Well mum has just rang and they are going to transfer in the next 2 days to the big hospital in Lincoln for an angiagram? they said her heart looked slightly enlarged on the ultrasound scan....

An angiogram is where they put a special dye into the bloodstream (usually at the top of the thigh in the groin area) and scan it to track it through the heart and to see where there are any problems.

My mum had heart trouble and had a couple of those, she also had several angioplasties and a couple of stents fitted, and she was always as right as rain afterwards and back to being my mum again ;)

Just popped back on quickly I seem to have gone into spring clean mode in summer LOL and have emptied so many cupboards etc. I have even stripped the covers off one of our sofas (they are washable ones) I am not letting my pain stop me today I shall rest up tomorrow after taking youngest to speech therapy, luckily I have got my Dad to give me a lift there so that saves me about £5 in bus fare and the waiting round for the bus as it is on the hour and youngest does not like waiting for anything, saves me a lot of stress anyway :D
***hugs*** Nutty well done on getting your Mum into hospital as soon as you did, and I hope all goes well with the tests.
Kez I have just read through the posts and I am so sorry you are having such a bad time, they are bullying you pure and simple, I hope all works out in the end, chin up and it is no-ones business what age you were when you had your son, I had my first son when I was 19 and I am very proud to say he is one of the most politest and grounded of all his friends who have 'older' parents. xxx
Proud mummy to 3 beautiful boys! :D
  • Hi all, I've been lucky today in TK Maximus I looked at the baby section for the first time ever, was very impressed at what was available and at such reasonable prices too. DD2 has a love of squirrels, always has, always will so looking through the 3 - 6 months size clothes I came across an organic cotton turquoise and white striped long sleeved top with an applique squirrel on the front. The sleeves and neck are edged with a warm orange for £2.99p, the 6 - 12 months section yielded another from the same brand this one was orange and white stripes with a blue edging and a different squirrel appliqued on the front, same price. Then I found a pair of Fisher Price 3D slipper socks in grey, with little 3D foxes heads on the front for £1.99 so they all came home with me for Lentil, there is such nice stuff out there isn't there? I think I'm going to have such fun being Oma, Cheers Lyn xxx.
  • How awful for you nuttyp. Well done for taking your mum to the hospital straight away. I've had those 'angiograms' and there is nothing to it though very worrying to think about in advance. The car parking charges at the hospitals round here are horrific and don't sound any better where you are. Its bad enough having someone you love in hospital but then having to worry about the charges is just extra, unnecessary, stress. Hope your mum continues to improve.

I've not had a good weekend, mainly because my GP surgery made a mistake with my prescription and have had to go three days without one of my medications. Then I had to make a scene this morning to get an emergency prescription as they were going to make me wait til Thursday. Luckily I have a very understanding pharmacy who gave me an emergency supply.

Hope today has gone well for all, especially for you kezlou.

hello everyone...I'm back. We have had a great time in Dorset and the new forest. We took the caravan to Wareham for a few days. We stayed on a fantastic campsite (well field) which was so peaceful and quiet but only 5 minutes from Wareham centre. We had a day t Corfe castle which was great fun.

I am afraid apart from emails i haven't looked at my laptop so haven't read the last two weeks' pages so will have to start from here. I have missed the forum though and look forward to chatting again with you all

Awwww MrsLW that babywear sounds so cute. I remember having a thing for jungle/safari type animals when my 2 were babies and decorating the nursery with cute animal paper, buying animal soft toys and similar themed clothes. They both have a love of animals now, especially DS6 who has a real passion for wildlife.

Nutty, I know the hospital you mentioned. My Dad was in there for heart problems a few years ago and had a pacemaker fitted. The care and expertise he received was great so your mum should be in good hands. I remember all the parking costs too. I think there may have been some free parking in nearby roads, I didn't try because had my mum with me but maybe worth a try. It was about 3 years ago now though.

Just back from our day out, great fun but hard work in the heat, DS6's friend ran everywhere with sheer excitement and I had a job keeping up with the coolbag etc to carry. This little friend doesn't get to go to many places as they are a family of 6 (with a baby), on a low income and no car and he was so appreciative, said he had the best day EVER! I was so happy to give a lovely little boy a fun time, only did free things like walking in woods, seeing boats, picnic, and playarea though treated us all to an icecream when all the drinks ran out.

I have four more days out in a row (cheap park outings and similar) with different friends so will be throughly exhausted by the end of Saturday! Also said would try and fit in seeing a friend and her little boy at ours as she has a poorly mum to look after at home and needs a break/child needs to see some friends. I would be ok if I didn't come home to all the kitchen chaos, laundry, cooking and the like.

Having a pot of tea to rest up before I tackle it all. Will be ok once I get going - it's the getting going that's the hard bit lol!

stripy cat is me-oaning for dinner so best get off my bum!

  • Hello MOLLY hope you're bearing up under the stress, and hope Molly dog is keeping you company and giving you the love she always does. It's a bit manic here at the moment with all the little last minute jobs to do for the wedding on Saturday but we're getting there except that I had to dash in to town today as with all the kerfuffle I'd stopped thinking about DD1s birthday which is next Monday and hadn't got anything to give her on the day!!! She's getting a fridge freezer for her big present but I like a few small things to give on the actual birthday, never mind all done now and a nice card found too!!! I may not be able to post regularly for the next few days so I just wanted to say I hope your stay in hospital and the treatment goes well and is successful, and that I'll be thinking of you and hoping you are not too scared and we'll all be looking forward to the post from you later on that says I'm fine and back at home. Look after yourself lovie and be better very quickly, Love Lyn xxx.

Nuttyp sending hugs, I am so glad you acted quickly and that Mum is doing ok xxxx

MrsLW I think you will be a fab Oma what a lucky little lentil having you.

AOT so glad you have a good pharmacist, I do too. Meds often get messed up by our Gp and its only thanks to my chap at the chemist that OH is still standing. He is only a phonecall away when I need help and has been fab.

Monnagran your friends kitchen sounds very welcoming. the people living on the beach  appreciated your help, thats lovely that you could give them some comfort - it obviously meant a great deal to them - boy do we tak things for granted - there but for the grace of God etc.

Have just taken OH out for lunch, lovely ( cheap) ploughmans sat in a conservatory and boy did we need it. Came home to find Dd and DGS coming down the street after a playdate in the park. He ran down the street as fast as his little legs would carry him, straight into my arms - usually he sidesteps me and runs to Grandad laughing at me :D He now has an emergency wristband on, which he loves, in case he gets lost cos he cannot tell people who his mummy is, it has her phone number on.
