  • Over the weekend we was given loads of cooking apples. I'm wondering if they can be frozen, If so, How do i prepare them?

Also, I have some pears too.

I would make pies, crumble ect but trying to hold out on shopping until this weekend...

  • PX87 I usually cook the apples for the freezer and make apple puree with them, it is very useful to use under crumble toppings and also with roast pork, we even use it with porridge at breakfast time. I freeze it in bags and flatten them so they stack on top of each other for easier storage. Pears I would peel, halve, core and cook and freeze them in portions big enough for the two of you. I freeze in bags again but put the bag into a tupperware container to freeze it into a brick shape, again it makes them easier to stack up in the freezer, hope that helps, Cheers Lyn xxx.
  • O congratulations MrsLW. Bet you will be a brilliant grandmother - OMA is it?

Have not been posting much as still very down and arthritikity.:( Just can't seem to find the energy to be bothered with anything. Good job I had full freezer as cooking one of the things I can't be bothered with.

Oh Jem how awful about DS scooter. Poor bairn (can you tell what part of the country I'm from).

SavingQueen you are right to postpone your volunteering role for a while. Don't feel guilty, you have acted in the best interests of yourself and potential clients.

Its been beautiful sunny and warm here today. Such a shame to waste it but not up to the effort of going out. Will go and put kettle on again.

Mrs LW - congratulation but shouldn't you be floating on a blue cloud - for a boy;)
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

hug.gifAOT, I hope you feel better as the day goes on...I'm doing v little myself...still paying for the Alnwick trip. Its worse when you feel emotional. It does seem a waste of a lovely sunny day, its the same here...perhaps I'll make the effort later this week as I have nothing on for Wed, Fri and the weekend. I keep Tues/Thurs free because of the music club and bingo night.

For the first time that I can remember the walk in Flu clinic at my Dr's surgery is different this year and is on the next two Saturday mornings(not through the week)and after that you have to make an appointment. Don't know why its changed. So it could mess up any plans for the weekend unless I am first in the queue.

  • Hi MOLLY how's it all going today, I hope Miss Molly has found her feet at Uni and that you are gradually getting used to the space in the house and not worrying too much about her. You are quite right of course, it should be a blue cloud but I'm so very happy it can be any colour it wants to today, tomorrow it can turn blue and I'll be proud as punch, I just can't wait until February. Now I have to make myself be very disciplined and not buy everything that seems like a good idea mustn't I? Love to Molly and Poppy puppies, you too of course, Lyn xxx.
