AOT: Many thanks for the thoughts and prayers. I reckon God's ears must be ringing with all the prayers winging his way.
So sorry about the pain, hope you have a peaceful night.
Docky: Come off it! I only type with 2 fingers and very slowly but I still manage to get the letters in the right order. Mostly.
I'm with you on the subject of orziz, those hooves are lethal. Keep away from them my friend.
MOS: Twix bites are acceptable but custard creams are preferable. It's many, many years since I passed 'O' levels but I could still join in the celebration. Coffee/champagne 11o' clock tomorrow, yes?I believe that friends are quiet angels

Am really enjoying this thread so thank you all and apologies if I don't get all the names right ...
MOS - I fostered for Cats Protection for years and often felt sneezy when cats came home after spending time with the vet despite not being allergic to the cats themselves. I don't know why this should be but thought you might like to know that you're not alone! I also spent far too much money at the surgery today so feel your pain.
Re RDA/horses - I was a Pony Clubber in my younger days and would live them again in a trice. I'm thinking of volunteering with RDA when I'm a bit fitter and thinner so will be really interested in hearing how Stilty(?)'s DD gets on.
My OS for this evening has been setting chickpeas to soak ready for slow cooking while I'm out tomorrow and getting the dishes and laundry up to date. And, in case anyone thinks I'm rude and barging in I don't mean to be! I popped a reintroduction on the introductions thread and decided after that just to I've back in!Household: Laura + William-cat

SAVINGQUEEN: My DS used to work at said establishment and they have to push extras and are in trouble when they don't sell. He hated it as he didn't want to try and sell something that people didn't want and ended up working in the stock room so that he didn't have to sell. It's the same with insurance at the jewellers and Arg0s etc. I always say to them that no I don't want it and Im very sorry because I know they get into trouble for not selling. I think it is awful the pressure that is put on the sales assistants to put pressure on us when we have already spent enough as you say.

MOS - glad puddy cat is back from the vets, ouch to the bill! Re your sudden allergy, could it be something the vets used instead of the cat?
All 5 of my moggies are curled up in various baskets/beds, I think the visiting fox has scared them all indoors.

Fuddle....so sorry about your chair....I have stuck old chairs back together with N*M***N***s and they lasted quite well.
Listening to you all talking about cats makes me realise how much I miss having one anymore....Mossy is not fond of so am afraid to have one..might try to talk him round....
Need to get out to the fields to get some more blackberries, also need to eat more apples as our eater doesn't keep very well.
Elona....positive vibes to you and OH.
Promised myself bed by 10 tonight, but watched Paul O'Grady in a programme about working class England in his youth and now....can't remember name but enjoyed it.

Morning Toughies, been up since silly o clock with a sicky lurcher, poor old boy, I'm certain it's the anti inflammatories he's on so we'll stop them today as he seems fine now. Up and doing housework really early in the hope of being able to snooze later on when it gets hot!
Hello NOTJUSTLAURA, my doggie walking friend volunteers at a local Riding For The Disabled yard not too far from where we live, has done since she retired a couple of years ago and loves every second of it. You'll soon be very fit if you decide to join in she spends the day walking out with all ages of people with all sorts of disabilities, after having groomed, mucked out and saddled up multiple horses and ponies and all the same in reverse at the end of the day. She works with a good bunch of other volunteers and is very glad she decided to make some time for something useful on her retirement.
Going to be processing garden produce today, I did the blackberries, raspberries and runner beans last night so all are now in the freezer. I have kilos of tomatoes picked from the greenhouse to dehydrate today, more french beans that I know what to do with to sort out for freezing and the biggest pile of courgettes yet this year to do something with, I know not what as yet!!!
Have a good day everyone and if it does get as hot as they're predicting where you are keep yourselves hydrated (NO GQ NOT GIN!!!) and sit out the heat of the midday sun if it gets really unbearable, take care all, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -

That's my moan over feeling !!!!!!.I have dyslexia so I apologize for my spelling and grammar0 -
Morning all!
Jem, I can understand how that would make you feel down. My haircuts are few and far between as well. It sounds like even if you can't go on a night out, a bit of pampering is in order. Could you manage to lock yourself in the bathroom for half an hour? And maybe treat yourself to some little something? I like the sanxtuary salt scrub pkts at B00ts. They're a ridiculous price for what they are, but for £1.99 I usually get several goes out of them and they make your skin feel nice. Anyway, big hugs!
Docky--I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. I'm sorry your medicine is making you feel a bit poorly.
Right, today is work. OH is going out to source a few new things he needs for work--primarily shirts as I've told him he needs two weeks worth 1) because it means I can wait until there is a full load to wash them and 2) because it will save wear and tear or them and we won't have to run out and buy something at full price mid-year. He also needs another pair of trousers as he is sorely in danger of becoming Sir in the grey trousers.:rotfl:
We wanted to see some friends before term starts again, but there are bound to be several nights out later so we didn't want to go and spend loads in the pub. We've invited several round tomorrow night for a simple dinner...so now I have to figure out what to cook. We might try some butcher meat for this occasion, I'm not sure yet. Still I love planning food for people.
SQ--be proud of those tomatoes! Last year I had one little pepper plant which produced...nothing before the slugs devoured it. I think you're doing better than I was!0 -
Morning everyone, ive been manic at work for the last few days. Over the last 2 days I have completed 28 hours!!!!! So today I am totally pooped. Please can they get more staff, and to top it all off I have been informed last month (july) I didn't ask some one for acceptable ID and I have to attend a disaplinary meeting. It is a joke, as someone who works with us has been off for over 2 weeks and no sick note, she been caught drinking at work - no action so far and she went to get a sandwich and returned after an hour and a half with a new hair do. STUPID really. Sorry but it makes a mockery of doing the right thing. I know I was in the wrong for not challenging on entry but how come I can be called in and NOTHING has been done so far reguarding the other collegue.
DD received her resit GCSE yesterday and she was 1 point off the grade she needs for university. So we have had to bite the bullet and stump up £40 for a re grade of one of her modules. If they give her the point we don't have to pay - if not we do. To say she is devastated, well it was awful to hear on the phone. I was at work and couldn't go with her to get the results.
DD has had her operation brought forward to 3rd sept, they are going to re try and sort out why she has major nosebleeds. She has 2 on Tuesday. My mum rang me at work to say if it continued for more that a few more minutes she was ringing an ambulance, it literally pours and if you pinch the nose it bleeds into the throat and then she is sick. I hope its sorted very soon,
Well when I finally get dressed I am going to clear the living room and get it decorated. I bought the paper in the sale - 3 rolls at £5 each and a tin of emulsion at £12. A major clean up and then the possibly of a new vase or something for the windowcill and that's it.
I have 3 days off to get it all done, I drew the short straw again and have work Monday.
Have a good day everyone xBSC member 137

Morning!
Quick pop in to comment as we are working lunch and evening.
Nutty - please consider whether your out-of-character failure to follow proceedures may have been as a result of the long hours and stress being caused by the situation at work, which is causing you to lose sleep and feel under undure pressure. A good quote there I think.
From experience I know there is little point on commenting on the lack of action on the other situation (they will say it has nothing to do with this case), but you can say how it has affected you. Make it very clear that under normal circumstances this would not have happened.
poor DDs!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
