensive. With Mr Puss's bills, I will have to carry on dreaming...
Have a good day everyone, hugs to those that need them.0 -
SQ: Well done for getting to your appointment. Bet your smiling ear to ear this morning. Great news on the all clear chick!!
Alfsmum: Ouch! £80 a time is a whopping amount. But we’ll do anything for our fur babies. Even if we face going bankrupted in the process!! Hope all come’s back clear x
Flannelette sheets. Last year I got a great set, From a very popular online auction site. E3ay!
Paid pennies for and its amazing. I’ve just put ours on the bed & OH is already complaining its too hot of a night time. Couldn’t care really. Its lovely. I will try and find the link if anyone is interested. Give me a shout…
OH got back from working away around 7 last night and to say he’s shattered and aching is an understatement. He was sleeping at 9!
Tonight is an easy tea & early night I think. Considering we have to get up at 5am every morning.
I’ve had to email the council this morning. We received a letter explaining that our council tax payments have changed. But according to the letter, The payments have gone up but our banding has suddenly changed.
Either, it’s a computer error or them cheeky swine’s have changed it without us knowing. Either way, Not clever from the council.
Right….Off to amend my dfw diary xFuture goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
Yes I'd like the link please Princess, as I've only got singles at the moment anyway.0
