  • Stiltwalker - is today your DH's last paid working day?

It is - he has less than an hour to go!! Tomorrow he starts working for a much harder taskmaster! :D:D:D

Well I'm feeling much better today - I went down with the lurgy yesterday and spent most of the day in bed reading. DD still off school as she was sick again at teatime yesterday but DS back to nursery. Hopefully we are all now over the worst and can get back to service as normal. It is DS's CAF tomorrow lunchtime and must do car tax :(

Take care all, catch you later - X

Wonder if we're having the similar lurgy as Stiltwalker and its a 24 hour thing? If you are feeling much improved SW that's great. All the best for Mr SW's new start tomorrow;)

Hope you feel less tired asap SQ,

Jem, I've no excuse for not getting on with that slow cooker. I've loads of recipes for so many meals that can be done in it.

Thankfully I am happy to eat the same meals sometimes for days without getting tired of them. Thinking I may buy a ladle to make it easier to move the contents onto a plate or into a bowl.

Had more sleep and dreams to match. I hate to imagine what they mean:p

  • Hi. Well I managed to get out for a little while this morning but am paying for it now. Went to see my CBT counsellor and talked about the whole youngest son situation. Feels better to have got some of the sadness off my chest.

OOOH Ginnyknit, when you coming past? I will definitely wave. Hope the weather improves for you as today we have very damp, thick fog and it doesn't seem to be lifting at all.:(

PrincessX you have my sympathy. When your back is so painful the whole world seems wrong. Hope it improves soon.

Pops I'm like that as well. Eating the same meal two or more days in a row doesn't bother me but would drive my DH mad. Had to be completely different each day. He would eat leftovers but they had to be made into something else and then have a few days space in between. Hope you recover from the lurgy quickly.

Mar if your weather is anything like ours you are much better off just sitting where you are. I went out and just got damp for my pains.:rotfl:

Well the kettle is calling me, don't think I can do much more today.

  • Hope you feel better soon Pops. It is cloudy today, very dull here. Took our wee dog his walk, so slow now bless him. He is 15 and a half and he is going down hill. He has given us so much fun love and companionship since a wee puppy. We will miss him so much when we no longer have him with us. He will always be in our hearts.
Our pets become part of our families quickly don't they? I know many of you have pets and feel exactly the same way, so I know you will all understand.
Well I made corned beef hash last night first time making it, and guess what? It was very tasty and my dh and ds would like it again please:) Happy days......... :)

Mrs LW: Thanks for that suggestion. Unfortunately I am eating my way through the plums like one possessed and I doubt there will be enough left by the end of the week for more than an eyebath full of anything.

By the way, congratulations on your new DGS2B. No-one ever tells you how precious grandchildren are. Before I had any I thought that however much I loved them it could never come anywhere close to the love I had for my children.

    WRONG.

I warn you now, you are about to lose your heart all over again. You will love them so much that it hurts.

Hi MARGARET, thank you very much, we are delighted with the news and having never grown our of our first childhood, we don't have to indulge in a second one, life will continue as normal with the addition of my darling little Blue Lentil!!! I've been trying to remember what his Mum liked best when she was little and it's touching spider webs very gently to make the spider think you are a fly, collecting conkers and pine cones specially on a windy day when they are raining down on your head from the tree, and we always had to have a bent stick when we did a woodsy walk, it was an elephant gun! it must have beem effective because I can't ever remember meeting an elephant!!! and climbing a big old hollow tree with a view across a valley full of orchards, they called it the look out tree, both of mine were complete and utter tomboys!!! Your corned beef hash is one of He Who Knows favourite meals, his mum used to make it for him when he was little, that and luncheon meat and pickle sandwiches, he's definately an economy model. Hope all is well with you and yours M'dear, Love Lyn xxx.

Thanks MONNAGRAN he already has my heart, it was given at first sight when his mum sent the picture of the scan, and you're so right, more love than I ever would have thought possible, it's all encompassing isn't it? Lyn xxx.

    Thanks for continued good wishes...
I went back to corned beef after many, many years. I have not made corned beef pie/hash as yet but the idea appeals a lot...

PIC, You've reminded me...when I was going to the Osmonds concert, I passed by a small Tesco's and they have tinned new potatoes and rice pudding for 15p.

I'm improving and may still manage my music club:)perhaps it is a 24 hour thing...

Late to the party, that's lovely news about your GS Mrs L.

Princessx, backache is awful whatever kind you have and until you have had it the media and others like to make on its nothing.
