  • MOLLY she could have joined me last night as I was up nearly all night too!!! I think the forthcoming wedding is getting closer and I can't seem to sleep for more than a couple of hours without surfacing to another one of those 'did I do?' thoughts and then I'm awake for ages, He Who Knows is a sleeper through as well, I envy them sometimes don't you? Have just spoken to DD2 who is getting married and she has everything totally organised and under control, it's just Mum who's having the wobbles, c'est la vie eh? Look after you, Cheers Lyn xxx.

    Hi everyone,

thinking of you for Sunday Molly - all will be well and you will soon be posting here relieved to be recuperating.

Deep breaths Mrs LW, a giddy mix of worry and excitement I guess. If DD has it all organised, you can just relax now. Everything will be perfect on the day, wait and see!

I remember our wedding day, everyone around me was in a tizz, my dad had a nosebleed on his new shirt and a cab didn't turn up and I was calming them all down. I think being so busy and looking after everyone distracted me completely. In the end my car arrived and I eventually left them all to it, not wanting the tradition of arriving late.

Had another fun day in the sun at a country park with 2 friends and assorted gang of children between us. My friends didn't really know each other but got on really well, shame 2 other friends had family crises and couldn't join us.

Had a community event in the park with an ambulance, fire engine and police car for children to sit in which went down well. Then my friend hurt her toe, and went to the St John ambulance van and they looked at it. Said wasn't broken but we think it might be, it was very swollen, painful and turning blue. She managed to hobble round the rest of the day, though we told her to sit it out. Went on a free pirate treasure hunt with lots of clues to work out, which was fun, staff dressed out as pirates and handing out treasure (sweets) at various points of the hunt.

Just unpacked gear and made a coffee which I managed to knock over and spill over everything in the kitchen - just missed a pile of snowy white clean school shirts though - how lucky was that?

right off to sort dinner and boring chores, they aren't going to do themselves are they?

    take care

Hi everyone, just got back from visiting my mum. She definatley getting better, although this morning she had a few pains. She is on a ward with 3 other ladies. 2 of them are as naughty as my mum. They chat away to the nurses. Mum is allowed to have a shower later on. She is excited as her last one was sunday morning.

I took a mini treat hamper in for the lovely staff on the ward. It contained a jar of coffee, sugar, tea bags and 5 packets of biscuits.

    It was well received.

Off for a well earned cuppa. take care everyone x

  • Nutty, glad to hear your mum is feeling a bit better and that she'll be allowed a shower. Not at all surprised to hear she has made some friends, either. Sounds like a lovely basket of treats for the staff.

Mrs. LW I'm so excited for you!

SQ, sounds like a great day, although I hope your friend's toe isn't broken!

I did manage to get a lot of work done today, but it never feels like enough. I get more anxious as my deadline approaches. I also dragged myself to the gym. Since Monday was a holiday I hadn't been yet this week and the longer I leave it, the harder it gets. Still, feeling a bit more positive now that I've been and OH had defrosted a bagel and toasted it for me when I came in:D Tea is in the slow cooker and OH has found a free trial on a film website so we've got a film lined up for the evening...and I've got buttons lined up to sew on where they've come loose on his jacket.

So sorry to hear that Jem. Don't know how long you've been in pain but if it lasts longer than 48 hours get to see a doctor. That's what my GP told me.

All I can do is send you a big hug.

Nuttyp very glad to hear that your mum is feeling better.

Jem: Lots of hugs. Do as AOT says and get to the doctor if you don't feel better tomorrow.

Many thanks for all your sympathy, what would I do without you all?

Mar: I'm not even sure if she would want it now.

We have discovered a few shocking things. When the Rev came over here she was head hunted by the big boss. He couldn't fill the post for the biggest Methodist church on the Island and asked her if she would consider moving a year earlier than she had intended. She asked her church if they would release her and they very reluctantly agreed. This has been translated as, " Well, she was asked to leave her last church you know." Ggggrrrr! :mad: A few more stories like that and it's no wonder they didn't want her to stay.
Anyway, we are much more positive today, helped by a lovely lady - not a member of our church - who had heard what was going on and came to see how we were. After talking to us for a while she announced that she was giving us a cheque for £1,000 to be used for our own church if we set one up and for the Drop-in if we didn't.
We scraped our chins off the floor!

MrsLW: Oooh, it's getting very close now. There's so much to organise and think about. What excitement. We have one at the end of October and I seem to do nothing but shell out money. Strange because they are doing everything as cheaply as possible. Heaven help people whose children want the full Monty.

    An early night for me.

See monnogran just shows how loved and respected you are.
Like I say I'm taken the advice and just do what the penguins says. Ds2 words "smile and wave boys, just smile and wave".

This is what I'm doing, even when I heard them slagging me off on the coach. Thought no just shrug it off ds2 says remember the penguin.

I'm not the best mum, honestly though I would have been tears if, that was me. Hopefully they would have done the same thing for me. OH said to me today that my actions would have put me in good stead with them. But said don't hurry to them. They will soon find out they have made the mistake not, you.

I was supposed to go to my sisters house, instead we stayed at home. My legs are in agony, could barely walk this morning. We recieved a lovely gift today, a lady saw my post for a cake stand.turns out we know each other from the rescue centre and lives 2 minutes walk away from our house :D.She gave DS2 a cardboard unused cake stand when he saw it he started bouncing all over and started chatting about the gbbo. She then came back out with an electric brownie maker for you. His face lit up, said to her I'm going to make you a special cake. Thank you!!!!

That's a lovely end to the day Kez...but I hope you sleep. Like you, I make myself walk...and it can be b***** painful but I don't want to give in just yet...

I may join you with the pain killers...At least I can stay in and avoid going out until 6pm tonight, I have a lift home so just have to get there.

Kez I can't help but think the harm you have had to put up with will return to those causing it. If they can do it to others, how long before they fall out between themselves or are treated by others in a similar way.

I hope you feel better Jem...it really is awful when out of sorts.
