A big warm welcome and hello to Burtha.
Kidcat- hope you enjoyed your meal out yesterday. sending you hugs and positive thoughts for whatever the weekend brings. Hope you are able to find a little space for yourself, please try to.
AOT - just made a pot of tea and saved a cuppa for you in my favourite mug. How are you today? I think it was monnagran who posted some really good advice to you, I second that. Take care, we are here for you whatever else is going on.
Gailey - you have so much on your plate and yet have a real fighting spirit. Glad you were able to find small pleasures and have lots of ideas to make/save money. I know your DH's job is less pay but it's a start, some money coming in and always easier to get another job when you are employed. All will be well in the end, keep on believing in better times and with your attitude, they will happen!
You are a jet setter VJsmum! Fantastic to be able to earn a month's money in a weekend. Hope you have a great time if I forget to mention later.
Princess - I hope the situation with OH's family calms down for OH and everyone. Good job your OH has you on his side. You might not be able to do anything about his brother and his parents' behaviour but you can support him at least. His parents will be feeling stressed and worried and maybe used to taking out these feelings on OH as he is the calm, steady son in contrast to their opposite son.

Morning all,
I went to bed before DS9 last night, so tired but then didn't get enough sleep the night before. Turning into some sort of semi-hibernating animal! DS9 asked me yesterday why I am so tired all the time. Don't want him worrying, he gets anxious enough as it is.
On the plus side, work up at the crack of dawn this morning and can always have a nap this afternoon again if I have to. I am slowly learning to pace myself to get through the day.
Sneaked a look in at my sleeping boys - DS6 had stripey cat asleep on his pillow squashed into the top of DS's head. Cats are supposedly strictly forbidden on beds but DS gets so much comfort going to sleep with stripey boy and cat wakes him up gently too. Stripey cat has a bad back and needs warmth so I think the rules will stay broken now.
Plan today is to make a list of tasks in priority order for next week and a sensible timetable to fit them in, meal plan for next week and this weekend, various bits for/with boys like uniform washing, dance class, homework etc. Anything else is a bonus.I am feeling overwhelmed out of control with everything and need to get a grip.
ok second cuppa and little play on wobblyweb and then bath/dressed and pick a couple of chores to do.
take care

Good Morning x
Flying visit as taking DD to university today. She has worked her socks off and overcome many obstacles including severe dyslexia.
Very proud of her and excited for her future but will really miss her xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning MOLLY, glad you're up and about and hope you're well on the way to recovery after the op. How is Dad getting on after his stroke, I hope he's making good progress as well. How proud you must be taking your DD off to uni, it's a mixed feeling of pride and concern when you take them the first time isn't it? I'm sure she will have a good time and work just as hard for her degree as she has for her place, enjoy the proud parent moment!!! Love and Hugs to all of you including Molly and Poppy, Lyn xxx.0

Hope the uni trip goes well today Molly. You have every right to be a really proud mum. Well done to the both of you! Let us know how it went later.
Burtha - you are not being a wimp, you are recovering from an accident. Difficult and frustrating to have to take a back seat when you are used to rushing about but you must be a good girl - rest up, go to physio, come on the toughies thread and you will recover more quickly.

Morning all
The promise of a lovely weekend here, I shall make the most of it. Lots of washing to catch up on, some gardening to do, lots of wood to chop and some furniture painting to do too. DD2s BF is coming for the weekend so I told him to bring old clothes and I will put him to work digging and chopping (you've got to take advantage of having teenage boys around when you've only got wimpy girls)
Ginny - I feel your pain re the script, we had a fiasco yesterday too. It shouldn't always have to be such hard work.
Shegar - I hope you can enjoy your respite time and that DS can help you do the right thing for your doggie when the time comes. Hugs x
Molly - best wishes for your DD, I can't even begin to think how much I will miss DD1 next year when she goes.
Burtha - take care after that accident, having had a whiplash injury I know just how debilitating it can be. I still suffer 7 years after the accident and wish I'd have listened to the advice a bit harder at the time.
Made a lovely lasagna last night, added plenty of oats and grated carrot to pad it out well and managed to get 8 portions out of it, so plenty for the freezer. DDs were good company last night and we all sat round the table chatting for nearly 4 hours. A lovely end to a pretty manky week."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Morning everyone
Quiet day with no jumblesI don't like no jumble Saturdays.
Please pass this on
If you are being bullied or harassed at work you only have THREE MONTHS from the date of the last incident to put in a grievance. It does not matter if the grievance is not upheld you HAVE to put it in and it has to be logged incase the need of further action.
Do not be fooled/lied to into "wait til your out of the way/they get moved"
In exceptional circumstances it can be three months from when you stopped working there but this is EXCEPTIONAL and has to be backed up with proof of why it was not submitted.
Please pass this on to anyone having trouble at work.0 -

Oh good luck - bite your lip until you leave
I have been involved with freshers this week - ours came last weekend. Just remember it is in the university's interest to make sure that Freshers are happy, we don't want them leaving before we can get those fees. Seriously much effort is put into all Freshers at all Universities - these first few weeks are so important to their long term propects at the Uni - I took some on a walking tour of the city on Thursday and was hearing about this that and the other party. I used to be a bit envious - too tired to care now :rotfl: I've been there, done that, probably bought too many t shirts - and now they are dusters
I have a day of work to prepare for my lectures next week, and the lecture someone else is giving for me while I am away. OH and DS went out at 4 this morning - they've gone volunteering on a steam railway in Wales and DS had to be in the engine shed at 7
In between all that I need to try and tidy the house a little, some green tomato chutney to make (they never made it to red), and some beans to pick and freeze. Have a good day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Pooky, could you PM me details of your dehumidifier please? I think we need one but DH isn't convinced...could do with borrowing one to try before I buy.
Am currently on the Lottie with a mug of hot chocolate surveying my plot listening to the radio0
