Jem i have very few close friends, i can literally count them on one hand. Plenty of acquaintances but not the other. I struggle with people as i've been hurt in the past.

ds13 and ds9 are more aspergers but apparently according to cahms they doing with that and just saying high functioning autism, confusing really. so not just high functioning or asc.

Boys enjoyed playscheme, i got extremely annoyed with one of the acquaintances mums. Saying well my son is far to intelligent and when he's room full of for example your son he's far to intelligent for the.
Well after D i've become more confident and outspoken, i said "Excuse me, but my son is technically a genius. His cognitive level are of an adult standard, just because he doesn't speak to you or because he likes bouncy castles doesn't mean he's unintelligent." SHe looked shocked and well you how ds9, i said yes he has a superior intellect the same as ds13, but they try not to show it so they make friends. Just because your child is very intense about cars and knows all the makes doesn't make you more intelligent." She decided to go on about how one member of staff said her child was very bright and prefers older children. He also said your child was quite slow. Well i marched into the staff and demanded to know what was going on, the man in questioned he thought my child was slow because he didn't go to the toilet straight away. this made me really angry and said have you friend my child's form? His reply no, are you working with my child today? His reply no. My reply so how dare you judge my child because he took a minute longer to go to the toilet. Lets just say the manager came up to me and apologised, the staff member was severely reprimanded and said he shouldn't be calling people or children slow. Whilst i'm writing this manager phoned me up and said the staff member has been removed from the position. Apparently i'm the fifth person to complain and he was already on a warning. The manager also said that my child was in the middle of doing a very complex 5000 piece puzzle at the time.so if he took any notice he would that the child in question was concentrating. While the acquaintances child was spinning round in a circle and screaming hey diddle at the top of his voice.
I turned round to the acquaintance and said "I suggest from now on, you stop being so judgemental. Look at yourself before you make assumptions regarding other people."

After i said this the acquaintance backed down completely and couldn't look me in the eye. We left and went to Morrison$. Whilst we were in there the acquaintances followed and invited us to lunch at the cafe on there. I said sorry i can't i have to go shopping and then home.

I thought no why i should sit with ignorant sw!nes like them.
I felt awful because the children wanted to sit with them and eat, but i honestly couldn't afford it. We were having tantrums until i distracted my boys and said come one lets see if they's any saveloy's. Straight away yay come on mammy!

    Oh i'm fuming!!!!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad:

You know what Fuddle i never noticed that!

Having a quick cuppa before I do the next round of chores. Went to a local nature reserve this afternoon. They had a free kids' trail with clues to find and an anagram to solve at the end. Trouble is the woman told us the wrong directions so we only found 2 out of 12 and had to give up in frustration. DS9 got really grumpy when we went back with our clipboards and found out. Kitted out in long sleeves/trousers for blackberrying and boiled in the blazing sun didn't help! He has really tried my patience this afternoon but we have all stayed relatively calm some how.

Anyway not many ripe blackberries yet but we got at least a punnet worth and we all enjoyed it so was worth going out in the end. DS9 moaning he wants to see friends, texted round and arranged to see one friend plus his mum (my friend as a bonus!) next week. See if anyone else replies, sent 2 last week with no replies but people might be on holiday I guess.

jem - good you got the tyres free, they are supposed to be disposed off properly (rather than dumped) so I guess you saved the garage a few pounds too.

pops - you will be busy! might as well make the most of the lovely weather... enjoy.

Better get laundry in/out and dinner and bread started

    Afternoon all.

OMG, what a lot of things have been happening today. So sorry to hear that Little Al has passed away, but he was loved and cared-for and it would have been a gentle passing compared to what would have happened if you had left him outside.

(((((MrsLW)))))) poor poor Docky. The lamb. You must both be very upset. Hoping he will soon start to feel a little better and take a meal.

elona, fingers crossed for a good outcome for your DH. Sometimes it really is OK but our fears are trying to tell us otherwise.

Yup, what happened at SuperGran's church was diabolical. The Rev (in their seventies and SG's close friend of several years' standing) spontaneously accused SG in her role as churchwarden of not doing something (church-related errand) that the Rev, had asked her to do. This was after the service and in full earshot of the rest of the congregation.

This was the first SG had been told of this want, so she said mildly that she hadn't been told but she'd get onto it right away, and the Rev went up like a firework, turned shouty, accused SG of accusing them of lying and just went ballistic.

SG couldn't believe what was happening, never imagined being spoken to like that, and quietly said she wasn't being spoken to like that and was resigning with immediate effect. Rev declared she wasn't welcome in the church any more (SG's church for the past 40 years, only been the Rev's parish for the past few). SG walked out with her dignity intact, but she was incredibly hurt and doesn't understand what got into the Rev.

The (predominently little old lady) congregation was appalled and didn't know what to do with themselves. Lots have stopped attending the church. The majority have rallied around SG and told her that what the Rev is saying about SG in front of other parishoners is so appalling that they dare not even relay it. It's so out of character that some are wondering if the Rev is starting into dementia.

 It makes me spit tacks. SG was up that blessed church every day of the week, and always doing stuff. Lead stolen off the roof, who do the Police call out? Need to be up there first thing to get the boiler serviced? SG was there before 8 am. She spent as much time on church business as many would spend on a full-time job. And now this.

Ach well, they'll never find another like her, because she's a human dynamo and very dedicated. She's enjoying a bit more rest now, and days out with friends and you can actually catch her at home more often, which is good for me. And her other voluntary organisations are benefitting from more of her time and energy.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Pops are you going to Preston mueseum? If so wil you let me know what it's like? It's really very cheap and somewhere I fancy taking the girls... Cheapy Beamish I gather.

Butterfly world is lovely but very very humid. I would go when it's cooler an drizzly to get some relief when you come out.

X1 but I don't know what bus from the high street to P Park. We've no bus from the town now so don't bother with them.

Kez that isn't at all very professional. Look how we'll L and A played last week. No expectations, no judgements by either them or us as parents! You're protective over your boys and I over mine. I would have acted the same as you. There's no such thing as shyness with me when I feel I have to stick up for my kids.

    Evening all

Elona - hope DHs results come back quickly and clearly, we are waiting for my Dads after he had a growth removed and skin graft 2 weeks ago, he looks like he's done several rounds with a boxer (or Mum with a rolling pin!).

Mrs LW - Poor Docky, what a shock for him, hope he's back to his old tricks soon.

Fluffy kitten has been chasing butterflies and just pushed her brothers head out the way to get into the food bowl so she can't be feeling to bad.

Popped out to a country park but the blackberries are no where near ready here, still hard little green lumps, the elders are very unripe too so will have to go back in a few weeks. DD2s BF had never been berry picking before, he's a lovely lad but his upbringing isn't fantastic. His mum doesn't cook, ever. His stepdad does the cooking but as they don't get on his stepdad refuses to cook for him. So he lives on toast and crisps. Every day that he cycles here (20 odd miles retun) I make sure he's had a decent lunch and a cooked meal, he just hoovers up anything on his plate bless him. I hate to think that some parents can be so cruel as to not make sure their child is properly fed. Anyway, I shall do my bit while I can but teenage boys do have hollow legs.

Looking forward to popping my jimjams on tonight, settling down with a nice smelly candle, some patchwork and something good on telly.

Oh and the War Time Farm book (hardback) is £2.99 in The W0rks, I treated myself to a copy.

  • Evening all,

Afraid I've been bitten by the bad mood bug. No reason really, work was fine, storecupboard stocked...

It turns out the watermelon beat me to using itself up. OH says nevermind, I'll get another one, but all I can think is that is half a watermelon wasted. Instead I'm trying Kezlou's loaf, it is in the oven now. It smells lush:)

Elona, I hope it is good news for your OH.

I think I'm off to read for a bit. Hugs to all of you who need them.

    Evening everyone

Thanks for all the kind words for Little Al, it seems daft to be so sad about a little bird, but the house seems eerily quite, we miss the incessant cheeping! We have given him a fitting send-off and buried him in the garden, with a pot of rosemary cuttings on the top to mark the spot.

Hope the lurcher boy is feeling better Lyn what a horrible and freaky thing to happen!

And how dreadful for SG to be treated in that way, and by a vicar too! Some people have very strange ways of venting their frustrations, you just do not expect it from a person of the cloth!

And Monna having churchy problems too - obviously a hotbed of forment at the moment,

We cheered ourselves up this afternoon with a trip to garden centre the other side of the county. We went for a quick look before and saw they had lots of lovely fuschia plants very cheap so went back to get some. Got several very nice big plants at 2 for a fiver, they will look great next year. We like them because the do not get scoffed by anything, are such wonderful colours and easy to look after. I am going to take a lot of cuttings, they make a nice plant to give away as a present.

Elona and Pooky - hope the test results come back soon and are all clear.

Have a lovley evening - sun is out here and streaming golden light through the livingroom window, lovely!

Elona and pooky hope your test all come back clear xxxx

I know our children get on well, happily playing for hours.
No preconceptions, non judgemental, just being happy go lucky children.

I just got so angry, over the past few weeks i've been sticking up for myself and the children more. Just pees me off. The thing is i have never mentioned to anyone L's cognitive tests or anything.
I just got angry and frustrated.

LYN....So sorry your poor mutt got a beating , love and licks from rosie and bo...xxxxxxxxxxxxx...
MRS CHIP....So sorry to hear you lost the little birdie, you gave it your best shot, its very hard taking over from the real mother.....

MAR........Glad that your gp noticed the difference in you , I havent been to drs for quite a while which is very unusual for me , so ive not shared my good health news with him yet.........

My little chihuahua rosie is doing ok considering she is 16 and not very good health , she is losing a bit of weight , so today I went in pet shop to get her another collar , but I cant seem to get a small enough dog collar, so I bought a cats one , its pink with a little bell on and fits her perfect.....The old one just slips over her neck so its useless, she eats like a puppy , give anything a go , wonderful appetite, but her age is against her .............
Hope you are all enjoying this continued hot weather, make the most of it with a bank holiday coming up..........Sheila

I finished my patch of garden that im turning into a lawn, also grass seeded it, ive watered it well and will do so , trying to get half decent lawn up and running before end of September, as grass seed wont germinate to late in the season............Im getting fed up with watering every night...........
