I don't cry fuddle pet I just get on with it :) We went up to see him, looking very poorly. He's on antibiotic drip and liquid morphine, waiting to be operated on, but they are very busy. And his boss called and wants to see him asap, preferably tonight, which is causing him to worry. I told him deal with that when you feel better- he can wait.
I'm not very happy really as it happened at 3pm yesterday and it seems a long wait, but at least he's being dealt with.
TY for all nice vibes xxx

Ouch Mar, That was an awful thing to happen. Lots of hugs for your poor DS - only being a man he probably doesn't do hugs, not even from an old granny. I agree that the boss probably wants to make sure that everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet. A bit of concern for his employee wouldn't come amiss.

Well done all those Mums who saw their littlies off to school for the first time today, Yes, OK Fuddle. What are you like! It's a sad time isn't it? I wonder what stories they had to tell when they got home. My DS1 came back the first day and said No, he hadn't enjoyed it much and he still couldn't read and he didn't think he would bother going again! I don't think he ever got over the shock of finding that he didn't have a choice.

MrsLW: The wedding sounds terrific. What a lovely occasion for your memories.

Kez, hope that ds2 coped all right and didn't have any nasty dealings with D. What a nightmare.

My DGS goes back on Thursday so won't be leaving the Island till tomorrow. I took him out with me yesterday. We went into W.H. Smithies and he aked if he could have a magazine. He chose a comic and when I had paid for it he said, "Thank you very much Monna. I love you." There was a collective Ahhh...from the queue behind me and one woman said, "What a lovely lad". My heart swelled with pride.

To anyone who is still interested - the local press is now involved with the Rev's story. That will thrill those who thought they'd played a blinder in getting rid of her. I'll let you know what happens on Friday when it comes out..

DD loved her first day!! And school loved her - her home school book said she was a delight (proud mummy moment).

I didn't cry but mind you I still had DS home today, he goes back to nursery tomorrow so will have a few hours to myself once I have been back into school (after dropping him at nursery) for DD's physio. Will be funny being so quiet aft4er the mania of the summer hols.

Hoping to get some of my EMA project done.

    Take care all - Hugs - X

Mar, his boss will want to see him because they need to know exactly what happened (and to cover their own backs). This is why I said just to make sure the accident reports have been filled in correctly - it's important for DS that they have and it's his boss's legal duty to do it. It isn't anything for DS to be worried about though.

DS's first day at secondary school seems to have gone well - he was most impressed by the fact that they can buy waffles in their break time. I have warned against excessive spending but I'm resigned to a bit of excitement.

possession glad younipper liked his first day at school. Beware nip it in the bud now, my spent £25 in a week buying breakfast at school, after he claimed he was to full eat to finish his at home.
Decided he wanted to eat toast and things at school! forced him to eat breakfast after and no more cookies at break time at school!

Stilwalker aw so pleased she enjoyed her first day back!

Monnogran aw what a lovely compliment. Never know lets see what happens on Friday!
DS2 is back tomorrow, he's been up and down for the past three hours, he's going to be shattered for his first day back.

DS1 was shattered after double pe, said it was boring today, in other words he's stressed.

OH is on his way from London as we speak, should be home by 1am. I've said i'll wait for him, going to be shattered in the morning.

  • Have you heard from your workers safety group? Over here it's called the Workers Compensation Board.

My unit gets a lot of workplace safety injuries. Lately, the WCB have had investigators on the ward within 24 hours of the accident taking statements.

I'm being kind and hoping the boss comes bearing grapes and flowers.

Hope he's doing well because by the time you read this he should be on the other side of the OR.

DH has suggested a 'supper' instead of starters and puddings. They will come in the same form but at later in the evening. I like that idea and it means I'm not stressing about courses altogether. :)

That's what I do, Fuddle. I tend to have breakfast food like porridge.
(* I confess there is hardly a cake, biscuit or pudding I don't like :rotfl:)

My nanna has asked me if I will have my cousins 7mt old daughter if she is removed from her care by ss.

Oh, dear, what a situation! You'll be very much in my thoughts.

Well, here at Greenwood the saga of the Builders Who Need Electricity continues. A neighbour agreed that she would stay in for them yesterday but when I came back at 2pm (to check the cats) the builders asked me to do it because she had gone out. I said 'No.' And promptly went out again myself. Today I have told her I am similarly not available because of a hospital visit (I've said I'll do Thursday) so we shall see what transpires. I really am monumentally ticked off.

God, I bliddy hate stationary shopping. Money just leaks out and all you've got to show for it is one small bag of pens etc. DS also needs two school bags - one for books and one for PE, and each need a pencil case (each child, not each bag). Every year I buy these - EVERY YEAR! surely a damn pencil case should last more than a year.

    What a shame! It's something I really enjoy :)

    Morning all

There is an obligation from a boss/manager to visit anyone after an accident to make sure everything is ok/see if there's anything the company can do. What a cynical bunch you all are.

Hope the surgery went well Mar.

Glorious sunrise again today, all vivid oranges bursting through a hazy mist. If you painted it, it would look wrong but it was just stunning.

Test day for DD1, keep it all crossed please. She's not nervous at all....well she wasnt last night but I'm sure there will be a few nerves this morning.

Finally finished my chair, I got very cross with the zip yesterday, we had words....then I unpicked it and started again....it still wasn't playing right so I've left it, it's not as neat as I'd have liked but no o e aside from me needs to see it so hey ho! (pics in the usual place)

Off to sort out the larder and freezer and make a meal plan for the month, I made an order from AF yesterday as they had lots of bits we use on there so need to download a list of that too so I can incorporate it.
