Pops the nights are closing in, but nerve racking really as were not prepared for winter in any way. Better start getting sorted, and have a look at the thread.
been another lazy day in the house. I'm under strict orders to rest, oh said leave everything.

Made risotto for tea, seriously needed more cheese. For the first time made stuffed cabbage leaves with italian tomato sauce. It was nice but the outer cabbage leaves where a bit tough and needed boiling more. still it tasted quite nice, oh went for more.

I boiled down some red lentils and, yellow split peas with crushed garlic, chopped onion, handful of leeks, chilli powder, garam masala and, seasoning. It was really nice and a, good contrast with the risotto.

Well tomorrow my friends coming round, I'm all over though as I havent prepared anything. will be fine though, plenty of bread and, juice. So it, will be all good.

Just a quick word to give hugs to all who need them and I hope all those in pain get some sleep tonight.
Princess: I have one son like this. He has always been hopeless with money. When he was a child we use to say that he would rather drop his money down a drain than have it in his pocket. He seems to have the most amazing misfortunes that require an immediate injection of cash. The best way I've found of dealing with it is to tell him that, of course I will LEND him the money, he can borrow my holiday fund, or my electric bill money and he can have it as soon as he has signed the contract that I will draw up, so that if he fails to repay me I can get it back through the small claims court. He very quickly loses interest. He still tries it on from time to time but the mention of a contract puts him off. I would do it too. I think I would only have to do it once.

If anyone is interested - we heard back from the Big Boss in London today. Patronising waste-of-space. He sympathises with us but there is nothing he can do. Our complaint must be dealt with by the person we are complaining about. Well, that's all right then. That will get us a long way, won't it?:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Sometimes those who are in charge are ineffectual as proven by what you say:D monnagran...so I feel the frustration.

Kez, here's hoping tomorrow is good and trouble free.

By 11am I should be at Preston Park:)my first visit. Takes approx 1hr from my town so not too bad. Three changes of buses. Bus stops right outside the museum I was told today:Dso not too much walking.

Some other plans for the weekend...(I hope)not too dependent on the weather.

I have had two beef burgers since getting home topped with tomato and onions so I'm ok until tomorrow now.

I've also done some washing since coming in. So another good job done...

I think I am going to sleep ok tonight as well.

I hope tomorrow is good to everyone...I may not be on until I get home from the trip out. I was going alone but am doing my good deed taking someone with me who alone might not manage and get confused.

Its my little way of helping someone...

notjustlaura, I echo the thoughts sent in Lyn's and families direction.

Kez, thanks for the heads up for the event in M'boro, I would have missed it. I may go for it...it is that or a look around the scarecrow event in Sedgefield but that is still happening on Sunday too.

I see there are vintage bus rides to the transporter bridge which I have only seen from a distance as I pass through.

Feeling quite upbeat today:)Just have to have a quick shave, grab my bus pass and some money...will make the effort and have something nice to eat when I get back tonight...

    Take care everyone...

Hope you all find a way around the problems that keep coming...I shouldn't be but I feel "little" down myself...maybe its suddenly running out of AD's which suggests chemical imbalance but it could be that I know Summer is ending and the dark nights are here already:(...)

You might have a good reason for coming off your meds suddenly, Popperwell, but I'm concerned 'cause I don't think you're meant to stop them suddenly. Can you not get an emergency prescription from the Dr or an emergency supply from the pharmacy?

I have decided that some of my extra wage will be spent on a cleaner, but I can't entertain the idea until the house is decent enough to be seen....

I have a cleaner, VJsmum. They need to be able to get to whatever you want cleaned but your house doesn't need to be presentable. I use my cleaner to do the general cleaning and therefore free up time in which I can declutter, rearrange and make presentable the rest.

    Morning everyone.
I am back as I now have the use of both arms, its so hard typing with only one arm. I have been reading though.
Just as my shoulder is starting to mend with the help of weekly physio, my knees are now playing up I have osteoarthritis in both knees maybe its because the nights are getting cooler.

Nuttyp Sorry to hear about your mum hope shes getting better.

Kezlou You have had a lot to deal with lately, I hope things improve.

    Morning all

Supposed to be a lovely sunny day but it's a bit overcast at the mo, I'm sure it will sort itself out when the tide changes.

It's been a bit hectic and a bit fraught here with one thing and another but hopefully things will settle down a bit now.

Cats are earning their keep with the amount of mice they're presenting on my doorstep, I'm also finding a lot of spider legs (maybe they don't crunch enough). We're over run with moths though, I don't think I've seen so many moths/butterflies and dragon flies for years.

I had to pick my 8 apples as my tree is under attack from aphids (and therefore ants) and earwigs, they're the first crop we've had from it, I shall be turning them into apple chilli jam. I tried a grease trap to stop the ants getting to the aphids but it didn't work - feisty ants round this way. I shall get it pruned and hope next year it's more robust.

Off for a much needed haircut this morning, I keep my hair really short and try and trim it myself inbetween a decent cut but it's got to the point that I'm considering taking the clippers to my entire head....which wouldn't look good!
