I'm here, I'm reading along and cheering/offering hugs as appropriate and thinking of you all.
At the moment my black dog is sitting on my chest and growling and snapping at me, so that's why I haven't been posting. I did pluck up the courage to try to make an appointment with the GP, but couldn't get a double one. So tomorrow will be to get my blood pressure checked and then I'll do my best to make another appointment about my depression.
It is threatening to overwhelm me at the moment and I'm just about functioning still, but it is touch and go. I've decided that I will take ADs if I can get counselling as well, but don't just want the tablets as things need dealing with properly and not just medicated and numbed. My ability to fake being ok is leaving me and that is showing me that it's time to actually do something.

I will post when I feel up to it, but am reading along. Much love and hugs to everyone xxxx

Look after yourself lovely lady x I suffer the same. I have some lovely friends who look out for me. Normally they can see before I can, that the black dog has returned by my Facebook statuses!

Look after yourself SDG. Hang on in there and look positively at the fact that you know, you feel and you can see you need help.

    Nice to see you :)

Jack has come under criticism today according to her blog post. Due to using the salmon paste. I'm not sure how anyone can criticise someone who is trying so hard in life and is good enough to share it with the struggling masses. So sad, I feel hurt for her. It is a tasty dish!
  • You know who criticises people like Jack Munroe for using thrifty salmon paste? Those ethereal beings who make their fish recipes with oysters, turbot and caviar!!! As far s I am aware there aren't too many of them in our part of the OS world, thank goodness!!! Lyn xxx

How's your renovations going? Are you builder free yet?
    Renovations still happening. :(
Had an electrician here for two days last week. Major jobs done now. Had new windows/doors plus new boiler/radiators + pipework. Got new utility area plus new kitchen - gorgeous - not ready for photos yet - finishing touches to do. Have a new cloakroom/bathroom. All new sockets and ceiling roses plus new light fittings. Old lounge replastered - got rid of artex. door removed and wall rendered in garage. New interior doors still to fit
Just the whole house to decorate still plus new flooring.

Actually Shirley Goode criticised Jack - read her latest post on her blog!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I haven't finished reading yet but thought you might like this tip. I mash or whizz in the processor some cooked white beans such as butter beans and mix them with sausage meat to make the meat go further for sausage rolls or pie or even patties. I also mix them with cheese and mashed potatoes to make cheese pasties.

She is local to me & writes for my local paper, plus I follow her on twitter & Facebook. She takes the criticism very well. The media are utter idiots. She could have been a "typical single mum" but she isn't. Still she can't make people happy. Personally, I stuck my fingers up to the critics.

Kids have eaten their tea. Youngest didn't eat his meat. He is on iron for low iron levels. He needs another blood test. The last one was traumatic enough.

Have prepared the tea for me & dh. I eat with the kids sometimes & if I like what I'm making for dh, then ill eat with him.

This OS Doorstep is what like was like years ago. Now, none of us really know our neighbours, many of us live far from family. It's so isolating.

We've just had a huge rainstorm which cut off the Sky. The kids were astounded! :rotfl: oh & yesterday the wifi wasn't working. Te teen didn't know what on earth to do with herself!

They cannot comprehend than when I were a lass, there was no Internet & only 3 tv channels till "naughty" channel 4 came along. Kids tv was only after school & on a Saturday morning as well!

I don't get in what universe salmon paste and Basics yogurt aren't thrifty buys? They're cheap as chips (actually far cheaper than chips!). We were quite poor growing up and I always had paste sandwiches for lunch, because it was the cheapest thing to put in them (I liked just plain bread and butter though, the weirdo). When I became homeless at 17 and was on Income Support whilst doing my A Levels, a paste sandwich was a common lunch for me.

SDG and Mrs Morten, look after yourselves! I'm only just recovering from the Black Dog's attacks thanks to finding a medication that works for me, but I know how awful it is. Be kind to yourselves x
