Just seen the big car crash in Kent.

That is where I am from and where a lot of family and friends still live - including dad but he doesn't go out now. My brother face booked to say he was in it but is OK. Said it was thick white fog and people were driving like idiots and with no lights on. The other carriageway had people stop to look at carnage, or help if we are being kind, but also got hit

Nightmare :( but there don't seem to be any fatalities.

Glad son has had his op Mar. You might feel better when you've seen him for yourself.

    Sorry for your problems, Molly

Glad to see you back SDG

    Right, better do some work
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Morning Toughies, DD1 texted early this morning to say she has woken up to a house full of snow!!!!! Odd we thought, it's very warm here so on asking for an explanation she said the Pushkin Kitten was looking very pleased with himself and purring loudly at the bottom of the bed, 'Pushkin, what is it?' she asked, Purrrrrrrrrrr..........kitten jumps pff bed dissapears into the landing and comes back with more snow, looking very pleased with himself. ' Pushkin, where is it coming from?' she asked, Pushkin left the room again and came back with a cotton wool ball which he proceeded to shred before her eyes and bat about the room with his paws, purring very, very loudly. He'd found an entire new bag of cotton wool balls and shredded about 3/4 of them during the night, Baaaaadddddddd Kitten, but so funny!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

:D canny kitten :rotfl: Eeeh Lyn, cotton wool is a horror to get up off carpet

    Morning all :)

mardatha I really hope your son has had his op and that he heals quickly x

Lyn I am so glad that the wedding went so well. My DH did the same thing as your new SIL and joined in my vows. You can see me on the wedding video trying to get him to stop and still keep a straight face.

    Well done Miss Pooky :T

AOT I hope you are ok after your fall.

Happy birthday to your DM nuttyp :)

Well I am still alive and kicking. Thankfully my tablets seem to have started working and I am feeling a lot calmer. The negative thoughts that constantly streamed through my brain seem to have been stopped as well which is wonderful. It's a good job as we have been dealing with DH having problems with his ears. The GP thinks there is a chance he has Meniere's Disease which is reportable to the DVLA. If he can't drive then he doesn't have a job, so everything is crossed that he has just had an inner ear infection.

It was my birthday on Sunday so I am now the proud owner of this lovely new gadget- http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-jl110-sewing-machine/p527345?colour=Turquoise :D We had a few problems buying one and originally came home with a Brother machine due to mistakes on the John Lewis website. It turned out not to do half the things the website said it did, so it went back yesterday. A lovely lady called Chantelle went above and beyond and I got the new machine, some money as a good will gesture and a voucher for tea and cake for two in the caf!. Free cake works for me :D. Now I just need to learn how to use the thing and see if I ever manage to sew a straight seam. Does anyone have any ideas/patterns for easy things I could make please?

Much hugs and love to everyone xxxx

SDG I hope that isn't something and just a bit nothing. Fingers crossed for you all. Immense stress. Guess what? I have the red machine :) It's alright isn't it. Does the job and dinky. :) Pleased to read your meds are helping you out now.

It always goes tits up when you least need it. My Dad has just been rushed into hospital with heart problems and my Mum is disabled. Hubby has gone across to see what is going on but Im stuck here with this wretched bolt stuck in my head. Oh God .........it never rains but it pours and thunders and lightening.

Aw Molly! The worry and frustrations you must be feeling will be awful. I feel for you and your Mr for having more on his plate. I hope your family can get through all this and manage a meal together complete with a toast at the end of it. Hang on to those thoughts.

Kez, excellent to read of the school acting correctly over such silly threats. You'll be alright ;)

Mar, time to let the healing begin. Give our toughies love to him when you visit, even if he does look at you like you've cracked up ;)

Oh! Thanks Mrs VP for telling me how to cook the mackerel. It's destined for Saturday's lunch.

Monnagran I hae read all the magazines from cover to cover - Toughies Monnagran's humour is rife through the magazine she edits. Honestly, I can spot her pieces a mile off ;)

Well Autumn arrives tomorrow. Rain all day and highs of 14 degrees  Frantically trying to get washing dried on the line. I am in need of an indoors airer. £9.99 cheapest in Arg0s. Anyone seen anywhere cheaper. I know, I'm tight and £9.99 is cheap - gotta try though ;)

I was very calm this morning but I was also very aware and making sure there was nothing to trip me up. I doubt it has anything to do with the coffee but keeping off it in the mornings. I will allow myself 1 after lunch, the rest tea. I enjoyed a spiced apple and camomile on waking this morning. Really nice but well aware that all this is just in my head ;)

VJ's Mum I know quite a few people on Sheppey too, being a Medway girl. But so far at least it appears there's amazingly few injuries.
    I hate that bridge.
  • Morning all,
Just been catching up on everyone's news, congrats to Miss Pooky on passing her driving test, I passed mine a year ago at the grand old age of 30 :D made such a difference to us but we only have the one car and DH needs it so I just get it occasionally. Molly sorry to hear your bad news take care and hope your Dad is ok. Mar glad your son finally got his op and that they get the pain under control for him. Kez glad your son had a good time at school and didn't get too stressed.
Sorry if I have missed anyone.
Well we are on day 3 of school here and I am starting to feel a bit sad about all my babies being at school, I think I need a project to keep me busy during the day when I am not snowed under baking for other people :D
My youngest DS seems to be coping ok with Reception although I don't think the same can be said for the teachers that have him all day :0 he is hard work and very highly strung, am hoping that once he is into their routine he will settle down a bit. Middle DS teacher came out to see me last night just to say what a lovely boy he is and a pleasure to teach, nearly made me cry, especially after all the problems he had in his previous school related to learning and his Dyspraxia. Eldest DS is enjoying his second year of high school and is very pleased to have a Male maths teacher this year, he didn't get on well with his previous teacher she was sacked for assaulting a pupil in the end :0
Weather was beautiful when we got up but seems to be getting darker by the second and I might have to go and rescue my washing off the line in a minute.
I treated myself to a visit to the local library after I had dropped the boys at school and got a pile of books that should keep me busy, I LOVE books and could never own a Kindle I love the feel, smell of a book especially new books although I don't get those very often usually charity shop or library.
Sorry I am rambling, think I must be lonely, anyway off to have a rummage and see what I can magic up for tea tonight we have very little in and are desperate for a BIG food shop. Have a great day all x
Proud mummy to 3 beautiful boys! :D
  • mardatha do hope your son is on the mend and you and your family are bearing up
    all the best
    onwards and upwards
  • MOLLY love, how upsetting when you are carrying your own load of problems, thank goodness your OH is mobile and can go to see your poor Mum, she must be beside herself with worry over the two of you. I hope there is a friend or relative that can pick up the strings for mum and be there to help out and hope so very much that your Dad is making a good recovery. It never rains but that it pours as you say. Hugs and more hugs for you all, just concentrate on getting fit as quickly as you can pet, that way you'll be up and about far sooner and able to help your folks if they still need it.

FUDDLE don't worry she has laminate on all the floors except the landing, naughty Pushkin, bad kitten!!!!!!!

MAR well done on the broccoli taming, we'll make a cook of you yet, see you're having ideas and making them work in the kitchen, that's all there is to it really. So glad your sons op is over and done with, hope very much that his pain is controlled today, such a long period of pain is very hard to cope with. Will you be able to visit? I'm sure you'll feel better about the whole thing when you've seen him.

KEZ well done for talking to the school, I hope they will monitor the situation from now on and make sure nothing happens on school land. Well done to DS2 for coping with a new teacher and school year.

SDG good news about your meds making a difference, FREE CAKE and TEA? Rockin!!!!!!!

MONNAGRAN good luck to you both for tomorrow, and I wish those who have transgressed just what they deserve, no more, no less, but exactly what they deserve. We'll watch developements with interest, loads and loads of love and hugs to you both, keep treading water and don't forget to breathe!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.
  • Just wanted to pop in--

Molly, my thoughts are with you and your family. What a difficult time with so many challenges.

Mar, I hope your son's pain is better controlled now and that the healing process goes smoothly.

    Good luck tomorrow Monnagran!

NuttyP--I'll just pass you a cup of coffee. And I hope you get to celebrate with your mum on another day.

Kez--well done. I know your boys must feel so loved and secure knowing they have a mum who will face her fears and do what she needs to ensuring they are safe and happy.

Right, busy days. Hugs to any and all others who need or want them.

Oh dear MOLLY, I am so sorry you have more worries. I hope things get back on an even keel soon.

MAR, so glad the op is over and hopefully the pain will be under control by now.

LYN, what a norti kitten. I glanced out of the bedroom window yesterday to see a very norti chocolate Labrador trying to help himself to the handful of plums on our young tree!!!luckily my Mum's tree is weighed down With fruit and I didn't have the heart to shout at him.

Had to go into work today for Occ Health assessment so was very anxious, still havent calmed down but Dr was very nice. Trying to relax now but need to get all the washing done and dried before the rain comes. Boiling hot again here but not as bad as the south east. I hadn't heard about the big crash until now as I've not had the radio on. Came home to txt from Dd16 asking me to ring her. Turns out she just wanted to see if I got on Ok at work, bless her.

Son sounded brighter this morning but says the morphine only lasts two hours and he gets it every four. But every hour that passes surely it should ease. We won't go up as it'e a 90-mile round trip and we went up Tues. TY so much for all good vibes xxx
I've just spent hours sorting out all the new xmas soaps on Flickr, the link is in my profile if anybody is interested.
Monnagran, would you know if you can be buried in a churchyard without being a member of that church? with a Spiritualist minister?
Weather here is still nice, it's very odd lol.Should be out in the garden I think
