Afternoon toughies.
MRS CHIP - have you got a hangover?Hope you haven't, sounded a nice evening.
Glad you and Smiley had a fun get together ginny.
Your "fake" fire and all the trimmings sound so cosy cornishchick.
Hope your household is less poorly stilts.
Cheaps, I know what you mean about those people in your little "circle" - mine is even smaller, just me, DH and our boys, cats and a couple of close friends. Other friends also count and somewhere outside the circle in varying rings are different family members from outside our household. I feel sad I am not in contact for now with my parents, especially for our boys but generally feel better without them and the sense of relief not seeing THE MIL is beyond description.... I know we will have to see them all eventually but hoping we can make the gaps in between visits very very long. Tbh won't care if I never saw MIL or FIL ever again!
Jem - sorry to hear about your troubles with school and DS's scooter - I know it's not the same and DS won't understand but could you get one from freecycle to take the edge off the upset for him and maybe save for a new one for his birthday/Xmas? Big cuddly hugs for you today
Princess and nutty - huge cuddly hugs to you too. And for anyone else I've forgotten (sorry if I have) and anyone just reading along - the hugest and cuddliest of hugs.
Supposed to be at two different courses today (follow up for one and start of a new one) and couldn't face either, anxiety too bad. My DBS check for my volunteer role came in post just now and has prompted me to make a final decision to email the boss and tell her I can't start volunteering just yet and why. I feel awful and guilty about it but I am not in the right mental or physical state to support others especially when I have to commit to weekly meetings at set times/dates for 3 months at a time. It wouldn't be fair to the client and will just add to my anxiety.
Decided thought that to balance the negativity of not going to courses today I should do something positive so took up my friend's offer of going to the gym (my 2nd session now!) Have to say I enjoyed the chatting with friend and other gym users more than the actual exercise!
Had a stressful start to the day, DS6 for some unknown (to me)reason really didn't want to go to school, how I got him ready and there on time I will never know. Had a word with brilliant TA to forewarn her (she has seen his outbursts so knows what I mean). he has been fine for ages and not seeing learning mentor this year so crossing everything it's just a blip. May have to reinstate the LM if not I guess.
Ok need to pop to shops to get a few things before school run, it comes along so fast

Gailey, cheesecake recipe!
Use a loose-bottom tin if you have one (makes it easer to get out!) and line with cling film.
1/2 packed ginger biscuits, crushed, mixed with 50g melted butter/marg. Spread over base of tin. Put into fridge to chill.
Mix 1-2 packets cream cheese with grated lemon zest, lemon juice & about 2 tbsp icing sugar. Beat til soft.
Spread cream cheese mix over biscuit base.
Top with either raspberries, lemon curd, grated chocolate or drained mandarin oranges.0 -
