Fuddle, bless ya better to be early than late. If it makes you feel better, I have done the same in the past.

Mar, I hope your son is ok. It sounds very scarey at the moment, and as fuddle mentions its amazing what modern surgery can do.

Mr lw, I am glad your wedding celebrations went ok and the weather stayed sunny for you. It s very stuffy and humid here today.

Tea is all prepared, and DD is fast asleep. He mose is hurting like mad now. The aneshetic is wearing off, I can see this being a long evening!!

    Take care x

Sorry Molly - meant to say welcome back to the land of OSing xx
I don't cry fuddle pet I just get on with it :) We went up to see him, looking very poorly. He's on antibiotic drip and liquid morphine, waiting to be operated on, but they are very busy. And his boss called and wants to see him asap, preferably tonight, which is causing him to worry. I told him deal with that when you feel better- he can wait.
I'm not very happy really as it happened at 3pm yesterday and it seems a long wait, but at least he's being dealt with.
TY for all nice vibes xxx
  • FUDDLE Lentil is due on the 10th of February and DD says had better not be late because it's her own birthday on the 16th and she wants a glass of bubbly, she's not doing alcohol at the moment!!!
  • mard (((hugs))) to you and DS. Hope the op goes well. I'd be telling his boss where to get off at the moment I think!

Mar modern surgery is fantastic. When ds2 broke his arm they used xray surgery to manipulate the bones back in place. No scars, cuts, bruises, it was amazing. Sending lots of healing vibes!!

Tell your sons boss to stuff it, he needs to heal first. Cheeky so and so:mad:

Nutty enjoy the birthday meal :)
    FPK enjoy Stockholm :)
lynn your daughters wedding sounds wonderful, can imagine HWK saying the brides words :rotfl:
fuddle i've done that far to many times :)

We finally went to town today, paid money into the business account. bought much needed teabags, shock horror, we actually ran out
Honestly i expecting the world to end. Its never happened before.

We took the train and cost us a whopping £2.40 return myself and ds2 . On the bus it would have been £6.60 return!!!
If i'm on my own and not using the rail card its £2.10 return, half the price of the bus!

On the way back a couple came and sat with us who were going to whitby and ds2 chatted to them all about the best places to go and how nice the train journey is. The couple adored him and when got off they were waving and blowing kisses at him through the window. Really hope the weather is lovely for them :)

So guess what we'll be using from now on. Shame we can't use it for the school run, its just the times are inconvenient, its either arriving in town at 7:30am or 8:43am and only have 8 mins to get to school. Either too much or too little time.

Ah well at least we can use it on the weekends, takes 5 mins to get to town, so no traffic :D No parking charges and cheaper than driving all round.

DS2 loves the train, its not to busy, he gets to stretch his legs, look out the window and use the loo whenever. He's less stressed when and you can really see the difference in him.

Decided to let ds2 pick dinner, he found reduced breaded fish (takes after his mum), mushy peas, potatoes and tartare sauce. He's so chuffed :D.

Just hope all goes well tomorrow, he really stressing out about D turning up at the school. I've told him she won't and if anything happens the school will protect him. Poor thing what with that and a change in routine he's all over the place. Ah well it will soon get soon be over.

Mar, is your son's boss honestly hopeing he will just walk out of hospital, visit him and then just go back. Does he not realise exactly how serious his injury is??? If he wants to see him so damh urgently he could visit him in hospital. TBH if he is on morphine I doubt he will get any sense out of him anyway.

some people have no concept of things to do they?? Stay strong mar, he will be all mended soon. x

Ok, I have to admit. I took the girls to school today... it wasn't open. The date I had in my diary was from the school back where I used to live. Tomorrow here - I have to go through the whole first day frantics again tomorrow. :(

I am sorry for your :( face, but this is quite funny! I have done it too - one year, due to a muddle of different letters only half the (v. small) primary school actually arrived on the correct day. Ah well, a bonus holiday day.:)

Mar - thinking of you and your poor DS. My brother lost a finger at work and my nephew lost one in a door when he was about 2 (door slammed shut on him). Neither would notice any difference now - and my bro was in his 20's. All will be well, I am sure.

Well, I grabbed a pot of beef in beer out of the freezer for tea before leaving for work. Came to tip it into a pan and have discovered it is chicken stock :rotfl: that'll teach me not to label things, there was a layer of fat on the top so it could have been either. I am hoping I have the ingredients for risotto available.

Ooh FPK, Stockholm, lovely. Do try to go to Ostermalm Saluhall market - it's a foodhall / market and is lovely. There is an expensive restaurant there which I am told is lush - my budget only ran to the Swedish tradition of fika (coffee and cake) but was still nice. A really good restaurant I have been to a few times (I was there with work, and once on holiday) is Bla Porten on Djurgarden which isn't stupidly expensive, is traditional and is lovely. You can travel back to Slussen by Ferry which is cheap and gives lovely views.

    Have a lovely time.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Hello everyone :)

just having a quick catchup but will have to read the rest later, need to get on with stuff here.

Pinkdebster - sorry to hear you have had a rough few weeks, must be nigh on impossible putting on weight with a tube. Well done completing your essay whilst you felt awful. Not long til your holiday now......

Mar- sorry to hear about your son's fingers. A friend of ours did something smiliar in a work accident and lost a finger. It took a bit of time but he learnt to adapt and was able to go back to the same skilled manual job, still drives etc. I really hope the same will happen for your son. Thinking of you all.

Mrs LW - the wedding sounded beautiful, thank you for sharing. A special time with your other daughter's birthday celebrations too.

My boys went back today, they were proud of their new haircuts and new lunch bags. For once no tears and tantrums - just excitement instead of the usual anxiety and first time I haven't had to force away the tears after saying goodbye. I have felt a bit sad and lost today though most of the mums at school felt relieved and really don't understand me! Both boys have great first days back too, hoping it will last!

Had my eye test today and was pleasantly surprised that I still don't need reading glasses, optician said I have very good eyesight. One less thing to pay for, feel very fortunate today.

Managed to have a quick cuppa with a friend in town and do a little windowshopping (pricing things up before I part with the hardearned pennies!) Sorted out and gave away some of DS6's old clothes to give to a friend today so that's another small declutter job done. :DEasing myself back in to routines gently as have not been feeling 100% last few days.

enough chatting, off to sort dinner etc but no doubt be back later to finish catching up posts

    sq :)

If its genuine concern/family friends business just maybe its acceptable but for now, rest and staying calm is the priority. Getting over the shock. Having his own(Mum/Dad)around him...

As others have said if on morphine he will probably be sleepy or disorientated.

I hope its not a visit to try and suss out information that could affect any outcome when health and safety visit. If he calls in, it may be worth having someone present as a kind of witness.

But try to get your DS not to worry over his boss, much more to come to terms with.

I almost lost my left index finger when I slammed a car door on it. Still have a finger but a scar and the nail has a line through the middle that splits at the end...I was very lucky.

Maybe its just me pops but I'm being very cynical. The boss should staff himself and give mars son time to heal.

If its genuine concern he wouldn't demand him to see him today. He would have, the common decency to let him heal.

    But maybe I'm just disillusioned.

mar don't read articles or anything like that for now. Just concentrate on being there for him.
