Hello again everyone,
Welcome nlj1520. I hope your son's BBQ worked out ok, sounds a potentially very difficult day for you both. Let us all know how it all went.
Big congrats to all the various exam passes and driving theory test. Let's clink our teacups in unison - cheers to you all!
Glad you all had a great day kezlou and fuddle.
Boys and I had a really fun day today. Went to a big local country park with lots to do and took my friend's little boy along. As soon as we arrived, I heard my name being called by a kid and it was some friends of ours whom we only saw last week after not seeing them for months. My friend, their mum was having a hair appointment and some me time whilst her OH took the 3 kids and new puppy out so we hooked up together.
I had bought a massive picnic and my friend's DH bought their brood burgers but they all wanted mine, toddler said "Daddy I prefer SQ's picnic thank you!" He was amazed when all the stuff came out of bags, games, wipes, suncream and all the usual paraphanalia, all the things kids needed plus stuff to make lattes. A true OSer, I like to be prepared!
Then later my friend (mum of the little boy we took with us) joined us and hadn't eaten so all the picnic food came out again. Definitely a place to go back to, lots of walks, bird watches, marina, miniature railway, little free museum and they had various arts and crafts activities, pond dipping etc which we might do another time. We found a couple of secluded picnic areas to try next time away from the crowds, one in a lovely RSPB garden with insect scupltures. Also treated us to a ride on the miniature railway, lots of fun with everyone waving as we chugged through the park. Sorry I have rambled on but it was just such a brilliant day. I am going to text round everyone I know locally with kids (while I have free credit!) and see if anyone wants to meet there one day next week.
I am really tired now though, eating some picnic leftovers as didn't actually get much time to eat myself with the all the kids needing attention. Going to do the easiest tea I can think of and have a nice soak later. Tomorrow morning I plan to get up early with DH and have a clean/tidy frenzy before a friend comes over - she won't care what the house looks like but I need regular excuses for a blitz!
edit to say: to top it all today, I got to look after a golden labrador puppy (just for 15 mins) and fuss over it, he was a beautiful boy.

Sorry to hear of your CFS diagnosis MOS, I suppose it is a relief though to have a diagnosis and you can plan how best to manage it now. The redundancy might be just what you need, you never know what is round the corner, sounds like you will be far happier not working at your current job.
hugs

Hi toughies, big hugs and warm wishes for everyone struggling with anything at all - hope things become easier for everyone.
I got my kelp tablets today and have taken my first one! I'm not expecting any miracles, so any improvement would be a bonus. Did those of you taking them find it took a week or two to work or did you notice a change right away?I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

I heard this too! I really, really hope it happens - summer isn't over for me until the first week of September. It's not been a bad summer really, compared to last year anyway, but a couple of weeks of reliable lovely sunshine would be so nice.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

What?!!?? Best news ever! So excited it got me out of read only mode!
Congratulations to those of you with results. So pleased for you all.
Feeling a bit tired, so tucked up in bed with the laptop while OH makes dinner. Not sure what it is, perhaps a cold coming on, or maybe just tired for no reason.0 -
Thank you so much for the support today. I have found an al-anon in my town. I was so sure there nearest was 30 mins away but no, here at 6pm on a Monday night.
Well done all our children for their good results and getting places in education. So many proud parents here tonight. It's lovely
Molly, doggies, doggies - don'tcha love 'em
Mar - while you're quiet keep dreaming of a white wonderland. It might just happen this year!
Kez its like we've known each other years. It's never ever awkward, we never run out of things to say but toughies... I have a severe case of pantry envy! Our kez is set right up for times of hardship and I need to get there again. I will be pantry (I wish! Under stairs shelf more like) shopping tomorrow. Spoken to the kids and I'm going to do a shopping list, were going to shop together to find the cheapest and stay within our budget. For many reasons 1) I cannot shop effectively with the girls so need them focused and 2) we have a set amount to spend and don't want to go over. And 3) think it will be a good lesson for the girls.
Kez's boys are such grounded lads. I'm chuffed to read they were ok with me because I was concerned about them feeling iffy due to what happened with D. My eldest got on brilliantly with kez's youngest (same age) and kez's 13 year old lad looked after my 5 year old. A big strapping lad (with an obvious heart of gold) didn't at all mind when my little girl handed out her hand for him to hold. That was it... Piggy backs galore.
Kez put out a good spread actually!! Very nice and a bit upset I forgot to bring some no bake cake home! Do you know what she did? Set the kids on me for not eating my crusts. Well that was it, 'cos fiddle doesn't eat her crusts non of the kids felt they should. Ooops
So I'm ok tonight. Going to log on to that online support chat tonight, I think. Depends if I manage to chill out a bit. No point bringing it up if I can forget tonight.0 -

Hopefully! 'Tis when I'm camping
JPS I hope the kelp does good. I'm on my second week as is DH. I'm not sure it's clicked in yet especially as I have washing and dishes around my ears!0 -
FUDDLE and KEZ you two are everything this thread stands for, good honest supportive friends who help each other out of the doldrums and hold each other up when you're feeling low. It really doesn't get any better than that, you are both good people and a lesson to all of us, brilliant kids, brilliant, Love Lyn xxx.0
