Evening all,
Today I went to the zoo with DH and a friend, I was worried that Dh would exhaust himself with all the walking, but managed to pursue him to hire 1 of the scooters there, he admitted that his pride was a little dented at first, but he could then enjoy his day without exhausting what energy he had, and being a big boy at heart, he was doing grand prix impressions and taking it off road. surprised we didn't get kicked out and banned for life to be honest, but we had an amazing time and popped in to see BIL for dinner, and my sides hurt from the amount I have laughed today.
MRS LW congratulations, I love being an aunt, and can't wait to be a GM, I also taught my niece and nephew it's okay to get muddy and jump in puddles cos there mum, who left them, with my Amazing BIL hated dust and dirt Iin a paranoid way, her kids were scared to have a bit of dirt on them.

Katie don't know how good it will be but ald*so best buy this Sunday is some sewing sets, including threads.

OK, need to go to bed, got the funeral director coming over tomorrow DH, thinks his send off should put the fun back into funeral:cool:
Speak again tomorrow or should I say later today,
What happened to my plans for early Nights??
Hugs to those who need them X CC

Morning everyone, just popping in before work. MRS LW congratulation on a blue lentil!!! You will be the best oma ever!!. Ive missed the post that fuddle is moving, I hope all goes well. Fresh new start for them all. Kez I bet you will miss your meet ups for coffee and cake.

My youngest DD is 18 today. Fell very old today!!!! I got her a bracelet from p@ndora - from a secondhand shop. It is real, but cost a fraction of the new price. Bless she was so excited to get it.

I had to work last night for 5 hours with collegue who has drink problem. I found myself feeling very angry - in fact we hardly spoke. I know I will end up saying something so I decided to keep quiet. I think we only spoke about a dozen words.

Well must get ready need to leave on a few minutes x

Morning all

Thick fog here and it's lovely and fresh, supposed to be sunny and warm later so lots of washing to do today. DH has a cold, sorry....Man Flu....cos it's far worse than a cold....;).and is moaning and groaning, I've left him in bed for now.

I've got my parents coming later in the week and have invited other family members too (dads siblings) as they all still live in the area. Going to do a big vat of roasted veg soup and a couple of fresh loaves. Sorted all the fruit out from the freezer to make some crumbles/muffins too. I've no idea how many I'm feeding as I've no idea what time people are coming but I will be prepared! (great excuse to use up some of the freezer stocks too)

Why can't DDs get up and dressed for school/college without music blasting out? Good job DH can sleep through anything.

• Morning all,

Relishing another work from home day here. I still have lots to do, but I like being able to do it in peace and quiet, switch laundry over when I go down for a cup of tea, and wearing slippers isn't bad either!

Bit hugs AOT. Congratulations Mrs. LW!!! A little blue lentil, eh? What fun:T

Molly, big hugs to your DD (and you!) I remember when I first moved to Wales from the US. I felt like nothing could go right, everything took three times as long as it should and although I was meeting people there was no one I was close to yet. My close friends from Uni got together and put together a box for me. When it got to me, I think I sat on the floor and cried as I opened it. It was just a collection of little things, all in my favourite colour. One of them was a foam crown (they call me FPK too!) which is still on my desk at work. I noticed it the other day and remembered how much that box meant to me. They also made me a card with notes and jokes from each of them that I have up. Perhaps a bit of mail might help Miss Molly? Maybe a few small things to decorate her digs, or a packet of her favourite biscuits, or maybe a cold care box for when she finally succumbs to freshers flu? You know her best! My mum also sometimes pops a few pounds in an envelope and posts it to me with a note of how I'm to use it--never anything sensible:rotfl: A fiver for a hot chocolate or a magazine to relax with might help.

Right, I'd better get a move on. I'm planning lessons for meeting one of my groups of students next week and three groups the week after. They're all first years so lots to take in. One of my classes is a more general study skills class so we'll be making word clouds to get to know each other and how we like to work, how we like to relax and what our goals are. I've got to go and buy some marker pens as I want them to be colourful. Many of these students will be international and I want them to have something for their blank walls if they would like to use it that way. My other classes are more substantive topic based, but I always ask them on the first day what they've had for breakfast and then give them a talking to when at least a few of them say 'nothing' I remind them that even cold pizza is a good option. The newest research seems to say we aren't full adults until around 25, and that adjustment to Uni is a big one--I like to do my bit to make it fun.
• MONNAGRAN take out some of your baguettes and use them to make a plum bread and butter pudding to use in the drop in centre. 2 results, you don't waste the plums and it also gives you a bit of freezer space to puree the apples and pop them in for later. The apples and pears should wait quite happily for a week or so until you have time to deal with them, Cheers Lyn xxx.
• It’s a lovely fresh morning here. Smells like autumn approaching. Which for me is very exciting. Does anyone else think that the changes of seasons has their own smells?

I’ve got all the windows open today. I’m going to try have a good clean and source some bits & bobs that can be given to the charity shop. I say try as ive somehow managed to hurt my back. Its crimpling me. It started suddenly yesterday evening & going to bed was extremely painful. This morning, I cant sit, lay, stand, bend. But I’m trying to move around to stop it getting any worse.

Yesterday, I divided the apples up into loads of smaller portions. We now have enough for puds, apple sauce, apple glaze, alike. So that’s all in the freezer now. I’m really getting into the OS of living. Before hand, The apples might have made one apple pie / crumble and been wasted. I am quite angry at myself & OH that we was extremely wasteful. If only we could turn the clock back….

The talk of food banks…I have looked in our local area. There isn’t one for miles. People around here concentrate on expensive cars, High property prices ect. We rarely have any community events to raise cash for local charities. I will be contacting our nearest food bank and asking if they would like leaflets handed out also.

People nowadays have a disgusting attitude towards money & giving. I remember once when I was little. My old Nan said to me. There will come a time when you only have pennies left to last you. But if you have health, love & happiness your already rich. Therefore give to those who aren’t. Such a wise & wonderful women she was!
Future goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy
• Ouch PX87 take care of your back, it's so uncomfortable when it hurst like this. I think part of it might be due to your being so stressed and tense for the past few days. If you can physically get in and more importantly out again I find a nice warm bath or shower helps with some pain killers and maybe a muscle rub, poor you. You can't turn the clock back lovey, but you can make the decision to live differently and be more OS from today, there's nothing to be gained from beating yourself up for things you've already done the only thing you can say is I'll do it in the OS way from now on and remember to make it happen. Glad you've got your apples sorted, well done, hope your sorely, poorly back gets better very quickly, Love Lyn xxx.
• Morning everyone

I need someone to spur me on this morning (or give me a kick up the @ss)

When hubby is stressed he gets on and tinkers with things or keeps himself busy where as I'm a champion Wallow-er, in fact I have won several awards for coming first in wallowing :rotfl:

I can't be depressed as I only look at the underside of the duvet when I'm depressed I'm just blahhhhhhhh.

As DH and I both have medical issues we decided to do was to start up our own business in good quality second hand items and selling them on for a small profit. The problem is it as soon a you register at the tax office everyone is at you for this that and tuther and if your nerves are a little fragile it can soon get on top of you. I wonder if we made the right decision and we haven't even sold anything yet :o

Today I need to get my butt into gear and get on with it, start small and just start.....................now where's the kettle :D

PiC x
