    Morning all,

Thanks stiltwalker - yes neighbours have jobs/kids but probably booked a day off work tomorrow and sod the neighbours. To be fair they stopped the music 11.30 (thought it would go on much longer but they must have known people would have called the police) but for the hours it was on before it was really unbearably loud and we are over the road and had our windows closed. Moan over...

moments - good for you. a relief when you have a decision to make hanging over you. More time to spend with us, must be the right choice eh?;)

Pooky and others waiting for results - hope you find out soon and students get what they are hoping for.

A rainy day today and guess who left the kids' shoes out to dry after the water fight yesterday as they were damp? They are dripping wet. Think I will stick the fan or dehumidifier on, worried they will smell otherwise. Should I stuff with something absorbent as well do you think or leave the fan to circulate inside the shoes?? Think they will be wearing wellies to the cinema this afternoon!

We are using last of holiday funds to have a family day out today. Going to the cinema and to a cheap carvery place afterwards for a late lunch/early tea (cheaper prices then.) We rarely eat out so a real treat. Other days with DH will be free outings like the woods or coast and stuff like gardening and fixing things. I do have a tenner stashed away, enough to go swimming again if we fancy.

So no washing today (rain) and no meal to cook, just some toasties or similar before the cinema as we will be eating lunch late. Lucky me :j

Hope everyone is ok today, hugs if you need them and plenty of them. Stripy cat sends you all purrs, he get jealous of me using the keyboard and mouse and I have to keep stopping to stroke him.

    sq:)
  • SQ, pop some newspaper in, then change it after an hour or so--whenever it is fairly wet. It will help wick the moisture out faster.

MonnagranI understand so little of church politics in this country, but it sounds like such a difficult situation for you and the rev. However, I know you will make the best of whatever you decide.

MOS I'm glad you have found some peace. Keep popping in here! I know there are people on the OS board who sell crafts, perhaps they can give some suggestions.

Today's plans are fairly simple--work, put everything not in hard packaging into hard packaging, and perhaps a small potter in the garden. We might be having a courgette dish for tea if the third or fourth one is big enough! I also washed linens and "pretties" tablecloths and doilies yesterday, so I might be ironing for the foreseeable future:eek: Still, they've been packed away so long, it will be nice to have them out, ready to use from now on.
  • Good morning everyone. It is a beautiful day here, just waiting for the washing to finish so I can get it onto the line.

I am making lemon marmalade for MR VP today and will be re boiling yesterdays strawberry jam as it did not set. This will be followed by an afternoon of painting the living room and then moving the furniture from the dining room into the living room so that we can start on that room next. I can not wait to be all snuggled and cosy in there when the nights draw in.

m-o-s you sound very happy with your decision. I often find that the build up to making major life decisions can be quite stressful but once the decision is made it is then easier to start planning how things are going to be and moving on.

savingqueen I would put scrunched up newspaper in them and change it as it gets damp. This should help to draw the water out.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Hello toughies, lovely start to the day here, sunny and warm (sorry SQ!) but we may have rain in the late afternoon/evening so I'm going to try to get some of the garden tidied and grass cut today.

I had a full night's sleep for the first time in weeks - the horrible wheezing has gone! My chest is still a little tight and I still have the bronchial cough, but the relief from not wheezing and being breathless any more is insane... I'd actually forgotten what it was like to be able to move around without nearly passing out.

I plan to really enjoy today. Lots of sitting around drinking tea/coffee as well, of course!

    Dear all,

Thank you for all your concern and wise words.
Fuddle: No-one can deliver a lecture like you do, petal. Unfortunately, never in my life have I taken the sane and sensible route. So far it has led me into some extraordinary places and given me rich and rewarding experience, (not rewarding financially but certainly life-enhancing).
Since I've hitched myself to the Rev's wagon things have been even more exciting. We are both up for a challenge and as long as we have a roof over our heads we'll be fine.

Of course, none of these things may happen and the Rev will then move on
to another church and things will go on safely and steadily.
To be honest, that sounds pretty boring, 'safe' and 'steady' are foreign words to us. But what will be, will be.

In any case the Rev is at this very moment working on her profile, (a sort of churchy CV) so we are keeping our toes, if not our feet, on the ground.

MOS: I don't know about finding peace here. As you can see, you will be lectured, nagged at and given the odd telling off but all in the most loving concern from the most fantastic people you are ever likely to come across.

Aye... that's the response I was expecting ;) if you want to do it ill behind you 100% and to be fair, and expressing my selfish side ;) I'd quite happily have you on IOW, I know where you are then and you aren't many miles away from the prospective new life.

Lyn you're so right! Who am I to give monnagran my opinion - talk about teaching and sucking eggs. I'm allowed though, she lets me - funny thing is I wouldn't dare on the phone ;) and when she put the Rev on the last time I ni on pooped me pants ;)
